[Champion Concept] Kashu, the Voice of the Wood

Currently, League of Legends lacks a character who sings. This idea came to me when I thought about Sona, and development for a deeper story line and family line.

Today, I will present Kashu, which is Japanese for "singer". She is a mage/support who excels in close-proximity combat due to her anti-dive spells.

She is based off of Galadriel from Lord of the Rings, and partially off of Toph from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

I drew the art myself but I am a terrible artist. Please excuse my lack of color. Her hair should be golden blonde, with her ends of the hair being streaked with violet or red. Her dress should be pure white.

Lore

Long ago, an infant was mysteriously left in the lush green grass of a forest deep within the isolated mountains of Ionia. Tree spirits found and took the crying child, and raised her as their own. Lacking the ability to see, she used her deep connections with the forest to heighten her other senses, granting her a way to perceive the world without sight. Her spiritual connection to her small wood gifted a small, red rose to take growth within her long hair, linking her body and soul to the forest. Soon, the tree spirits found that she had a dangerous gift of singing. Stories of the Voice of the Wood circulated around, as well as the fortunes that lied deep within the forest. Many plunderers sought those riches, and many were lured to deaths by a sound so sweet and succulent. She had become the guardian. When Noxus invaded the lands of Ionia, Kashu's forest was burned. Helpless, she said goodbye to the family she had known. Her faithful rose shielded her from the Noxians until she could flee from the forest. She became a wandering legend, until she found the gates of the League of Legends.

Kit

Kashu excels well in close-combat teamfights. Using her rose as power and her voice, she can utilize intense CC and protection with small range in exchange for massive amounts of damage in poke other mages have.

Base stats: (Most of these stats are based off of Sona, since Kashu is essentially Sona's twin sister) Health: 520 - 1930 Health Regen: 5.6 - 15 Mana: 330 - 1050 Ranged: 550 AD: 50 - 101 Attack Speed: 0.61 - 0.92 Magic Resist: 30 - 50 Armor: 30 - 70

Passive -- Blind Eye Kashu can use her sense of touch to understand her environment. If she is with 550 units of a stealthed unit (cannot be a ward) for 1 second, they will revealed to her.

EDIT: WAS NAMED "HEIGHTENED SENSES", BUT WAS THE NAME OF ONE OF QUINN'S ABILITIES. CHANGED THE NAME FOR CLARITY

{quoted}

I believe Heightened Senses is also the name of Quinn's W

Q -- Sweet Song Range: 600 Kashu sings a sweet song, charming all champions in a cone for 40 / 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 (+30% AP) //Since this skill is similar to Ahri 's charm, it needed to be significantly weaker since it is an AoE spell. Wildflowers grow around charmed champions. EDIT: ALL CHAMPIONS CHARMED WILL GO TO KASHU, ENAMORED BY HER SWEET SONG

{quoted}

Q - The AOE cone charm sounds really cool to me. Perhaps the effect is wildflowers grow up and enemy champions kind of wander in her direction (giving the idea of being enamored by all that's around them, not just her). If the rng of that is annoying (like fears were) then they might just make it a straight line, meh.

W -- Briar Patch Range: 700 Kashu sings for a vicious briar patch to grow. Champions are hit in a 250-unit radius and are rooted for 0.5 seconds. They are dealt 40 / 120 / 165 / 210/ 265 (+55% AP) and are afflicted with a bleed that ticks away 12 / 15 / 20 / 30 / 50 for three seconds.

E -- Affliction Range: 800 Kashu uses her deadly voice to afflict harm to a target. It deals 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+50% AP).

R -- Emblossom Kashu sings to her rose. The rose expands and encases her in its protective petals, granting her a shield for 150 / 300/ 450 (+15% AP) health. Her allies within 150-unit radius will receive half the shield bonus. While the rose channels for 3 seconds, all units within the 150-unit radius will be slowed. When the 3 seconds ends, they will be drawn into the center of the rose and knocked back to the edge of the radius. Enemies will be dealt 150 / 300/ 450 (+40% AP) magic damage.

Unique Passive: Guardian While Emblossom is not on cooldown, Kashu gains spell damage based on enemy champions present within 800 units. This passive scales with level. Level 6: 2% increased spell damage per enemy champion Level 11: 4% increased spell damage per enemy champion Level 16: 6% increased spell damage per enemy champion

For a total of 30% increased spell champion

Aesthetics

Since I have now covered everything else, I will talk about her design further now.

She has long, blond hair that has violet or red tips in it. A violet or red rose grows at the corner of her face and its vines trickle down her hair. She wears a white, ornamented dress that is worn at the bottom because she has wore the dress for so long. Since she uses her feet to see, they will have to be bare feet she walks on. Her eyes are white because she is blind. She should look Elvish, since she is based off of one.

Wrap-Up

Thanks for reading my concept!

I will continue to update it as new ideas come along and improve upon this champion. I really appreciate up votes and good comments. I am sorry for the crappy art, but I am not an artist and this idea meant so much for me. The scalings are easily adjusted, they're just ideas, anyway. Thank you!

You know, a lot of champion concepts get thrown around, but I feel this one is a gem.

First off, I like the character bio and story, I think it's a cool niche area that hasn't already been explored. She's got the very pure and sweet vibe which would be great. So good setup.

As for the abilities, they seem to have a good focus of cc that works on highly mobile champions. Somebody made a post a while back that Riot needs to make a champ that is a counter to highly mobile champs.

W - Briar patch should maybe also apply a lingering slow? Seems cool

E - This is a point and click? Not much

R - Wait, so this will first pull them towards the center and then push them back out? That seems kind of confusing for what it's trying to do. Maybe it just pulls them in? so she can combo it with w/q. Plus we have janna with the push back, nunu with just damage, so cementing this ultimate as hers would be helpful. (plus the idea of a slow implies keeping them close) You could even put a huge mouth on the rose that chomps on enemies (Kind of like the bloodoak from Edge chronicles).

Not gonna comment on the numbers because those are just temporary ideas and are easily blanaced. It's the kit that's important. I would play totally play this champ and I hope Riot uses this for inspiration on one of their future champs.

Thank you! Her ultimate needed to be very iconic, as she would be singing while it was channeling. Perhaps just a knock back like Lulu's ult would suffice! Though your idea is great too. I don't know, it's just a concept.

I really felt attached to her, even if she was just a creation of my poor sketches.

Do not make all of his abilities having CC... its too OP For a support

Lavaniel1 votes

Agreed. I took slow off of the E. Bleed is weak compared to Darius. Took range from the Q.

I didn't get the impression Kashu is a support.. I mean, she could play the role as a secondary.. but I see her fitting the mage role better. Q- charm them in- W- Root them - E- AP damage (all buffed if R not on cooldown) then finish with R for more damage... seems too aggressive for support, but makes a nice mid.

Lavaniel1 votes

I think the idea for support came from me.

I suggested Kashu be a support or mid because her ult, at this moment in the concept, grants a shield to her team in a radius that is half of what she gets from her blossom.

Lavaniel1 votes

But that's about it, her support capabilities are about like Karma's.

Mister Modesty1 votes

Don't get me wrong- I can see her in the role of support- just not as a primary role. I've played Heimer support, so I know about the AP madness bottom lane. You can win your lane- but take 1 minion and you're the worst support ever.

Lavaniel1 votes

To me, she feels like a mid laner too. She would do well against a Leona support if she got the charm off, but you know. Take one cs, GG ;)

Shes a very good the CC is alittle much and she has good ap rations not the best but good she would work well as a mid laner or support but if shes mainly going to be mid keep the CC she might need it if shes going to be a support remove some of the CC or atleast lower it

Your right! Good find! I'll change. Thanks.

You should try to tweak her abilities to make her play well with Sona. Well- everyone plays well with Sona.. But you could start a chick- metal skin concept. Like "Rocker Girl Kashu" and "Rocker Girl Sona".. OOOHHH here's an idea for the ultimate's passive- The active is "Enblossom", so maybe the 'passive' could be something like "Synthesize"- where she gets bonus AP per level in her ult, and gives half to nearby allies in a radius.. that would give her some teamwork, and Sona could be her friend. The name Kashu is "nutty" to me.

Lavaniel1 votes

That's actually not a bad idea for the ult.

Kashu is just Japanese for Singer. The name can be changed, it's just I didn't know what else to name her, and Sona is a reference to Sonar.

And Lux means light.

Precisely.
