Assassins: Saboteurs, Sapping Kits, and Traps

Suggestion: add one or more items designed for assassin champions which let them use their stealth/mobility/map-control to do sneaky things behind enemy lines. I feel like the assassin class fantasy can include more than jumping onto enemies and 1-shotting them (which isn't the healthiest fantasy). I think Riot should add a couple 'map control' items to explore this concept of letting assassins play as stealthy saboteurs and trap-specialists.

To encourage these items to be used by assassins instead of other classes, such as utility supports who might take trap items to increase their map vision capabilities, these items could have the Lethality stat and be correctly priced to only appeal to champions who want Lethality and have kits with the stealthy/mobility to back up the 'sneaky saboteur' playstyle.

Ps. Lethality should be an adaptive stat so that AP assassin itemization can be created using it without overlapping with mage items (and AP fighter items if Riot ever adds them). This would allow neutral/hybrid Lethality items, so that both AD and AP assassins can utilize the same "Hextech Land Mines" item if they want to play as a trap specialist for example. If Lethality items start to appeal to much to non-assassin classes, then Lethality scaling like Pyke has could gradually be implemented into assassin kits in order to increase the value they directly receive from Lethality and then the items can be nerfed to make them less efficient for others.

Ps. Ps. Readers, feel free to elaborate on or provide new item concepts that would fit into this theme.

By skill based, do you mean mechanical ability or strategic capability? If the latter, then Saboteur or trap specialist Evelynn might match what you want. Or Elise (she can play similar to an assassin) if she could spin web traps in her kit.

For a new champion, a hextech demolitions saboteur/assassin could be amazing. I'd love one that was viable in jungle and mid, and maybe support when going off-meta with a more utility focused build.

Ah, okay. So that would be mostly mechanically skill focused. Have you tried Nidalee? She is a female assassin jungler who is extremely mechanically difficult. I think she actually takes the most skill out of any champion in the game right now. If you look at her winrate by experience statistics, you'll see that she has a very steep learning curve, which is evidence for her taking a lot of practice to reach her skill ceiling.
