Champion interacting with plants

So, Riot introduced these fun little plants in the jungle in preseason 7.

They were pretty polarizing back then, but I always liked them and I think the majority of people now sees them as a part of the game and many people probably like the gameplay they provide.

Now, since they have settled for some time, I keep thinking that it would be really great to have a champion interacting with these plants with their kit in some way. Would most likely have to be a jungler, since these tend to interact the most with the plants and this position has something that could maybe make this interaction with plants easier: smite.

My idea would be a champion who is able to smite plants, which makes him "harvest" them and alternates his kit based on the type of plant he smited. Thematically, I would like them to be a scientist from Zaun, who tries to cure the diseases caused by the Zaun Grey with tinctures based on plants. We know that chembarons have these cultivairs in which they grow plants, in the story such a champion could break into them to get samples of rare plants and ingredients.

What do you think? Would you like a champion who interacts with the plants on the map or don't you think it would provide interesting gameplay? How do you imagine such a champion to be (from which region? how do they look like? general theme?)? Tell me in the comments!

Making an entire champion centered around plants would be too situational, I'm afraid, since plants can only be found on specific parts of the map with very long intervals.

I'd rather they make interaction with plants a Rune or an Item, if anything.

How about a champion with the ability to kill plants over a large distance somehow.

  • Could be a secondary effect of his ability kit, triggering under certain conditions

  • Could be a primary effect of an ability, giving some sort of bonus for each plant killed

  • Could be a secondary effect of an ability, that has a rather long duration (some self buff for example) (effect should probably only have a rather short range in this case)

  • Killed plants could buff the champion

  • Killed plants could give the champion some sort of vision in their vicinity

  • Plants could be turned into poisonous traps, instead of being killed

  • Or the champion could have an ability with which he can pick up plants and use them later, also reducing their respawn time.
