About Jhin's insights.
So i just read Jhin’s creation story and it’s certainly fascinating how certain ideas evolve and how close we are to Riot without even knowing it.
Jhin’s creation started with a not-so-simple yet awesome idea: a bounty hunter cowboy robot with a sniperit’s a rare yet really awesome trope). They do mention Caitlyn in there and how they wanted to make a sniper fantasy that was different from her because: “If anything, her fast rate of fire and unlimited ammo aligns her closer to a semiautomatic rifle-wielding gunner”.
Now why is this related to us(or at least, to me)? Because, like many of you, i too have plenty of ideas for new champions and whatnot: sometimes i talk about it and other times i let them boil in my head. I once spoke at how awesome it would be to have a cyborg Minotaur(where his robot half can turn into a wheel and he can just roll over his enemies) or a crustacean tank(The Mighty Scuttle King, all hail his holy pinch). Robot cowboy sniper was also one of my ideas. So when i read those insights, i love to see how Riot had the same thoughts as me and worked on it for months, exploiting every idea and flaws from it with a team of developpers and made Jhin, while still keeping the core of the character fresh.
Before some of you ask, i'm not thinking Riot has a mind-reading device that steals ideas from people around the world to make theirs happen(but that could happen if the Lizard people that control the world would get their reptilian hands on Riot games). I just think it's really awesome how some people around the world have ideas that are so incredibly similar and can work with people who can bend those ideas into something even better than what a simple being thinks. When i read those insights, i like how familiar i am with Riot's devs without even knowing them.
I love those champion insights. I still hope my giant crab champion will one day rise from the Rift's river and pinch everyone to oblivion(Perhaps this great idea was recycled into Rift Herald).
