[Champion Concept] Qadira, the Iron Shadow

Lore: Little is known about Qadira before she joined the Order of Shadows. It is assumed that Qadira is from Bandle City, however Zed suspects that this is incorrect. Qadira trains with Zed constantly. Qadira is no natural with the shadows and she frustrates easily, but she never stops training.

Qadira challenged Zed to a spar. Zed had easily beaten Qadira the day before, but she was confident that she could beat him today. Zed accepted the sparring match, but was aggravated with Qadira's confidence and opened with a deadly fury. Qadira kept up with the strikes at first but fell behind and started taking hits like she usually did. Zed finished his assault against Qadira and found himself winded. Surely that flurry of attacks would belittle Qadira and her arrogant confidence. To Zed's surprise, Qadira arose from the dust and struck back at him. Zed thought he knocked Qadira to the ground, but she stood there appearing to be unscathed from his assault. Zed retreated and gracefully accepted defeat. Qadira had finally mastered her defensive techniques of the shadow.

Zed asked Qadira to join him in his efforts against the Kinkou in the Fields of Justice. It is her indestructible iron shadow techniques that should tip the scales in his favor.

Statistics:

  • Health: 571 – 2016
  • Health Regeneration: 6.2 – 17.2
  • Energy: 200
  • Energy Regeneration: 50
  • Basic Attack Range: 125 (Melee)
  • Attack Damage: 60 – 114
  • Attack Speed: 0.658 (+0% – 51.0%)
  • Armor: 24.9 – 84.4
  • Magic Resistance: 32.1 – 53.4
  • Movement Speed: 345

Kit: Passive: Shadow Culling - Qadira's basic attacks apply a debuff for 3 seconds that can stack up to 3 times. Each stack lowers armor and magic resist by 3%. Qadira gains all armor and magic resistance lost in this way as a buff for the duration.

Q: Clinging Shadow - Qadira throws her blade forward in a line, dealing magic damage to the first enemy it hits and marking them for 4 seconds, revealing them. Qadira and allied champions gain 30 movement speed when moving towards a marked enemy.

  • Cooldown: 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 seconds
  • Cost: 50 energy
  • Damage: 60/100/140/180/220(+60% ability power)
  • Range: 500

W: Blinding Darkness - Qadira's next basic attack deals bonus magic damage and blinds her target for a duration. Qadira's target may attack her as though they are not blind, but she gains 40 energy per attack.

  • Cooldown: 8 seconds
  • Cost: 60 energy
  • Damage: 40/65/90/115/140(+60% ability power)
  • Duration: 1.5/1.75/2/2.25/2.5 seconds

E: Shadow Healing - Qadira instantly blinks to a target nearby location, leaving behind a targetable shadow clone. The shadow is uncontrollable and cannot move or attack. When dying, it will explode, dealing magic damage in a radius of 175. After 1.5 seconds, it will vanish, healing Qadira for 200% of its current health. The shadow clone's health will start with what Qadira spent for health (10%).

  • Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 seconds
  • Cost: 80 energy and 10% current health
  • Damage: 50/85/120/155/190(+50% ability power)
  • Range: 300

R: Shadow Form - Qadira transforms into a 150-radius cloud of shadow, ignoring unit collision, gaining 37.5% bonus movement speed that decays exponentially for 1 second and blocking the next enemy ability used on her for 4 seconds. Enemies who stand within the cloud are slowed by 40% and will have their vision reduced to 675-range. While using Shadow Form, Qadira cannot autoattack.

  • Cooldown: 80/70/60 seconds

Cool but ultimates only have 3 ranks not 5 unless she can get 2 more levels then other champs.

Just throwing this out there: I'm not trying to be a jerk and tear down what you're doing. I'm just trying to point out areas where you might be able to improve. Feel free to disagree.

Is she a bruiser or an assassin? If she's a bruiser (which seems to be the intent), her attack speed is insanely high. If she's an assassin, she's a bit too beefy for a champ that gets armor/MR steal. Also, you're missing lv18 MR.

I think you have a pretty good well-rounded kit for a bruiser, but I'm having issues with the ultimate. She transforms into a cloud that has increased MS and a slowing radius (so a Vladmir W but with a slow). If I'm understanding correctly, it's a spell shield with a mandatory teleport at the end, and she's still targetable by auto attacks? I'm having trouble with an aoe cloud being targetable at all; I'd rather see her go invulnerable. Stabbing a cloud of shadows just feels awkward. Also, I don't feel like her ult is as impactful and meaningful as an ult should be. It just feels like another tool in the kit.

As a fix (again, feel free to disagree/modify/steal as much as you like), here's an alternate view on her kit:

Q: Blinding Darkness (adapted from E) Qadira throws a poisoned knife in a straight line, dealing magic damage and blinding the first enemy hit for a duration. Qadira's target may attack her as though they are not blind, but she gains 40 energy per attack.

  • Cooldown: 8/7/6/5/4 seconds
  • Cost: 60 energy
  • Damage: 40/65/90/115/140(+60% ability power)
  • Duration: 1.5/1.75/2/2.25/2.5 seconds

W: Shadow Healing (No changes. Couldn't help but call it dream eater while I was looking at this, lol)

E: Path of Shadows (adapted from R) FIRST CAST - Qadira hurls a shadow grenade, creating a 150-radius slowing field that affects enemy units and champions that move through it. If Qadira is targeted by a spell or large minion while standing within the radius, the ability is blocked and Bending Shadows can be activated again within the next 2 seconds. Bending Shadows can be self-cast to instantly deploy Bending Shadows on the area that Qadira is located.

  • Cooldown: 22/20/18/16/14 seconds
  • Cost: 100 energy

SECOND CAST - Qadira instantly teleports behind the enemy unit whose attack was affected by Path of Shadows.

R: Clinging Shadow (adapted from Q) Qadira throws her blade at a target enemy champion that deals magic damage and marks them for 4 seconds, revealing them. Qadira and allied champions gain 25/30/35 movement speed when moving towards a marked enemy.

  • Cooldown: 110/90/70 seconds
  • Cost: None
  • Damage: 175/290/350(+60% ability power)
  • Range: 650

I did this so that the shield is a little more accessible and has some included utility. It's still a high CD/cost skill as you had it before, so that it has to be used situationally and smartly. It also provides her with an incentive to land the shield, just like most champions with spell shields. I thought it provided a nice unique factor as well, because I couldn't think of any skills of the top of my head that functioned quite like that (Akali being the closest example). Also, this way it doesn't force you to take the teleport if you're trying to flee rather than advance.

I thought your Q would make a better ult because if you use it it should be a guaranteed kill almost every time. In cases where it isn't a guaranteed kill, it still provides a large movespeed boost for your allies when fights get initiated or they're trying to clean up after one. Also, I don't think you need two damaging skills in normal fights when the first is on such a short CD. With these changes, she's a bit on the squishy side but has two damage mitigation skills and a passive that gives her extra tankiness. As a bruiser kit, it allows you to build extra tanky and provide lots of utility or build damage and potentially carry.

Just my two (or twenty) cents. Hope I don't offend by throwing such a heavy take on your build.

I'd recommend making it so that the buff steals Armor/MR for the duration, just for clarity.

Just a a lore note, it doesn't really fit zed's personality in my opinion to ask Qadira to join her. The mechanics are for someone else but i'd suggest the above event and Zed casting her out in rage because of her aforementioned confidence. She then joins the league to take out her revenge on Zed and the Kinkou order. Just thinking that would be pretty rad.
