Baha the champ literally just got announced and already calls of OP. You do realise it costs mana per second, and if you're within melee range of him you don't get hit by them? Or heck, when he expands them you can just move WITHIN the range. Also, crowd control that would disable spells (silence, suppression ect) also disables his passive like it was a normal ability.

Well, I personally have my concerns. Not gonna call for broken or OP quite yet. I only do once I see them played and play against them a lot.

My first concern is definitely the permanent orbitals. I had thought they would detonate and then take time to come back. Since they don't the concern with this is just how much damage they deal and how they scale. Especially applying spell effects. Getting hit by those with Rylai's is going to definitely be a problem. Though, it does have mana over time on the enhanced version, the video showed that the damage to mana ratio is extremely tilted in favor of the damage. The mana over time was barely even noticeable. What was maybe 1/100 of his mana did almost 3/4ths of his enemies health almost.

Then there is that damage and AoE stun. An AoE stun which (from just counting it) is approx. a 2s stun. An AoE 2s stun btw. His teamfights are going to be so strong. If he the cooldown on this ability is low just imagine the amount of stunning going on. I would think it would be worse than Anivia's since it has a much bigger radius.

Those are my two main concerns. I'm guessing he is a mage correct? That means he gains access to ALL of the extremely powerful AP items. That guarantees his damage is going to be high. Simply have item 3174 item 3135 item 3116 item 3040 item 3089 item 3020 and he's going to hurt a lot. The slow from Rylai's mixed in with the damage he will have, add in the stun from his Q and the huge amount of mana....his orbitals will be decimating to enemies caught by it.

And so these things combined (with the ultimate being pretty much a shortened, wider version of a Lux ult, but with an added slow and knock back) will make him extremely hard to lane against (as even they stated in the release). Thus, as the poster said. If they go bot then good luck. That constant ranged damage (even at mana per second) will put so much pressure.

Of course, you bring up good points. They are weak physically, so if people play smart they can get in close to them and wreck their face before being able to do anything. Of course, they have the AoE stun and Ultimate knockback to counter said attempts at melee.

In the end I will wait an see. Still waiting on a few tweaks to Illaoi, but it seems everyone thinks she's fine even though she can go pure tank and just tear into peoples health. shrugs That's bruisers/Juggernaughts for you though. :|

True, but that is at level 18 when the ability is at it's strongest, while the enemy stood perfectly still in it. According to the wiki, it would be dealing (70+50+30%AP (base not listed at time of posting) )x1.5. While that is a lot, you have to also realise that the enemy would constantly be moving. I would imagine someone like Diana would most likely counter him, as she would be within melee range of him if engaging, or have a small hitbox if trying to escape.

Then there is that damage and AoE stun. An AoE stun which (from just counting it) is approx. a 2s stun. An AoE 2s stun btw. His teamfights are going to be so strong. Again also true, but again there is a set distance to them. Provided he does get the stun, the enemy will be hit at best 3 times by them, but that's provided he also stands still. Remember, this isn't an area of effect like a Karthus E. Should he move towards or away from the enemy, he moves himself out of a damaging position.

And so these things combined (with the ultimate being pretty much a shortened, wider version of a Lux ult, but with an added slow and knock back) will make him extremely hard to lane against (as even they stated in the release). I wouldn't go so far as to compare it to a Lux ult. The cooldown timer for one thing is significantly higher, meaning that it is not prone to spamming. While those within his 'Outer Limit' are knocked back from this, it knocks them back to its edge, meaning again that the enemy can decide to reengage or retreat. While I'm not going to deny that the slow it applies while be devastating against some champs, he again has to move very subtly towards or away from his opponent to try and match them.

Of course, you bring up good points. They are weak physically, so if people play smart they can get in close to them and wreck their face before being able to do anything. Of course, they have the AoE stun and Ultimate knockback to counter said attempts at melee.

The stun only applies once it exceeds his 'Outer Limit', meaning that those within melee range will not be stunned. So if a Leona were to combo on to him, his only option to escape would be to ult. His speed boost/escape on his E is cancelled the second he takes damage from a champion or tower, so he can't use that as a means of escape.

In the end I will wait an see. Still waiting on a few tweaks to Illaoi, but it seems everyone thinks she's fine even though she can go pure tank and just tear into peoples health. shrugs That's bruisers/Juggernaughts for you though. :|

Fair nuff. At first glance it's very easy to see him as pretty broken, but the more you look at his kit the more you can see where the counter-play is. He's the kind of champion that once caught without his ult will be in quite a bit of trouble I think.

I didn't know the wiki had more information on his abilities. In fact, didn't know his wiki was up. Lol.

If the stun doesn't apply until it reaches outside of his outer limit, then that is actually a lot better than I thought. That means there is a pre-requisite for it then. Though, if that is the case can the enemy see where this outer limit is going to be? I mean, it might just have a visual to go by which would be completely fine imo, but just curious cause sometimes if you're against an enemy with a pre-requisite it's hard to tell when that is going to take place. Take Annie's passive for example. As far as I know there is no visual for it and therefore hard to predict unless you're counting her spells.

EDIT ABOUT STUN: Just read the wiki, and it says "Upon exiting the Outer Limit OR reactivating Starsurge it will explode, damaging and stunning enemies. So, it doesn't actually have to leave the outer limit. He can just reactivate it for it to stun. Well, RIP the thought of being in melee range saving you. T_T

And yeah, they definitely won't be standing still compared to the trailer. That is true. Though in a team fight or when things get hectic with everything flying everywhere it will get much harder to deal with them, and could even lose track of them. But I get the point.

Diana will probably be a counter to Aurelion, which is great cause she is someone I main in Mid next to Brand and Lux. xD

As for me comparing it to Lux's ult. I only did so in that it has a similar beam like burst, but with a wider width to it and a slow. That's all. Other than that they are completely different.

But, most likely I will save the IP (cause I have no RP T_T) to get him, and he will most likely be my other Mid Main, replacing Lux as my third.

Ah you're right. I either missed it (I honestly didn't look at his announcement page I was just looking at the wiki and surrenderat20) or it was added after. My apologies. But I still wouldn't count out melee range. While the cooldown/duration is pretty hefty, it doesn't exactly counter melee play. It gives him a chance to retreat potentially. I still feel champs such as Leo, Blitz, Malph and Ali will be good bot lane given their potential for reengage after the stun, or someone like Darius and Wu outside of lane.

Also completely true. From what I've seen so far (with the very limited footage that is out), people are either extremely aware of it's presence, or completely oblivious and do things like run away while in range of it.

Ye she probly could.

Fair enough. Sorry that may have come across as unintentionally harsh.

Everything said and done, I can't think of the last champ that was announced and wasn't called OP. His passive is on the stronger side no doubt, but it's still early days and I can see a lot of nerf coming his way once people really get a handle on him, in particular the fact that it applies spell effects and the cooldown on his stun.

Well, most of the champions released have been a bit strong. Some are still strong (like, imo, Illaoi). Though of course this is all relative and depends on peoples experiences. Most of what made them strong has gotten tweaked to be a bit more balanced. Though I do wish they would look at Illaoi...but that's my opinion. Most say she's fine so it's whatever. Anyways...

but it's still early days

It is indeed. That's why I say I am cautious. Things can definitely change once he's released. Hence why I am reserving much of my criticism until he is released. Which is what I did with Illaoi...and my caution with her makes me dread going against one.

the cooldown on his stun.

I just noticed that. Holy hell. With 40% CDR that's roughly 4.8s (so let's say 5 since LoL probably rounds up). For 2s of that at max rank your enemy is stunned. So it might as well be a 3s CD. Then they can just be stunned again after that 3s. Damn. And with the one mastery that's 45% CDR which would make the CD roughly 3-4s. Well that will definitely probably be tweaked.

I mean, it IS his main damaging ability so it has to be able to be cast relatively fast, but with that stun on it...Imo I don't think they thought it through. I would put the stun to 1s throughout the ranks. Cause an AoE stun is strong. Stuns are strong in general. There is literally nothing you can do against them except build the boots for them or try to avoid it, but it being an AoE is hard.

Overall, we'll see.

Basically from my theorizing, getting will of the ancients, ryalai's, Liandry's, and mercury treads are perfect on him. Seraphs embrace gives tons of ap due to his 1250 mana pool, and a roa helps out even more.

whenever i play Jhin i am going to ask my support to be sol for the constant snare triggers and free poke

its so funny when koreans started using mid laners for support, and certain mid laners got their role on the info page changed to support because of this, and their kits nerfed in the process (lol zyra new urgot)

and anytime some one suggests an "off meta pick" its bashed until koreans abuse it.
