Shi Yee, The Mountain Shaman

Hello Everyone,

I want to introduce a bit of my own culture here again. (I have introduced concepts in the past). I thought it'd be appropriate given that many of the champions are based on superstitions of different ethnic groups. My own ethnic group is not very well known. I am Hmong and I hope to see a champion in league based on my own culture, but that is just something of a fantasy. Anyway, here it goes.

Introduction

This concept is based on an old tale about the greatest shaman ever to exist for the Hmong, Shi Yee. He is known to be very skilled and has even battled the King of Hell before. In the Hmong tradition, shamans use a handheld gong, knife/sword, fabric mask that covers the entire head, bench known as the "horse of the shaman", rings of bells (bells shaped like donuts with a hole at the center for the finger), metal ring (1 foot diameter) with smaller metal rings lining it and an altar. Each of these items are crucial for your average shamanic ritual.

In preparation for the ritual, the altar needs to contain the offerings and necessary items. The sword is placed on the altar or just below it. The Shaman puts on the mask and an assistant helps him by hitting the gong at certain points in the ritual. The shaman begins by sitting on the "horse"/bench and slowly puts himself in a trance while shaking the rings of bells on his fingers and the metal ring on his other hand. He makes this noise like blowing raspberries (and occasionally during the song) before going into the song. Then he occasionally jumps up onto the horse and then back down or stays up there for a period of time. It's said that once the shaman enters the trance, he is technically in the spirit world traveling to where he needs to go.

Other things shamans can do are incense spells for healing/spirit attacks, using certain tree branches to ward off evil spirits, and using their bells or metal ring to attack/trap spirits. Now that you have background story on the concept, lets move on to the league lore Shi Yee will be placed in.

Role: Mid/Support

He wields a short sword on his right hand and his ring bells on his left. His metal ring is on his belt.

** Champion Lore**

Introductory Lore

"After I fled from the villagers, I ran deep into the mountains and trees. I couldn't let them see me like that. They would think me a monster. I looked like some hybrid human beast that had just killed seven Noxian soldiers. I did not know what they would think of me. Thoughts were racing through my mind as I fled. Maybe that is why I did not notice sooner, but before I knew it, I was surrounded by a strange fog."

"I heard... a drum... I think. Or a gong. I am not too sure. Then there was this sort of chant, like a spell or a song. I realized then that I was not alone and whoever it was, they were not here on friendly terms. The bells came not long after that. My head felt like it was going to explode. My body weakened and then as I was trying to regain my composure, a metal ring flew towards me from the fog. It landed perfectly around my neck. After that, I wasn't able to move. My body suddenly felt heavy and I was on the forest floor before I knew it. I couldn't raise my head and all I could see was two pairs of feet. It was then that I smelled the rotting flesh. I wasn't sure if it was from the owners of both pairs of feet or just one of them. I can't remember anything else."

(Will add more lore later if there is interest; if not, this is as far as I will go)

Basic Stats

Attack Range: Melee Resource: Mana

Skills

Passive

Clairvoyant: If Shi Yee stands still for 2 seconds, he is able to "sense" any nearby enemy champions including cloaked/invisible champions. Initially, it will be a radius of 500 units, it expands every 0.5 seconds as follows: 500, 650, 800, and 950. Attacking or casting spells does not break this. Only being displaced or moving will. The "sensed" champions will be outlined in red, but fog of war remains. It is similar to Rek Sai's movement sense ability.

Normal Skills

Q: Spirit Strike/Spirit Cleave

Shi Yee imbues his blade with energy and strikes.

Damage: 30/50/70/90/110 (+50% AP) Range: Melee Cool Down: 7/6/5/4/3 Special Condition: If casted while standing within range of gong, the spell deals double base damage. If within range of altar AND gongs, the spell deals an additional 25% base damage in addition to the double base damage. In either case, instead of striking one target, he cleaves hitting all targets in front of him. Does not get special effect from just altar. Cost: 30/35/40/45/50 Mana

W: Summon Gong

Shi Yee summons his Gong wielding undead assistant. The assistant does not move from the spot it is summoned and lasts until killed or for the duration.

Damage: 10/15/20/25/30 (+10% AP) per second. Range (Cast): Melee or where Shi Yee is standing. Range (Area of Effect): 250/300/350 units Initial Effect: Stuns for 2 seconds spread among all affected targets. (i.e. If there are three targets, each is stunned for 0.66 second.) Constant Effect: All affected enemy targets have their movement and attack slowed by 5/10/15/20/25%. Duration: 1 minute Health: 3 auto attacks Cool Down: 34/32/30/28/26 seconds. It starts after the duration is up. Special Condition: If placed in range of altar, the gong deals an additional 10/20/30 damage (based on R rank), stuns for an additional 1 second and slows for an additional 15%. Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 mana

E: Metal Ring Throw

Shi Yee throws his metal ring to capture his enemy. The ring will only affect enemy champions and if it does not hit anything, it will land at max range and remain there for 1.5 seconds.

Damage: 60/80/100/120/140 (+40% AP) Range: 700 units Effect: Roots the enemy champion for 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5 seconds. Cool Down: 16/14/12/10/8 seconds Special Condition: If casted while standing in range of gong, the root effect duration is doubled. If in range of altar AND gong, Shi Yee will additionally be able to teleport to the target or wherever the ring landed. Does not get additional effect from just altar. Cost: 50/60/70/80/90 Mana

R: Set Altar/Dark Ritual

Shi Yee sets up his altar where he stands on the first cast. Shi Yee will perform the dark ritual if casted again while standing within range of altar.

Altar Effect: The altar provides 10/15/20% movement speed within its radius of effect for allies and the caster. Altar Area of Effect: Same as Gong. Altar Duration: 1 minute Altar Health: 4 auto attacks Altar Cool Down: 60/50/40 seconds. Cool Down Starts after duration. Altar Cost: 50/50/50

Dark Ritual Effect: The affected target will lose vision (like Nocturne's ult) and move slower every 0.5 second that passes. 50/60/70% movement slow. Dark Ritual Damage: 10/20/30 (+10% AP) + 2/4/6% of Missing Health per 0.5 second. Dark Ritual Duration: 2/3/4 seconds. Dark Ritual Cool Down: 160/140/120 seconds. Dark Ritual Range: 5000 units Special Condition: Shi Yee must NOT move while casting dark ritual and is unable to do anything else during this time. If displaced or if an action is taken, the ritual is canceled. Dark Ritual Cost: 50/50/50

Overall, I imagined him to be a melee mage similar to Kassadin. Thanks for reading and feel free to provide feed back.

i like the spread out stun mechanic - however, i feel it should have a minimum stun length that exists regardless of target amount. Champion has very respectable base damage, ridiculous (probably too high) single target CC potential and somewhat lackluster scaling in comparison - tanky bruiser or support material, i'd say.
