WHAT: Make Ryze's ultimate an AOE Circle that he can put where he wants which will stop damage from entering or exiting the circle which you cannot leave. (I.E. he can cast it in an area and you won't be able to do damage to people outside of it and people can't do damage to the inside of it) https://imgur.com/sVpF2OE

WHY: Ryze has dominated in professional play due to his fast waveclear, his huge teamplay ultimate, and his raw damage. In solo queue however his ultimate seems lackluster at best and actually harmful to your team at worst. If your allies split up you could easily cost a game with his current ultimate. An ultimate like this would give him more utility without giving him more burst damage to nuke your team with, while still maintaining his playability in high elo and pro play.

POTENTIAL OF PLAYMAKING: This concept does not take away from the playmaking aspect of Ryze's ultimate because it allows you to seclude parts of teams to duel inside of a circle based on where Ryze casts.

Some potential plays you could make: -Trapping a jungler outside/inside of a Baron buff or drake to secure (Giving Ryze stong objective control) -Protecting a teammate from a dive -Making a dive (Trapping your team under a turret in the process of diving to keep the enemy under with you) Et cetera

BALANCE CONSIDERATIONS Some things a Riot dev team might have to consider: -Interactions with Ignite, DoT, and Ultimates like Zed's ult -Interaction with Neutral monsters -Feasibility with other champion interactions (looking at Sylas. though presumably Riot made their game future proof ) -Size of ultimate -Cast range. (Should Ryze have to get really close?) -THE CURRENT PBE CHANGES. ([9.12 Cycle] Should Ryze W Slow? Does he need mana scaling with shield on his passive?)

Conclusion I think this Ultimate provides lots of teamplay while still keeping Ryze a high skill cap champion.
