84 male champs with the addition of bard
And only 40 females... All the epic kits get soaked up by male champs, sometimes I feel this is intentional.

I would rather they let the champion genders roll naturally rather than forcing any given champ to be female just to fill the difference. I personally don't think it matters... I would bet that most gamers identify with each champ's persona rather than their gender.
And i'm just gonna throw this out there at the risk of sounding like a bigot--but I think gender roles aren't necessarily a bad thing when it comes to identifying with a character. Sure, any gender can fill any role, but that doesn't mean that the stereotype doesn't help enforce the personality. Draven just makes more sense to me as a male, whereas Ahri doesn't translate well to me as a male. Besides, no kitsune was ever male... so why force the issue when the profile fits? I do realize there are several that could have been ambiguous; i.e., Vi could have been male--but that character just seems so much more bad-A due to the fact that she is a super female bruiser.
And i hardly agree that the best kits get soaked up by males. Rek'Sai, Jinx, and LB have extremely loaded, very interesting kits just to name a few.
tl;dr Don't get me wrong, I'm all for more female champs. But I don't really think it's worth saying, "Hey, let's make a bunch of females to help balance the roster" when it might make the upcoming champion profiles suffer.
There's 42 female champions 82 Male champions.
This is fantasy, not the military. There were thousands of female goddesses, seers, witches, hunters, healers, spirits and so forth in mythology/history. Your argument is irrelevant. It shows a hint of bigotry even, aimed only on the western European, view of "One man rules everything." while throwing out the window the mythology, legends, history and culture of hundreds of other regions and peoples. Even Europe during the age of the vikings, women were often healers and witches, which... Are perfectly viable in LoL, it's not a game of only big burly fighters, it's full of mages and healers and assassins.
Eastern culture has had loads of female assassins for a long time, and all cultures not influenced by monotheistic male focused religion have loads of mythological female characters.
Interesting kits is subjective, I see most female kits as more convoluted, for example Brand who is super simple and fun, vs Syndra who is very complex. Kassadin or Zed who are easy to play, vs Akali or LeBlanc who are hard to play.
So? The audience is male? Most males in MMOs make female toons. I am male, most my male friends want more female champs.

Even in the bible there are female figures with important roles, just usually less so as the cultures involved in it were more male orientated.
In Asian there are nearly limitless female spirits both benevolent and malevolent.
Keep in mind, "Spirits" is a weary word, many of these were just figure.

Heck, even the Greeks had a female as the "Mother of all Monsters"

Asking for female champions is no more disruptive to artistic creation than asking for more ADCs or asking for more technology users. And the ratio is really sad, considering the only role that genetically women are disadvantageous in is straight up fighter, which doesn't matter, this is a magical world where puny muscle-less humans wield swords large enough to crush somebody with just it's weight.
Not that I am not a feminist, I am not even a female, I just want more diversity, and more simple - straight forward - female kits.
Lol, so what? Most champs played are female anyway. Or things/animals.
Intentional? Not at all. True? Still not at all. I guess
etc. all have bad kits.
About 14.5% of the U.S. Military consisted of females in 2011 Reference About 33% of the League of Legends cast consists of females.
Seems pretty generous, honestly. Keep in mind that not every single person in the world of Valoran is a League of Legends champion. In fact, a very, VERY small percentage of them are. Champions in League are grand heroes, mythical creatures, legendary warriors. These are the people that impact the entire world with their actions. These are people that little kids are told stories of around the fireplace, that lone travelers whisper about over a hushed meal on a lonely road, that drunken sailors rave and rant about in the back table of a tavern. Considering that, 33% is actually pretty generous. How many completely well known historical, mythical, or legendary figures can you think of off the top of your head? Now what percent of them are female?
Not that I see the big deal. The gender of champions is just one small part of their identity. I wouldn't want Riot to delay a bunch of cool champions because they need to make more female characters.
Female champions have a lot of my favorite kits, and that's true of a lot of people, as well. What I think is important here is that no champion feels like they were made male or female for obvious, arbitrary reasons. They just happen to be people who feel more like characters, for the most part, so I can appreciate any champion that comes out on this basis.
What is

It isn't. It is just how thing turn out.
