[Champion Concept] Annes, Liberator of Souls

Lore: This is connected to in-game lore.

Once tormented and brutalized by a sadistic creature, Annes' soul escaped ensnarement. Annes now seeks to rescue all trapped souls. "All souls are trapped until they leave their initial vessel." -Annes

Statistics: Bare with me. I know my stats are all over the place. I am not good at balancing a game I have never worked on.

Health: 578 - 2023 Health Regeneration: 6.8 - 20.4 Mana: 326 – 1091 Mana Regeneration: 6.0 - 19.6 Range(Melee): 175 Attack Damage: 58 - 114 Attack Speed: 0.625 (+0% - 38.3%) Armor: 24.4 - 78.8 Magic Resistance: 32.1 - 53.4 Movement Speed: 345

Cold Touch (Passive): This is a sheen-like effect that applies a slow.

After using an ability, Annes' next basic attack slows her target's movement speed.

Cooldown: 1.5 seconds • Duration: 1.5 seconds • Levels: 1/6/11/16 • Slow: 25/30/35/40%

Reaper Dash (Q): This is like Yasuo's Sweeping Blade (E).

Annes dashes through target enemy, dealing magic damage. The speed of the dash scales with Annes' bonus movement speed.

Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds • Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 mana • Damage: 70/90/110/130/150(+60% ability power) • Range: 475

Quick Parry (W): This is Fiora's Riposte (W) active.

Annes parries the next basic attack within 1.5 seconds and deals magic damage to the attacker. Works against champions, large monsters, and large minions.

Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds • Cost: 45 mana • Damage: 60/110/160/210/260(+100% ability power)

Grim Flay (E): This is Thresh's Flay (E) active.

Annes drags her scythe in a broad line towards a target direction. Enemies hit take magic damage, are knocked in the same direction as the scythe, and are slowed afterwards for 1 second.

Cooldown: 9 seconds • Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana • Damage: 65/95/125/155/185(+40% ability power) • Range: 400 (800 total) • Slow: 20/25/30/35/40%

Possession (R): This ability is rather unique. I copied stats from Malzahar's Nether Grasp (R).

Annes blinks to an enemy champion, suppresses the target and becomes untargetable for 2.5 seconds. Annes can still cast abilities, but she cannot move and takes the same amount of damage as the target during this time.

Cooldown: 120/100/80 • Cost: 100 mana • Range: 700

I want a scythe wielding badass to join the fight on the Fields of Justice. As she is right now, I do not think Annes is the scythe wielding badass I want. For her E, my original thought was that she would swing her scythe around in a circle and drag enemies, in range, behind her original facing direction.

Give me some feedback. How can I improve this concept? Can you think of more unique abilities to give a scythe wielder? Can you guess which champions or characters Annes has ties to? I often make mistakes. Feel free to embarrass me. :P

Change Log:

13/4/2015: • Added Art • Updated Ultimate from: Annes suppresses her target and becomes untargetable for 2.5 seconds. Annes takes the same amount of damage as her target does and she controls her target while Possession persists. Using E ends this effect early. to: Annes blinks to an enemy champion, suppresses the target and becomes untargetable for 2.5 seconds. Annes can still cast abilities, but she cannot move and takes the same amount of damage as the target during this time.

Not bad of a concept, someone like this could definitely fit in with league's other champs.

But the abilities seem... random for what she is. A "scythe wielding badass" as you put it, yet she has an ability where she parries an attack...? It's just so random. Why does she need this? She isn't Fiora. So I'll have a try at the abilities:

Passive could be more interesting. She's a tormented soul liberator, you'd think she'd have some kind of cool passive that ties in with her background. Perhaps a Thresh-like passive? Like an opposite to his, where she frees souls from slain champions (maybe allies?) and it empowers her or one of her abilities (like nasus Q). Something to make her like a late game hyper-scaling carry, she's a scythe wielding badass, remember.

Her Q is alright. But does she dash to the enemy, or through them like fizz's Q (always travels a set distance)? If it's a set distance then it might cause problems with her positioning, so maybe applying the current passive's slow to this could help her reach her target after dashing.

W... unnecessary, you should remake this ability entirely. Perhaps a stun ability? Or a self heal, which makes sense for a scythe wielder as they are usually portrayed as someone who drains the life force of others.

E is interesting, I think having it circular would be better like you mentioned. You don't wanna have a lame Thresh E rip-off.

R is what defines your champion, and I think it's just perfect, aside from being able to control the target. You never mentioned her being a mind-controller or anything, besides it would make this ultimate OP. I think this ability would go well with a healing ability like I mentioned before (W), so she could heal up after ulting someone. This ability would encourage people to build HP on her however, so keep that in mind when developing her abilities. Maybe have the HP drain percentage based so then people won't feel obliged to build HP.

Overall she captures the essence of a champion we could (or might eventually) see joining the league. For champion ties, Thresh seems like the only candidate. Maybe she could be Lucian's wife, forever changed by having her soul captured? Hold on a minute... Her name is Senna... and your champ's name is Annes...

I see what you did there.

Souls. Scythe. Hmmm... Thresh...

That aside, here's what I think:

Passive: Sort of random. If you come up with a different passive it wouldn't be a bad thing.

Q: A random dash.

W: Really random.

E: We don't need two champs with scythes that have to do with souls AND have flay.

R: Weird. Untargetable suppression that lets your allies kill you. Maybe not the best idea.

Overall: I'd suggest an overhaul with abilities. Right now it's a jumble of random abilities without much synergy at all.
