Yasuo Tweak Idea

What if we changed his passive to grant slightly increased movement speed instead of a shield? It would still help him avoid poke in lane but require him to actually dodge skillshots, increasing interaction and skill expression while decreasing frustration.

This tweak could go further. What if we required Yasuo to have, and expend, a full flow meter by pressing his R key to launch a tornado instead of using his Q three times in quick succession? Learning Last Breath would not be necessary to launch the tornados, of course. This change would let Yasuo choose when to engage and to use the tornado for waveclear or poke instead, while reducing tornado spam.

The passive change is a good idea but it wouldn't work, not everyone gets their dmg from abilities that can be dodged and need to be aimed, Adc and melees/assasins wouldn't give a fuck about the extra ms.

The tornado change sounds like a huge buff to earlygame and a nerf to lategame. I think It's a bad idea, Yas would be capable of using the tornado anytime without any warning or time limit and he would be able to use both Q and tornado at the same time.

More movement speed would help Yasuo position in lane to avoid an all-in or to run from one, though. Besides, many all-ins from point-and-click champions like Jax already kill him. He wouldn’t lose anything.

I see it the other way. Yasuo’s passive stacks pretty slowly. He would get his tornado only once in a while and need to sacrifice his movement speed to launch it. Those changes would hurt his waveclear and poke, reducing his oppression of midlane mages. While that nerf would leave him bad both Top and Mid, it would also create breathing room for him to receive number buffs.

However, as he’d gain MS from Boots, Phantom Dancer, and splitpushing, he would not only stack his passive faster but have the tornado ready whenever he’d want. It would be up for every duel, skirmish, and fight. However, he would probably get only one.

The warning would be his flow meter being full. Q3 is tornado+Q. While a tornado into ultimate over a wall could be frustrating, it would also require Yasuo to camp and ward with no minions to escape across. A tornado to initiate a skirmish or teamfight, however, would be very helpful to his mid and late game.

Ms instead of a shield???? Good on paper, bad in practice. Giving yasuo more mobility is dangerous idea, because the most useful tip when runing from yasuo is to walk out of lane. Giving yasuo ms will make getting away without a dash always cost a summoner 4 or face a quick death.

But any champion damage will break the passive. Toss one spell behind you, and he’s stuck.
