Lunar Revel "Year of the Goat" skin for Soraka?
Lunar Revel, like many other holidays in Runeterra, coincide with Earth holidays. Lunar Revel happens to be infamous for its counterpart, the Chinese New Year. I'm very thrilled that Jinx
is going to get one of those skins, not-so thrilled about Katarina
getting another skin, and I was unaffected by Nidalee
getting a Lunar Revel skin. However, many of these skins, the "Warring Kingdoms" skin line, doesn't have much to do with the lore of Runeterra. But since Lunar Revel is like the Chinese New Year, then each year Riot should release a skin that thematically goes with the champion and follows a skin line. An example: this year is the Year of the Goat. The only goat champion in the game is Soraka
. She's been out for a bit and it wouldn't be too much of a fuss if she got another skin after the Harrowing. A new skin line could be called "Celebrated" or "Ornate" and the skin would follow a kingly theme. Lavish gold spirals and gilded attire should adorn the animal that is cherished to the Chinese people. Maybe a secondary theme color like red, like the Chinese flag, could be accompanied with the wealthy appearance of the nobility of the year. ***I included a photo of a Chinese Empress that could be the inspiration, where Soraka's golden horn would be adorned with an elegant headdress. ***
And since the animal of the year is a repeatable cycle, Riot could release that one skin for each animal only when the animal of the year corresponds to it. Example: if Wukong
receives a Celebrated or Ornate Wukong skin, then it would release in 2016. It would only be available for the duration of Lunar Revel, and then be put into the vault until 2028. However, that is a long time to wait. Riot could simply make each skin available during each Lunar Revel or add them to a bundle that could be purchased in order to get the previous years' skins.
What would make these skins unique is that their spell animations could be like fireworks or like fire. Customers really enjoy skins that make a BANG! And when Wukong's ruby-encrusted staff explodes with color and animation each time he hits someone with it, it is sure to leave an impression, especially in the Asian markets.
Well I want to thank anyone for their criticism and ideas and for reading this. I hope this can become a real, tangible creation. Please feel free to leave comments and criticisms below.
