[Champion Concept] Clawberg, The Icebreaker
yeah the name sounds a bit silly and unoriginal. not much related to the freljord too.
bio: not much at the moment, but he comes from the northern sea of Runeterra (Runearth?, english isnt my native language). maybe an outcast? maybe a relic of ancient times? no one knows
main concept: since the coming of Nami, it seems Riot hasnt given more acuatic champions into the mix. while we have gotten champions like Illaoi and the whole cast of Bilgewater getting their own unique identity as a marine nation with sea monsters lurking under their waters. we havent gotten a new champion that actually comes from the depths to help (or terrorize) the land.
the main idea of Clawberg, is inspired on crustaceans, or maybe on something more exotic, like the giant sea scorpions and other monstruous acuatic arthropods from prehistoric times. taking an approach different than
or
, Crawberg is designed on the idea of a fighter/tank (maybe a juggernaut), that comes out in and out of the water with a slow strut but with the force to take down your turrets and break your spine in half if you get caught on his pincers.
gameplay:
Clawberg is similar in some regards to
, on his land mode it is a slow moving monster that applies short ranged damage with his spells and basic attacks, all of them based on physical damage. while on its acuatic mode it is a faster magic based oponent that makes use of its long range spells to deploy short bursts of condensed damage to annoy the enemy.
habilities:
-Passive, "Acuatic Behemoth": when not submerged, Clawberg has reduced movement speed but he becomes inmune to displacement effects (damage still applied i think). when submerged it gainst faster movement speed and a regeneration effect based on his missing health (the closer to death he was, the stronger the heal, eventually it wears out to his normal renegeration when reaching full health, the heal is also applied only after being out of combat and entering combat disables the effect).
-Q, "Pincer Strike"/"Water Burst": while on land Clawberg swings his largest pincer in an horizontal arc, causing physical damage to its enemies, the first champion or monster hit by him remain on his grasp for a short period receiving aditional DoT damage. he can move with the enemy in hand during the time it receives damage. the range of the attack is short enough for allowing the enemies to move ouf danger. also, it only applies to the first enemy hit by him. so its not well suited for teamfights i think. when submerged Clawberg shoots a stream of water as a skillshot that causes magic damage to the enemies hit on its trayectory. the hit also applies an effect to them as "wet". enemies marked as "wet" give him a short burst of movement speed to Clawberg and his allies while moving towards them.
-W, "Tail Smash"/"Ocean Assault": while on land Clawberg smashes his tail on the ground causing a shockwave in a small radius around him, knocking up its enemies for a short time and causing them physical damage. while submerged he dashes a short distance in a rectangle, displacing enemies aside and causing magic damage to them, wet enemies receive aditional damage
-E, "Iceberg Slam"/"Water Artillery": while on land Clawberg makes a pushing movement with his body that displaces his oponents back and causes them physical damage. while submerged he shoots a blast of water that falls in an area pointed nearby (something like Kog'maws R but with a short range) enemies hit by the blast receive magic damage, wet enemies get stunned for a short time.
-R, "Submerge"/"Unsubmerge"(?): Clawberg starts with his R activated on default, when activated he can toggle between his submerged and land state. he also gains aditional effects depending on each state. when in land he receives aditional armor and magic resistance equal to a percentage of his maximum health, when submerged he gains ranged auto attacks using streams of water as projectiles.
let me know if there's anything that looks really broken with him. i dont have stats yet, but you may see that his kit doesnt really fit for a full AD or AP build and its mostly related to either hibrid or full tank/poke composition. in fact, i could change the roles later with the feedback.
thanks for watching anyway.
