Abaddon, the Endbringer
Any critic on my concept for this new villian of League of Legends is welcome. A celetial being of vast and unknowable power with a vendetta against the ones who imprisoned him, Aurelion Sol and the Aspects of Targon. Feed back on kit, lore/story, and over all concept is welcome.
Abaddon, the Endbringer short range mage/support, attacks with bolts of fiery purple flame from his hands appearance: mage drapped in dark robes etches with glowing runes, a hood that shrouds his face, revealing only two glowing purple eyes in the darkness
Passive: Penumbra of Retribution: Basic attacks against Abaddon have a 10% chance to snare his attacker for 1.25 seconds. Q: Dark Comet: Abbadon calls down a sphere of Void energy at target location, revealing it and dealing 60/80/100/120/140(+60AP) magic damage to all enemies in the area, leaving behind a dark comet for 4 seconds. After 1 second, Abaddon can reactivate Dark Comet to detonate the sphere, dealing half damage to all units in the area. W: Nether Shackles: Abaddon tethers himself to an enemy champion, siphoning off and gaining 30% of their Armor and MR over 3 seconds. If the enemy is still tethered after the 3 second channel Abaddon cripples them, reducing their movespeed by 25% and damage dealt by 10% for another 2 seconds. E: Vile Incursion: Abaddon unleashes a burst of dark energy, breaking free from all current crowd control effects. If Abaddon targets an ally while casting Vile Incursion, he will merge with them, becoming untargetable and invulnerable while inside his host for 3 seconds, shielding them for 10/14/18/22/26% of his max health. Reactivating the ability before the 3 seconds is up will allow Abaddon to burst forth from his host in a target direction. If an enemy champion is hit by Abaddon on his expulsion, they become feared away from him for 1.25 seconds. R: Oblivion Strike: Abaddon calls upon the power of the Abyss and fires a blast of pure Void energy at target enemy champion, dealing 100/150/200(+50%AP) magic damage and is garunteed to critically strike the target for its magic damage. If the target is below 35% health, Oblivion Strike deals true damage. (upon activating ulti): "Enter Oblivion!"
Lore Summary: Once upon a time, long before the great Star Forger cast his brilliant creations into existence, illuminating the vast emptiness of space with light, there was an eternal darkness known as the Abyss. And it was in this Abyss that a great entity of unfathomable power called home: Abaddon. The metaphysical manifestation of the great emptiness, Abaddon had only known isolation since his shrouded conception. That was until the Star Forger, Aurelion Sol, came into being. It was short and brief, a blink of the eye for an eternal being such as it, but it was brilliant. The star dragon was born and with it new creations began to spring up across the darkness, jewels of light and warmth that Abaddon had never seen before, and he wanted to understand them. Over millennia, the two cosmic beings became good friends, one creating the canvas for which the other could paint his masterful works into existence on. But as time grew on, the Star Dragon mysteriously disappeared from his duties and charges, and Abaddon watched as the brilliant jewels, which he had now come to know as Stars, began to fade and wink out across the universe. Troubled for his companion, Abaddon set out for his lost friend, searching every corner of the universe and the space in-between for Aurelion. In his rage Abaddon became hostile and paranoid, fearing the worst for the great star dragon. He came to hate the dragon for leaving him and resented his creations, smashing and dispersing the brilliant jewels into oblivion, scattering his worlds and solar systems into the Abyss like marbles hitting a floor. And it was halfway through one of his rampages across a galaxy that Aurelion had been very fond of that he was reunited with his old friend. Over joyed, Abaddon ceased his destruction and came to the side of the great star dragon. But this reunion was not what he had hoped it would have been. Something was different. Aurelion Sol was not full of life and warmth like he once was but had become dull and cold, a hollow shell of his former glory. He wished Abaddon had never come to find him and apologized profusely for what he had to do: imprison him. It was not his will but the will of his new masters, the Targonians, that Aurelion had come to battle and imprison his old friend for his crimes against the multiverse. Abaddon was as vast and powerful as the universe he had created and would not be contained. A great battle ensued between the two beings of creation and eventually only one came out on top: the Star Forger. Aided by the might of the Targonian pantheon of deities, Aurelion defeated Abaddon and locked him away in a multidimensional prison, forged in the dying heart of a black hole, outside the realm of Abaddons birth and cut off from his power. There the soul of the universe was locked away and never to be let out again, lest the world and fabric of existence be torn apart. Aurelion lamented his lost friend and vowed to keep watch over his prison and make sure it would never be destroyed or opened. Thousands of Years Pass Abaddon has bid his time in his exile, patiently waiting and plotting his escape. In his new home outside reality, he created the Voidborn, beings of pure dark essence who's only mission is to consume all life across the universe. A war has broken out between the star dragon Aurelion Sol and his captors the Targonian Aspects. The Star Forgers gaze has wandered from his charge and turned towards Targon. The shackles that bind Abaddon and his minions are loosening and he knows his time of freedom and vengeance is drawing nigh.
If it wasn't for a wandering Shuriman mage in search of Icathian artifacts, the key to opening Abaddons prison may never have been discovered in the dust of a long buried Void Temple. Selfish for power and throwing caution aside, the poor mage opened the portal a crack and tried to strike a deal with the vast entity inside: freedom and vengeance in return for limitless power. Abaddon laughed and granted the mages wish, but the living Abyss had other plans. In a rush of power Abaddon freed himself from his eternal prison and turned toward the eager mage. "For your aid young mage," Abaddons melded into the shadows of the chamber, "I will give you what you truly desire," a dark rush from an unseen wind and in a flash, a pair of brilliant amethyst eyes burn away the shadows of the temple. "I GIVE YOU THE RAW POWER OF THE ABYSS!" and before the mage can flee or even open his mouth to cry out, Abaddon grabs him with unfelt hands and pours himself into his new vessel, merging his essence with that of his host. Disoriented at first, Abaddon gains control of his new body and opens his eyes, two fiery purple gems under a shroud of black as deep as the Abyss. Abaddon, the Endbringer, has been reborn.
Few basic quotes and taunts: Upon selection: "Take a walk on the Dark side."
Upon leaving base: "So many lights to snuff out, so little time."
Upon buying first item: "What primitive tools... I suppose this will due... for now."
Threaten/Taunt Aurelion Sol: "You betrayed me Star Forger, now you must die!" "Aeons I waited for this moment brother." Taunt Zed: "You meddle with forces you can barely comprehend, boy!" "Master of Shadows? Ha! Master of None more like it." "Hmph, child's play my boy." Taunt Nocturne: "Sweet dreams are made of this." "My finest creation and protege." Taunt Voidborn: "Come now... Recall: Summons a ball of purple flame and throws it on the ground, a burning glyph spreads out and begins to radiate while Abaddon turns and walks into the circle, a pillar of fire erupting and consuming him "I may be gone, but do not think you are truly safe."
Upon death: Falls to knees and cries out upward, his body fading and flaking away into the sky like void ashes "Energy can never be truly destroyed!" "Back to Oblivion..."
Malzahar, well done.
