Hello everyone and welcome once again to this month's Community Concept Open Stage. In this contest I ask for any and all champion concepts posted in this month of October and run it by a temporarily anonymous panel of your peers! If you're interested at all, read on! I've detailed everything from a-z.

Prizes

  • Entry into a Hall of fame post that will remain updated as long as the CCOS runs (eventually it will happen I promise)
  • Top 5 concepts will be highlighted and praised in the results announcement
  • Top concept will get a custom .gif file of a fancy shiny medal to 'pin' on their concept
  • ALL entries will have a score associated with their concept in the scoring categories as well as a good chance at feedback and critiques
  • ALL entries will be referenced in the CCOS Archive to be viewed later

Entry requirements

  • ONE entry per player
  • Concept Entry must be posted this month. As in this month of October, 2015.
  • No WIP concepts or re-posts please. This contest is here to encourage new content. You may be disqualified.
  • Concept Entry must be YOURS. If the linked concept’s author and your name are different your entry will be disqualified.
  • Entries will be taken from now until I post a “contest closed” thread on the 30th at noon EST.
  • All entries must have a LORE and a KIT section to be considered a concept. More is needed to remain competitive, but to be entered you need at least that.
  • The first 30 entries will be taken. Any posts above that limit will not be entered.
  • Entrants can be disqualified based on rude behavior towards other entrants/judges (negative feedback is fine!), disregard of the Universal Forum Rules (porn is NOT a legitimate reference image) or other major problems.

#How to Enter

  1. Post your concept normally within the Skin & Champion Concepts Board, if it's not already posted.

  2. Reply to THIS POST with a link to Step 1

  3. Wait for me to reply with "Entry Confirmed!". If it takes more than a day for me to reply I may have missed you, don't hesitate to remind me!

  4. Watch the "Current Entrants" List above and double check you're up there, if you are you're in!

Remember: There is max of THIRTY slots.

#Timeline

  • October 24th - October CCOS entries start
  • October 31st - Entries no longer taken, judging begins
  • November 14th - Judging stops, buffer time begins
  • November 17th - Results announced

#Scoring

Entries will be scored based on five categories with the following weighting.

(Max) Category

(25) Lore

(25) Kit

(20) Originality

(20) Effort

(10) Bonus --------------------------------------- (100) Total per judge

#Bonus Category: Share the love

It's back again! A few people really liked the idea if inter-mingling the entrants and this also gets more feedback to everyone, so it's a win-win!

What you do is just find another entrant on the list (at the top of this post just by the way) and give them some critiquing! Anything from a random idea to a full breakdown, help out someone else this month by leaving a comment on their post.

To be eligible just click ‘permalink on your submitted comment and then copy+paste the resulting URL into your own post under “CCOS Bonus”. It makes it easier for the judges to find it.

I will ALWAYS need more judges and there is no detriment top trying and walking away halfway through (because a month is a long time).

But I've never made a concept before....

Never fear the Sir is here! I’ve made a Introduction to Champion Concepts post just for you! New conceptors are not only welcome but encouraged to participate! I will be happy to take questions about making a champion concept as well. Getting new conceptors into the scene with confidence behind their concept is a huge motive behind this event! :D

I have a WIP concept...

Feel free to post and work on your concept as much as you want. It's not technically entered until you provide the link to the entries thread. Just make sure you're not the 61st entry and the original post is within the month!

I don't have a concept and I don't have time to judge. But I want to help!

That. Is. Awesome. The single best way for you to help me, the other judges and the entrants is to give feedback! Negative, positive, just make sure it's constructive and the author can use it effectively if they so choose. In fact if you want some tips on giving feedback to Champion Concepts check out Jaykoboy's awesome How-to guide here.

Can I change my concept after entry?

As encouraging feedback and concept participation is a major motive behind this contest, I encourage iterating on a concept, HOWEVER you have to be able to argue it's still the same champion, no major changes or it will have to count as a new entry with your previous entry being disregarded. Remember: your entry doesn't start until you provide the link here, If you want feedback before entering I advise to simply post normally and provide the link when you feel you're ready.

Can I change my concept after judging starts?

Yes, but there's a catch. I do not micromanage the judges, I let them peruse the entries at their own pace in their own order, so I can not guarantee your changes will be seen by every judge. If you do make changes that late in the game you have to be prepared for a score that does not accurately reflect your end-all concept.

Support the CCOS!

Some of you have been doing this already, but if you'd like to support the CCOS and get more people each month provide a link to this post on your entry so others can find it easier. This lets the CCOS have more visibility without me spamming reminders and generally getting on everyone's nerves. This is by no means a requirement, but I am appreciative of anyone who does help out!

Since I cannot decide which one to enter in this month I would like to post two of mine and ask for peoples opinions on which to enter. Please let me know either on the champion concept itself or here (if that is ok with Sir ArmaMulum of course).

They are Zoth, the Displaced Veteran (he is tied in with my previous concept: Valen, the Displaced Professional. I have two-three more concepts within that theme centered on an event of sorts) and the second one is Levtiticus, the Awoken (He was a quick champion concept based on several ideas.)

Please let me know which one you all think I should enter. It would be much appreciated. Thank you. ^_^

Last month I had some issues with your judges. I submitted this champion expecting some form of written input as to how to improve the champion constructive criticism which is what these contests are about and out of the 3 judges only one actually reviewed my champion. Well in words anyways the others just slapped numbers. Maybe the judges should be required to put at least 10 words of input into the champion maybe even 3 sentences. This should be a requirement so people like me do not feel jipped. Now I know I cannot resubmit frost but something must be done to remedy this problem. All I want is input and I feel cheated. Sir it is your job as host to step in in these situations and try to come up with solutions. I know you are just host but please. I got like a whole 30 words of input and some people only had one word of input. If I may quote one judge in their review of a champ last month and that was "weird" come on now this should not be allowed.

Hello i read your champion concept creation guide and was wondering if you could help me out. Like i just need out to get the lore to fit exactly in right and iron it out to be more readable,And i wish i could draw but i can describe and or use refs as vibes to help picture what my champ is suppose to like. And that i suck at the whole numbers thing and describing abilites by typing only using my voice which is tough for me.

I'm here to enter the contest with what I think is my first champion concept since board update.

Vivian is a long range mage who rewards precision and accuracy above all else. The intention is that she is supposed to be insanely hard to play optimally, but if you do she is very rewarding and she becomes extremely powerful in the right hands.
