And here we are yet again! It's been a fun and particularly busy month but the CCOS is back with the scores in tow. Now I'll cut to the chase since I'm already running pretty late but we do have a step we can never forget. The judges this month need a huge thanks!

Bearly Leah, JcWolves and DayVigilante

are the ones who deserve a round of applause for tackling this month's entries. There were a lot! We were getting dangerously close to the cap! So seriously, if you see these guys around give them a holler and make sure you let them know they're awesome.

void public anyway

#The winner of the October CCOS is:

#And YOU get something, and YOU get something!

Don't fret if you didn't make the leaderboards, you'll still be entered into the CCOS Official Archive as well as a good chance at getting some useful feedback to your concept from this month's judges.

Find your concept's feedback here! Steps to access:

  1. click link
  2. page 1 (Final Count) is a quick way to see all the scores, switch to Page 2 (Judging) by clicking the tab at the bottom. This is where the specific feedback is.
  3. be sure to scroll to the right to find the feedback for your concept. The spacing can get weird do don't be afraid to zoom out a bit to scroll more evenly!

Be sure to tell me of you have any trouble accessing the document, I'll be sure to help out as much as I can and can give you your score directly if needed.

NOTE: I am currently copying over the feedback as we speak in an effort push the numbers out quicker. Done! Feedback was a bit sparse this month (November's pretty busy) but everyone got something from DayVigilante and Bearly Leah will be watching this thread and responding to any direct questions/comments where she can.

#Next Month!

Judges. Always need em! E-mail me at '[email protected]' with your IGN (in-game username) if at all interested. There's absolutely no harm in giving it a shot! All you need is an interest in concepts, time and an opinion. So unless you're an old time-locked wizard or a unfeeling monstrosity from another dimension you're eligible to judge!

Also, to note on this. There is absolutely no harm in giving judging a shot but having to walk away for whatever reason, time constraints, family, emergencies or otherwise. This all purely voluntary at all points in the process, the only catch is I can only use the scores of someone who finished all the concepts.

Congrats to all our winners!

I have to apologize, I was super duper busy this month with classes and as such wasn't able to get out feedback as I usually desire to. I know you guys put a butt ton of effort into these concepts and feedback is an essential part to improving upon them.

That being said, if anyone does want feedback I'll try to give it here. I just wanted to make sure our overlord Arma had the scores to give out on time.

Thanks for the understanding everyone, and feel free to ask away!

Disclaimer: This isn't a chance at regrading, I still stand behind the scores I gave. I just didn't have the time to write out paragraphs of feedback for everyone.

What the hell? Those scores makes no sense.

I reviewed 7 different champions for bonus points and got 7,6 and 10. First place winner reviewed only one and got 3, 10 and 10. I reviewed more champion concepts than anyone else and i get 23 total score? Could someone explain this?

Originality 15,16 and 20? How? There were literally no champion like mine posted by anyone else over 2 month. Not even close to mine and judges still think that is not original even if he is unique?

I get they might dislike the kit, because it functional, fun and versatile, but how could i get 20, 8 and 15 in lore? Lore is rich, explain eveyrthing about the champion, ties him to another already existing champion and is also unique. I written that stuff in my native langue and translated over hours giving basic scientific explanation of stuff, tried to express his personality and his past into text, but got 43 total score for that? What?

Overall, those scores makes no sense. Not saying they need to be changed, but they definitely need to be explained, because there is no way in hell they are correct to a sane person.

Alright then, I'd just like to make a few things clear about my champ based on some of the feedback. The passive was to be his main source of damage being as I thought to make him a tank main with tank scalings, it's just hard to balance %health scaling and what not, but making it scale with level is a idea I've been toying with. Just couldn't make it work in time as I hard stopped at the deadline. The harrowing update kind of threw me for a loop as to what I thought happened at the shadow isles and I knew that what I already had just wouldn't mesh with it, so then you get the crap shoot I had to leave with. His Q; Yeah, That gave me so much trouble but I have an idea or 2 to make it much better, flow wise and othersuch. W was ment to be a sort of "stab em so they stay still" ability and I'm still pretty ok with it as is; Probably just a few tweeks here an there. E didn't seem to have very many complaints, which is good because that ability went through about 4 or 5 iterations before I got what it is now. R seems to have most confused in one way or another so let me just start off by saying that In the Lore that I going to update to, he was supposed to be an serious/angry kind of guy in life and maybe even angrier in undeath; railing against his fate and so such. As for its damage It might need tuning a bit back, but I'd like to note to JcWolves that it isn't "500 damage per second" but 540 damage OVER 3 seconds. Not your fault, I should have put "total" at the end of it for clarity but I forgot. Now the combo side of him has some stuff in the works to make it clearer. Feel free to check it out in a day or two when I get the time away from classes.

Hey all

I had a blast reading all your champion concepts! Everyone put in so much effort, and there were so many good concepts, with many unique and memorable ideas being displayed. I'd love to judge again some other time, but perhaps not next month. If anyone has any further questions, I'm all ears as well.

@Regonas: The way I scored the bonus category was more on quality rather than quantity, although I did take into account the number of reviews and the effort put forward in each one. Also, I touched on this in my feedback, but I'll perhaps state it more concisely. The lore has the potential to be really good. There are a lot of cool elements to it, but the way that they work together is a little rough around the edges; I don't know what I'm supposed to feel when I'm reading it. Is it supposed to be funny? Tragic? Uplifting? A story about survival? If you could figure out a consistent tone, it would be much better. That being said, with a little touching up it could be really amazing: the concept is very unique and interesting.

After all, 99.99% of the reason we're here is to have fun and improve our concepts (the other 0.01% is to hopefully get noticed by Riot). If I handed out perfect scores to everyone, then what would be the point? I graded all of your concepts somewhat harshly because I feel that each one of them has the potential to be really good, and one that won't be realized unless its flaws are pointed out. Even though this is a competition, there aren't really any prizes; we're all here to have fun and share our ideas.

I would definitely love to join the next competition. [slayer-jinx-wink]

Gotta be honest, I don't really like the way my entry was judged. "Uhm her name is a bit off..." Like...what? A bit off from what? Feels like whoever judged mine didn't attempt to understand the lore behind Yaotl at all, and saying her name is "a bit off" really upsets me. Yaotl is a real name from the Nahuatl language and seeing it disregarded as "off" just...feels bad man.

@DayVigilante

Just curious as to why I got penalised so heavily on Kit. I understand the criticisms you gave about it, but could you go into it a bit more in-depth?

When will we be able to enter champions for this month :D

TheTarians11/20/2015, 2:17:04 AM1 votes

Now, I do not want to sound like a b i t c h, but this was one of the reviews I was given by one of the judges. I am not going to say which judge, because I do not want to call them out on name.

Anyways, I wanted to show just how wrong this person was. IN NO WAY AM I SAYING THAT I DESERVED 1st place, All I am saying is that I should not have been given the score in originality that I was given.

"- Lore is pretty cliche with no real other substance. (Sorry, but where does it state in any of the other champion's Lores that they were abandoned as an infant and then raised by wolves. I am sorry if I am not thinking of one, but there is no other one.)

  • You don't specify how fast the passive stacks (well let's see it says 3% stacking up to 5 times, makes sense that it would stack up to five times, giving up to 15% extra movespeed. Also, if you had taken the time to read you would see that it goes up for every enemy champion)
  • Since you omitted mana costs, I'm assuming the champion is manaless (that is the one thing that I give you, I forgot to take out mana costs.)
  • Similarities to warwick are apparant: was this intended? (If you had cared to read the actual lore, then you would see that Moon looks like more of a human then she does a wolf. Also, the only similarity I see to WW is through her Q, but due to the fact that 1. mine is physical damage and 2. mine does not give her extra lifesteal)
  • 1000 units is a very long range for a dash ability (This was nerfed BEFORE the judging period, please try to look over any changes that may have occurred before the judging period started and to not just think that everyone's ideas stays the same.)
  • Kit is functional, but lacks anything really outstanding or unique (HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHA...... ok, ok I think it is all out..... AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA..... ok I am good now. Unique, let's see. I do not believe there is another passive ability such as mine in the game, there is not another Q such as mine in the game, There is something similar to my W in the game, but that ability does not have the health threshold, Maplh's ult could be compared to my E, but my E is a unit target and not a point target such as Malph's. Also I KNOW FOR A FACT, that there is DEFFINETLEY no other Ultimate such as mine.)
  • Ult is cool, but in gameplay terms not very interesting either. Numbers on the ult are also very strong (300+ unavoidable damage, plus all allies get +50% damage on their next ability?)................................ (look at ekko's damage for his ult then come back to me on the numbers. It is very avoidable damage through armour, which almost every champion should buy in their builds)
  • It also looks like this champion concept is unfinished (While it may seem unfinished, due to no lines or anything like that. I have all that is needed to enter in the CCOS)

Lore and gameplay lack anything really interesting. Lore is cliche ""kid raised by wolves"", gameplay is uninteresting ""basic attack"" champion, which has been done to death before (Warwick, Xin Zhao, Master Yi). Overall the concept works, but it looks like not much thought was put into it. "

void public anyway

function.movingon(results) == true

This made me laugh louder than I should have in a public space.

Glad to hear my good news. I was a bit cheeky with my lore, I believe, and the name dropping was too damn high (DayVigilante). Lol. I must say the about bonus section, that is becoming too much of a contest staple to remain a bonus section. That or maybe I like it so much from what it does for the contest that I personally hold it in that high of a regard.

I think shifting it would feel like trying to fix something that isn't broken. But it's inclusion into the contest has only been a positive thing for me. It's a nice point of discussion, especially with the comments people are speaking about it too.

And now for some "bad" news. I decided that I just can't enter next month's contest due to life constraints. I enjoyed all the entries this month, and best of luck to all future contestants.
