Possible Jinx Improvement
So, I've been thinking a lot about jinx lately and I think I came up with something that will make her tons more fun to play.
After reading her lore, I found that her mana system in game is utterly disappointing. This crazy maniac doesn't seem like someone who would want to be or who would be constrained by mana. So while listening to get jinxed, the lyrics "just a little bit of energy" stood out to me.
What if Jinx's mana system was replaced with an energy system. Here are the specifics.
Every auto-attack, Jinx stores 5 energy, capping at 100 energy. Kills or assists gives her 20 energy. Energy falls off 5 per second after 3 seconds of not gaining.
When Jinx uses her ultimate, it consumes all of her energy stacks. (Note: Jinx's current ultimate does 25/30/35% of targets missing health and deals more damage if it travels for over 1 second. These two parts of her ult would be removed.) Every energy point will cause her ultimate to deal 0.5% of the targets missing health. (Example: a rocket fired with 50 energy would deal 25% of the targets missing health, a rocket fired with 100 energy would deal 50% of the targets missing health.)
Pros: I feel like this will fit her lore better and will give Jinx's players something to think about. I think Jinx players just worry about positioning, while other ADC's have other things to worry about as well (Ashe's Q stacks, Corki's pacakage, Ezreals w and how to hit as many allies with it while still damaging enemies, etc.). I also feel like this will not make her any stronger, as her main weakness right now is lack of mobility. If shes fed in her current state, she can carry unless the other team finds a way to burst her. With the new ultimate and energy system, she will be able to carry a little harder, but her weakness is still there. She is still vulnerable to assassins.
Cons: No cost for her rockets now.... This might be abused a little in the early game, as late game the mana cost is barely noticible. It will make her difficulty a little higher as now she has a rumble like system to deal with.
I don't think this will make her super OP because 1) Her main weakness is still there, she's immobile and super squishy. 2) Although her ult has the potential to deal 15% more of the targets missing health with this change, it won't be OP because that's only if she has her full energy and really the only way she can do that is by her team killing 3 to 4 of the enemy team. That means her ult will be rewarded the better she does in a team fight, just like the rest of her play style; the better you do, the more you are rewarded.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this and instead of saying this is great or it sucks, please tell me how I could improve this system as I've thought about it for less than 24 hours. :)
