Aetheis the Apprentice of Magic Because of his/her exposure to a myriad of powerful magic in his life without a teacher, he discovered his own skill set improperly

Passive Since Aetheis is still growing, every time s/he casts a spell, his/her maximum mana capacity is increased. Also, for the same reason, his/her initial mana capacity is pitiful compared to the great mages of League, only enough to cast a few "Basics of Mana". S/He also gains a mana shield in the flight time of his/her E. It replaces his/her hp bar with his mana bar during the flight and ends upon landing.

-Q-Basics of Mana Many mages would just launch a basic ball of mana with a thought, but due to Aetheis's past, s/he uses physical actions(like throwing) to trigger the most basic of spells. In this case, s/he stole this idea from Ryze because it was the first spell s/he witnessed in his/her life, with his/her own tweak to it. It is a homing projectile and causes a ministun(.1 seconds?) upon contact.

Fixed Range.

-W-Delayed Spells Upon being subjected to Janna's life saving shield and ZIgg's explosions, some aspects of both champions were embedded in this spell. However, Aetheis can not use "Basics of Mana" while this spell is active because of the delay mechanic.

When W is pressed, a "delay state" is triggered for a duration. During this time, if you press Q, a status effect will show on Aetheis with the number of times you pressed Q during the W duration.

Upon pressing W a second time, the stacks are consumed, and the number of stacks will be equal to the number of flaming wind spheres that launch out simultaneously in a spinning circle with the flat part perpendicular to the ground. These spheres are not homing projectiles, does damage, and like how graves's aa knocksback minions, these spheres do the same while in contact.

The number of spheres determines the damage and knock(or push)back. If you do not release W when the duration expires, you take self inflicted portion of full damage and the same amount of knockback backwards because you are still a half-assed mage with room to grow.

Range increases with rank.

-E-Wrong Target Discovered by experimenting with physical triggers, an EXPLOSION spawns somewhere behind Aetheis.
This EXPLOSION launches Aetheis a (min/max)distance, and the distance determines damage and AoE of the EXPLOSION.
Since Aetheis discovered this without much foresight, s/he panicked and made a bugged shield spell to protect him/herself during the EXPLOSION, making the mana cost higher than usual spells. An EXPLOSION occurs at both the take off and landing.
Q and W can still be used while E is in mid flight because of the bugged shield spell that makes the ride comfortable. Can be interrupted only by hard cc. Aetheis can never land on the same spot he took off. Range increases with rank.

-R-Broken Portal A person sized portal is created in front of Aetheis's face, and consumes all spells and attacks that touch it for several seconds. A portion of the damage consumed consumes his/her mana. Touching the portal causes damage, so in order to pass through it and teleport, one must use a "jump spell", in this case, Aetheis uses "Wrong Target". The portal can only be created with a target in sight, and the target is exposed for the duration of the spell to prevent the spell from losing its destination. Range is global but restricted to enemy champion in sight. Upon flying through the portal with "Wrong Target", the landing damage and AoE is set to 1.25/1.5/1.75 of the maximum damage and AoE without the portal because of exposure to the other world inside the portal. "Basics of Mana" cd % increases with rank but the effectiveness of CD is halved on "Wrong Target".

I'll leave the numbers to the comments or Riot. I do not know what s/he will look like so I look forward to someone who can post the best conceptual look of Aetheis.
I also leave the gender to you guys, even though the Lore keeps saying "he".

Alrighty, I've taken a look, and I think I've got the idea of how to word these spells. I've also tweaked them a little, though I'm trying to keep in line with what you've already written. All pro-nouns can be replaced without any trouble: I just used male because they take less characters XD

Aetheis, The Arcane Apprentice A Dcchau Champion Idea

Abilities: Live and Learn (innate): Aetheis is just beginning to tap into his potential. Every time he uses an ability, he expands his knowledge of sorcery and magic, causing his mana pool to increase. Aetheis will gain more mana depending on the rank of the ability he casts. (2 mana per rank. This is doubled for his Ultimate) Aetheis can store a maximum of 250 mana, plus an additional 50 mana per level above the first, to a maximum of 1100 mana at level 18.

In addition, as Aetheis furthers the mastery of his spells, he learns the secrets of conserving mana. All of Aetheis's basic abilities can be cast for half of their mana cost if he has his filled at least half of his mana pool and is currently below 10% of his max mana. If Aethis has filled his mana pool, all his max rank abilities are transformed into alternative abilities. These alternate abilities remain even if levelling would cause his mana pool to no-longer be full.

Basic's of Mana (q): CD: 4/3.5/3/2.5/2s Mana: 25 Range: 500/550/600/650/700

Aetheis launches a ball of condensed arcane energy, using physical force in place of the finesse of more practised mages. After a short delay, Aetheis launches the shot in target direction, dealing 50/80/110/140/170 (+60% ap) magic damage to the first enemy hit. If Aetheis keeps his cursor over an enemy champion, the ball will attempt to home in on the enemy, veering slightly off course. This veering ball can still be blocked by other enemy units, or by other means used to block projectiles.

If this ability has 5 ranks in it when Aetheis fills his mana pool, it is transformed into Arcane Implosion

Arcane Implosion (q): CD: 2s Mana: 40 Range: 700 (AOE size: 300)

Aetheis launches a ball of chaotic arcane energy in target direction, which implodes on contact dragging all nearby enemies towards the centre, dealing 200 (+80% ap) magic damage and stunning them for 0.25 seconds.

Great Potential (w): CD: 12s Mana: 95 mana

Aetheis stops holding in his power, causing a whirlwind of magical energy to swirl around him for 6/6.5/7/7.5/8 seconds. During this time, whenever Aetheis attempts to cast Basic's of Mana or Arcane Implosion, the magical ball of energy is ripped from his hand and begins swirling around him. Upon casting this spell a second, all of the gathered balls of energy are unleashed in a cone in front of Aetheis, dealing damage as normal and knocking back enemy minions hit, no longer stopping at the first enemy hit. However, these spells will not home in on highlighted targets, or implode.

If this ability runs out of duration, or ends due to being interrupted by crowd control or similar abilities, then the gathered balls of energy will erupt around Aetheis, knocking him into the air for 1 second per gathered ball on energy.

If this ability has 5 ranks in it when Aetheis fills his mana pool, it is transformed into Arcane Whirlwind.

Arcane Whirlwind (w): CD: 12s Mana: 20 mana/second

Aetheis has mastered the Arcane whirlwind, allowing him to maintain it as long as he has mana. While maintaining the whirlwind, whenever Aetheis attempts to cast Basic's of Mana or Arcane Implosion, the magical ball of energy is ripped from his hand and begins swirling around him. Upon casting this spell a second, all of the gathered balls of energy are unleashed in a cone in front of Aetheis, dealing 20% more damage than normal and knocking back enemy minions hit, no longer stopping at the first enemy hit. However, these spells will not home in on highlighted targets, or implode.

This whirlwind of magic will last as long as Aetheis continues pumping mana into it. If this ability ends due to insufficient mana, or due to being interrupted by crowd control or similar abilities, then the gathered balls of energy will erupt around Aetheis, knocking him into the air for 1 second per gathered ball on energy.

Magical Backfire (e): CD: 24/23/22/21/20s Mana: 85 Range: 150 (Aoe Size: 250 radius, inner ring 100.)

Aetheis condenses as much magical energy as possible into a small bead, which appears at target location. After 1 second, the bead explodes, dealing 100/125/150/175/200 (+40% ap) magic damage to all nearby enemies. If Aetheis is within the outer-ring of the explosion, he is launched 400 units back from the centre. If Aetheis is in the inner circle of the explosion, he is launched 600 units away from the centre.

If Aetheis is launched through the air by this ability, he gains a shield equal to 25/30/35/40/45% of his current mana, which expires upon landing. While flying in this manner, Aetheis can cast basic abilities as normal.

If this ability has 5 ranks in it when Aetheis fills his mana pool, it is transformed into Arcane Journey.

Arcane Journey (e): CD: 20s Mana: 85 Range: 150 (Aoe Size: 250 radius)

Aetheis has mastered the technique of flying via explosions. Aetheis causes an explosion directly behind him, dealing 240 (+45% ap) magic damage to all nearby enemies, and launching himself forward 600 units, gaining a shield equal to 60% of his current mana, which expires upon landing. While flying forward in this manner, Aetheis can cast basic abilities as normal.

As long as Aetheis has his shield intact, he can cast this spell up to two more times, causing another explosion in the direction of the cursor and launching away from it. These secondary casts of the ability do not refresh Aetheis's shield.

Broken Portal (r): _CD: _ 160/140/120s Mana: 100 Range: 2000/2500/3000

Aetheis creates a portal of condensed space in front of him for 3/4/5 seconds, leading to target location (vector casting determines direction portal is facing). While active, whenever Aetheis would launch a projectile from Basic's of Mana or Arcane Implosion, it is instead launched from the portal. In addition, Aetheis can auto attack all enemies in front of the portal that are within his normal auto-attack range. The portal is invisible to enemies, being revealed for 1.5 seconds after any projectile is launched from it.

If Aetheis attempts to travel using Magical Backfire or Arcane Journey while this ability is active, he will launch through the portal, appearing on the other side and ending this effect early.

If this ability has 3 ranks in it when Aetheis fills his mana pool, it is transformed into Arcane Portal

Arcane Portal (r): CD: 120s Mana: 100 Range: Global

Aetheis rips a hole in space/time in front of him for 7 seconds, leading to target location (vector casting determines direction portal is facing). Aetheis must have vision of the area he is targeting. While active, whenever Aetheis would launch a projectile from Basic's of Mana or Arcane Implosion, it is instead launched from the portal, becoming 20% more powerful. In addition, Aetheis can auto attack all enemies in front of the portal that are within his normal auto-attack range, gaining 20% of his ap as additional magic damage. The portal is invisible to enemies, being revealed for 0.5 seconds after any projectile is launched from it.

If Aetheis attempts to travel using Magical Backfire or Arcane Journey while this ability is active, he will launch through the portal, appearing on the other side. Travelling through the portal this way with Arcane Journey causes it to collapse in an explosion of raw arcane power, knocking back all nearby enemies and dealing 300/400/500 (+100% ap) magic damage, and ending the effect early. If Aetheis travels through the portal with Magical Backfire, the effect ends early with no magical explosion.

All numbers presented here are place holders to give my idea of how powerful I believe these abilities should be. They can easily be replaced.

As for the kit itself, my only concern right now is how dangerous he could be with Archangel's staff :P
