Misa, the Weight of Duty [Champion Concept]

Lore

Misa was born in Zaun, but she never came to know her parents. Too poor to raise a child, they had to give her to the orphanage in the depths of Zaun. At least that was the explanation they gave her. She grew up as a tough young girl, always fighting with the other children and making trouble. She never expected what happened when she turned 14, a young Lord from Piltover was visiting her orphanage, intending to take a child with him, teaching and giving her a job as one of his maids. Everyone was surprised when he picked that young girl with the mistrusting face from the crowd.

But he had good reasons for his choice. He didn't want to train a simple maid. He wanted to train a perfect servant, being able to get rid of his opponents in the streets of Piltover, being a bodyguard when he has to go to business meetings and taking care of his daily needs.

Over the years, he educated her in several sciences, trained her in the art of fighting and equipped her with tools to do her duty. All she saw was that this man was giving her a meaning, power and knowledge. She felt a deep affection for her master, since he saved her from a life as a poor rat in Zaun. She will do everything in her power to be useful for him, including murder.


Character Design

Young fair lady from Piltover, her fashion style is similar Camille. Her facial expression is usually calm, but there are times she is losing her cool and turns yandere, wanting to delete her enemy at all costs.

Her weapon of choice are 2 hextech flails, the chains are connected to her sleeves. The crystals in their core allow her to change the weight of the flails at will. I chose that weapon, since I noticed that the assassin subclass (she is supposed to be part of them) lacks a champion with a blunt weapon. All of them are using blades in different shapes. The only exception is Ekko, who uses a watch hand resembling a sword. Additionally, her uniform has a metal spine on her back, it is carrying some metal cans. They are used for her E ability.


Kit and Gameplay

Misa is supposed to be a jungling assassin. Fitting her lore, she is working unseen in the background and taking out whoever her master wants to see dead. Her abilities are scaling with AD.

Passive: Hextech Momentum & Endless Duty

  • Misa is a melee champion. After each use of a skill, her next auto attack gains range (outlined like Ekko's E). Her auto attacks are still treated as melee attacks for all purposes.

Q: Pressurring Attacks

  • Misa is flinging her flail in a targeted direction (circular AoE), damaging all enemies in the area. The AoE is seperated in an inner and outer circle.

  • Hitting an enemy with the inner circle will give Misa 2 stacks for her E, hitting with the outer circle just 1.

  • Misa can recast the skill a second time for free after a short delay before the skill goes on cooldown. Just the initial cast triggers sheen.

W: Steam Cloak

  • Misa is dashing in a targeted direction (short distance) and releasing a steam capsule from her back. She gets cloaked in steam, making her unvisible and untargetable for all enemy champions for X seconds.

  • While walking, she leaves behind a trail of steam (short delay), which is visible for the enemy champion, warning them. She is able to pass wards with that skill, since her icon won't show up on the map. However, the steam is visible and if the enemy pays attention he will notice her approach.

  • The skill uses an ammo system, she can store 3 ammos at once. Between each cast, there is a short cooldown, but the reloading cooldown for the ammo is really high.

E: Will Breaker

  • Linear skillshot. Misa is hitting with one of her flails in a straight line, dealing damage. The skill deals additional execute damage, based on the number of stacks from her Q (4 stacks maximum). This skills works on large monsters.

  • Killing a unit with Will Breaker will heal Misa for X % of her missing health.

R: Master's Order

  • After activating the skill, Misa is able to chose an opponent (similar to Kindred). The chosen enemy gets a sound warning and the E indicator, the crystal in the middle is glowing blue.

  • After a short delay, the first attack from Misa against this enemy will fully stack her E and she is able to reactivate the skill after a short delay. She is throwing her flails in the enemy's direction and pulls him towards her.

  • Misa is basically able to kidnap an opponent from the middle of his team. It is fairly adressed and she has a hard time approaching anyway, since the steam of her W will stay visible.

It's a maid [sg-jinx] Lore: Rather basic, but it does get the point across. That said I wonder why a notorious troublemaker would make for a good maid, but it seems to have worked out. Why does she need to learn science? I get repairs and first aid, but why more?

General: Blunt weapons are stereotipically fighter weapons, so it makes sense for assassin to use daggers or other knifes associated with rogues. Gave a quick rundown of a maid kit before and looks like we are on opposite ends there (Full utility maid) ;P

Passive: Liking the spellblade range effect, but does the range increase per level?

Enless Duty kinda feels tagged on due to it's specific effect (only low health, only jungle monsters). It doesn't feel like part of the kit or thematic and only helps with jungle clears.

Q: Why does the inner circle give two stacks? A flail carries it's power at the top, like an Axe. Does the Sheen interaction also apply to Hextech momentum (kinda being Spellblade effect)?

W: Invisibility and untargetability on a basic ability seems like a big part of her power budget and should have a rather low duration. Having a really long ammo recharge duration is a two edged blade: On the one hand you can give her a lot of power in exchange, but misusing this ability or activating it prematurely will feel absolutely terrible. How does it interact with Attacks from Misa herself? Does the dash skip terrain or why is it there?

E: Rather basic if I am allowed to say that, but works well with her kit.

R: Hard to judge without numbers, but a long ranged Skarner + Urgot R sounds rather annoying. How long can you wait for reactivation?

Overall: Apart from some unclarity on my side, I really enjoy your interpretation of the Maid archetype. The kit flows rather well and the abilities all look good. Keep up the excellent work!

this... is actually an amazing idea! I can see her being a somewhat tanky jungler is her ult gonna be like a ranged skarner ulti? also her being a maid, I think it'd be cool to have her abilities be a tiny bit supportish, like her Q being able to block projectiles(if allies are standing in it they get protected too) her W stream cloaking allies in a smokescreen thats all I have for now, keep up the great work!

I like it, sure tweaks happen over time but i think the power balancing was considered in this concept champion.
