Idea for an item to deal with overabundance of support CDR

the weeaboo··1 votes·299 views

For every 2% cooldown reduction over 40%, the duration of hard CC spells are lengthed by 1%

example: 20% extra CDR = 10% bonus hard CC duration

the job of the support is to peel for their team. this allows them to do their job better.

that would be out there what if they had the mastery that makes the cap 45% cdr?

+2.5% duration

getting more then 40% cdr ( or 45% if you take the mastery ) isnt gold efficient, you should not be rewarded for building baldy

Uhhh no duh that's the idea of the item.

I don't know if you've ever played support but literally every single item gives you CDR. You lose out on alot by not stacking it

i am a support main...

you can get items that dont have cdr

you should not be rewarded for bad building

It's not bad building if you have this item... I think you don't get the issue here. Say I'm playing Janna. Redemption, Athenes, Oasis. That's already 40% CDR. I now cannot buy Ardent, Frozen Heart, Mikaels, Lucidity boots etc.

then you dont buy them

you SHOULD NOT BE REWARDED FOR GETTING MORE CDR

It wouldn't be building badly if there was an item that utilised excess CD, though.

there is zero reason to get more then 40% cdr in items or runes . by rewarding you for doing so to give you more CC or longer CC isnt good for the game

It could maybe add a little flavour to builds... IF it was balanced.

There are lots of games that let you increase the duration of CC; so it's not like League would be the first.

but we arent talking about other games. we are on the boards for other games this is league

and by the way people already cry over cc in the game in the state it is in you think people would favor this ?

I meant it more in a sort've 'We know it can be done without destroying the game' way, when I was referring to other games.

It really depends on the execution. Jhin converts speed and crit chance into pure, damage - and he didn't turn out too bad. Admittedly, that's ONE champion vs an entire roster. Still, if Riot were to do something like this, I'd be interested to see where they went with it.

yet jihn regardless of the ad items had over a 52% win rate for about 4 months

so yea if a champ is stupid strong regardlesss of items , ghostblade build, leathality, crit etc then SURE it was a success

The Anagram King1 votes

Could be interesting. Depending on the champion. But there are ALSO champs like Gnar - littered with CC - that could abuse that kind of item. Or an Ashe. Shooting arrows.

... Maybe not quite as good. :P

But, as someone who plays Urgot occasionally and has to deal with looking at his RECOMMENDED >40% cdr build every game, I can see the value in it for certain champs, in certain seasons. =p
