I think it's kind of nice to see this. It's kind of similar to how we voted on Diana gaining the Fire skin in 2015 that she received in 2016. This time though, we are actually choosing from a few different themes rather than a team winning that makes the theme.
I would like to see more of these, but I think it only fits for when a champion hasn't gotten something in a while (i.e Illaoi). So, if there are other champs that don't get something new for an extended period of time then I think they should look into giving us a vote on various ideas they've had and see what the community really wants.
IMO its gunna be kinda sad to see that only one of these would be made, and if you had a preference and that doesn't go through vs. the other options you may be very disappointed.
Also I'm very shocked the skin wasn't in development already yet. They're now just looking at ideas...
I absolutely love Riot for giving us options! I absolutely hate that all three options are fantastic and I want to see all three game now.
That said, team Adventurer. I love the entire aesthetic of it. (My love of Spelunky definitely has nothing to do with that. >.>)

Tough choice, though I chose Deep Space anyways. Battlecast and Adventurer....Tits!
Deep Space looks cool af to me and gives her quote "the vortex is all" a new meaning, overall matching her theme a little more than the others, imo. Seeing as this is just the beginning I look forward to riot changing the only problem which I find to be her face.
Battlecast is interesting but it goes off-course as she's supposed to be a priestess who brought a god to the battlefield while the skin makes it more like she just brought a bunch of tech that's somehow grabbing ass from the other side of the map. Intersting but very 'meh' to me.
Arguably the worst and best visually is Adventurer. This one focus' on Illaoi's body specifically her breasts and legs, which I am all for (sure she's supposed to be one of the less-sexy champs but as a legs-hips-ass-man Riot failed against me). While I like the model, the tentacles are pretty lackluster. Illaoi's base skin already uses a similar shade of green, at least the other two change color.
I'd say Deep Space or Dunk Master, but more so deep space.
I actually wouldn't opt for this way of making skins unless they really can't find a theme that they think will work the best. It sucks since you won't get all 3 while some people may think the other two concepts are good or better than the picked skin. Especially if you are a main of the champion getting the skin. Sometimes it might be better to not let players know of some concepts that didn't work out to avoid disappointment. Also, from an artists point of view the skin might not be as creative as it could with some other themes since you just get a concept shoved up your throat.

I voted for battlecast myself even tho I don't play Illaoi mostly because I like robots :P
That being said, I'd love to see a similar vote for a Karthus skin. Yeah, he got a skin a year ago but considering he's one of the oldest characters in the game, I'd kinda like a slightly larger variety of skins for him :P (maybe when he eventually gets his Splash Arts updated? :P )

It feels more lazy than a step forward. Riot has been able to nail high quality skins in groups in the past, so why ask now? Feels more like they don't want to waste creative time and instead let us vote a champ they have to get a skin out for. Illaoi is on that list people complain about, so they are just like "hey, pick something so y'all can shut up about it" instead of creatively debating and studying what would be best for Illaoi and her minuscule player-base

Voted for Deep Space one because it has been a long time since an Astronaut skin was released and seems like the most plausable to be transfered the best in gameplay form. Story concepts revolving the Battlecast and Adventurer that were pitched dont fit for Illaoi that much (mostly Adventurer) or Illaoi doesnt fit within the thematic cohesion of the skin theme (mostly Battlecast). Deep Space Illaoi adds to the Austornaut skin theme that we havent had before and thats the inclusion of the unknown horrors of space that arent in obvious flashy purple (Void and Dark Star for example).
Honestly, will they ever hear the end of people complaining about one of the skins that didn't win not being made? It seems like an open invitation for people to complain.
Isnt Battlecast usually full metal ? If you make it half and half, you might better go for a Dreadnova skin, right? The Deep Space skin is rather boring to me. Adventurer, while also not too exciting, shows potential for other skins in that line, has the best tentacles of the 3 and looks okay.

I don't know how I feel about skin votes because people can get really excited for one skin and then become disappointed when the skin the really wanted didn't make it. It is the same thing with the sewn chaos ammumu blitz. I got excited for the blitz and wanted to buy it after seeing it, but it got shelved.

I hope they don't. It'd be painful to see skin options for champions I really like not get chosen and even more painful to have the votes skewed by people who don't even play the champ or plan to buy the skin.
