Abilities that should apply the "grounded" debuff

Taliyah's unraveled earth should apply it for .5 second for each rock hit. (max 2 seconds per E)

Anivia's fully formed storm should apply it when standing in it.

As an Anivia main I think that might be a tad bit op to have her ultimate have grounded, even if only fully formed. Though I'll admit that I have thought about it myself but as time went on and I get to experience grounded more from Cassiopeia, the thought of Anivia having it really felt a bit much lol.

Feel free to add to the list, or other newer mechanics that could work on different champ skills.

I think the grounded debuff needs to be realistic to the ability like both cassie and singed spray the ground with things that would be sticky. You should still be able to move even if you're caught in a storm... and actually, a storm with heavy winds would be more likely to pick you off the ground than pin you to it, i would think.

I kind of wonder how the grounded debuff would add/detract to the dynamic of Camille's ult and I think a grounded debuff would make more sense for Sejuani's Glacial Prison and Nunu's Absolute Zero, since it's more of a trap than Anivia's storm. However, especially in the case of Nunu, I think a grounded debuff would be overpowered and allow for little to no counter play.

It would make sense for Alistar's trample, since he's literally "trampling" over you. I also think that if Fizz lands his ult, it would make sense if the player it lands on is grounded, with other players within the shark's radius still able to flash & dash away before it jumps up. Not only would this be a really cool mechanic (imo), it would actually help players stop from panicking and wasting flash after getting hit with it... something I've done more than once.

Not that they are very hard to walk out of, but I think it might be cool if Jhin's traps applied the grounded debuff.

Karma's empowered q aoe

KogMaw's void ooze makes the most sense to me and i'm a little surprised it doesn't already apply it, tbh

Lissandra's ult could freeze you to the ground if you're caught in its radius

Viktor's gravity field also makes total sense... he's literally playing with gravity

Does Fizz really need ground on his R tho? XD

none of these champions need it. but i think it would add some interesting dynamics. and like i said, i think added grounded to fizzes R if he lands it and only on the player it lands on could actually help people save their flashes.

Not a fan of adding Ground to Fizz in the slightest.Assassins should be left with a low amount of CC.

  • glacial prison shouldnt unless you mean upon stun in which case theyre stunned anyways.
  • absolute zero shouldnt since hes sapping the heat from you not freezing you to the ground.
  • trample sure.
  • fizz ult no, youre in water not like in water with concrete shoes.
  • jhin traps would be needlessly strong with grounding however it would fit thematically with the name.
  • empowered q, no it does too much damage to also ground, perhaps empowered w during lash
  • void ooze no, since its stickyness is thematically second to its corrosiveness aka its meant to do damage not just cc
  • liss ult i vote yes on since it fits thematically and also the slowness of the aoe makes its multitarget damage unreliable, grounding would mkae the persistent slowfield actually have some use rather than its current uselessness
  • gravity field absolutely moreso than any other skill on this list, it even has knockdown so it should clearly have grounded

Nasus's Wither.Tweaking it additionally might be necessary ,but I think it would be a good change.

JarodDempsey1 votes

id vote no, youre already slowed soooo much, even flashing doesnt really do much since the wither lasts for so long that its as effective as a shorter duration root

PokladnicaZla1 votes

˝Tweaking it might be necessary˝

If it were to be turned into a ground, there's literally no way the slow would be left strong as that.

idk at least now, champs with more than flash can blow their cooldown to escape but i just dont think that it fits thematically, like how would wither prevent someone from activating a teleport spell or engaging boosters on their airplane

You become too old to tp ,which could cause health risks?

So have literally no counterplay to the spell beyond CC'ing him?

Morgana's dark soil.

Braum and rumble's ultimates.

Corki's package delivery or whatever it is called.

i thought about these but

  1. morgana's dark soil is too low cd (especially after recent changes) and too big a part of her damage to have it constantly be grounding champions. if grounding champs became the focus of her kit they would need to remove a lot of her damage to make up for it, truly pigeonholing her into support.

  2. braum's ult is already a knock up and it would be a little ridiculous that his single ability could chain cc champs from a knock up into grounded

  3. similarly rumble's ult already slows champs down a ridiculous amount while doing a truckload of damage and it would be a bit crazy to also have it be grounded without getting rid of the slow or reducing the damage to cassie's w range... which doesn't make sense bc it's his ultimate. on top of this, it wouldn't really make sense that it could ground you just by shooting rockets at the ground (as opposed to things like singed's quicksand etc)

  4. i don't think it would work thematically, again, bc it just wouldn't make sense that something like his package delivery would ground you

  • dark soil no itd make her ability to land her root too easy by limiting where or when you can dodge
  • braum ult only on targets not effected by the knockup
  • corki and rumble aoe no since its firey not ice or more purely magic
