New Champ - Rasha?

The Mid Season Invitational trailer appears to show the new champ at about the 45 second mark. It’s pretty much in the center of the frame and is looking straight at the audience. Ties up with being a ‘deeper, darker’ champion, and certainly looks like it would relish the opportunity to ‘drown champions by their own hands’.

Almost certainly the new champ – all aboard the hype train.

Is it Rasha, though, from Nami’s lore? According to Nami lore, Rasha was chosen to be Tidecaller due to his prudent, level head in battle; a warrior. After diving into the depths, however, he was never to return.

The shoulder piece sported by the fellow in the water in the video does not look like something that a sea ‘creature’ would wear, and does look rather warrior-like, with its spiky appendages.

I’m reluctant to believe that the large creature swimming in the view of the porthole in the original teaser is the new champion. Unless they are planning on doing some type of floating/scaled down type thing that they did with the galactic dragon that is A’Sol, I don’t see how they could have a whale-sized (at least) creature roaming around the Rift with its tiny little flippers. Would have to swim through the air or something. Don’t see that happening.
