Karla, The Reflection of the Void

**Introduction ** So I saw a few posts about a female Void champion and I figured I would pitch my concept here. It's not much of a concept and I do have concept art although it's terrible considering it was done using Word Paint and I'm by no means an artist.

Champion Lore

They called us the Validus, an ancient clan of crystal sorcerers. We were an honorable clan and the proudest sorcerers you could find. Our home is---was near Odyn Valley. We used to secretly study the Brackern, slowly learning the secrets to crystal magic from them. We were fine… until the whispers came. “Seek glory for your clan.” “Your magic will be forgotten and destroyed when the darkness comes.” After years of being poisoned by the voice, our clan leader sent me on a mission. “You must head east into Icatha; there you will find access to a dark place. Defeat the evil there and bring back proof so that we may put our fears to rest.” I tried to argue against it. I knew it was a bad place and a bad idea. But the decision was made and I had no other choice. As I neared Icatha, I too began hearing whispers. They told me of secret prophecies… dark prophecies. I tried to shut them out but they only got louder as I got closer to my destination. As I entered the forgotten city, I sensed something… a presence that sent shivers down my spine. It felt like it was looking right through my flesh and into my soul. Tearing me apart and dissecting me with its eyes. “Where is it coming from?” “Who are you? Come out now! I know you’re there!” No response. Hmm. Perhaps I’m imagining things? It was then that I heard a bone chilling cackle from behind me! Again! And Again! But each time that I turned around, I saw nothing there. “Stupid whispers…” “I knew I should have brought Eyrena with me” “This place gives me the chills” “What am I supposed to even find here anyway? I haven’t seen anything that even remotely resembles what Elder Loreas described.” “You know what you must seek. Turn this way and I will show you…” This particular whisper was different from the others. It seemed to feel… familiar. Safe. I felt like I could trust it with my life. ”Come this way… Do not hesitate. I will show you true glory” I followed it. The voice. It led me on for what seemed like hours before it stopped. My mind my own again, I realized that it was already dusk. “I should find a place to camp tonight away from these ruins. I don’t feel safe here” I thought to myself.

Despite my insecurities about Icatha, I found myself too deep into the ruins to be able to make it out before dark. “It seems I’ll have to camp here tonight” Before I knew it, I had fallen deep asleep. I dreamed of dark things… the dark prophecies that were whispered unto me were being realized within my dream. “LET ME IN!” I awoke with a startle and gasping for air. “That voice… it was the same one I had heard all day…that led me here. I had to have been dreaming.” “Ugh…It’s still dark out. I can barely even see.” It was then that I heard scuffling nearby. Being a seasoned witch, I knew I should not be afraid, but I couldn’t help feeling a chill as I heard more scuffling. There was no life in the ruins so it was quiet in the dark except for the scuffling I heard now. I was afraid of what I might see but I had no choice. I must light the area with magic. I said a few verses into a small hexagonal crystal and threw it down into the ground. It shattered while light poured from the inside and lit the room. Just before the room was lit, I saw a shadow dash around the corner. The spell wore off after a few minutes and the scuffling continued. It was enough to drive anyone mad… I decided to just stay up until dawn and leave for home. This was a waste of time. On my journey back, I kept hearing voices. More voices. In an attempt to remove them, I channeled my magic into a crystal commonly used for purification rituals. To my surprise, the crystal turned black. It seems that the purification failed. I searched frantically for other purification crystals and realized that every single one of my crystals had turned black. This was beyond me. I need the help of my clan. I should hurry. As I entered my hometown, I saw my sister, Eyrena, running towards me with a smile on her face. But as she neared me, her smile faded and turned into a scream. My attention was drawn to her chest. There was a dark crystal there. It had lodged into her chest killing her immediately and then exploded sending shards into the bystanders who also died immediately. One by one, I watched as I ended my clan with my own hands. Their screams... I can still hear them in the night. Loreas begged for mercy in the end before I crystallized him. My sister… What have I done..? “You brought glory to your clan. Isn’t that what you wanted?” “Now everyone will know and remember how you single handedly wiped out your own clan” “No! Get out of my HEAD!” Just like that, the voice disappeared. Until this day, I have yet to hear a whisper. I've since joined the League of Legends to find these "monsters" of the void that I've heard about. I will work towards putting an end to anything and anyone who has anything to do with the void. This will end… It must end.

Diary of Elder Loreas: *Karla has been acting strange again. She keeps giving me these strange looks like I was crazy. She screams in the night... Sometimes so loudly that the whole town can hear her. Yet when she wakes in the morning, it is as if nothing happened in the night before. The townsfolk hear her mumbling to herself quite often. They all think she's crazy and are fearful of her. Even her own family, her own sister, is fearful of her. This all began the day she encountered that crazed prophet Malzahar during one of her journeys outside. He had to have had done something to her... to her mind. Though I am the leader of our clan, I fear her power. Her magic is particularly potent for someone so young. I fear that I have waited far too long to talk her into a purification ritual. Any talks now could result in unnecessary violence... ...She was screaming again last night. This time it sounded different. Her voice seemed to... change. She spoke a strange tongue unfamiliar to anyone in our town. I had hoped that despite the worsening issue, it would get better with time...that the issue would resolve itself. But it would seem that it is now time to resort to the only solution I can think of. Over the course of Karla's.... descent.... I've discovered the source of her troubles. I've decided that the best way may be to just send her there under the pretense of seeking glory for our clan. Yes... this is the only way. She scares everyone... and when I look into her eyes... there is nothing but a darkness filled with a gluttonous desire to consume... Consume what? That I do not know and do not wish to know... ... It is time. She left this morning on her "mission". I can hardly believe my plan actually worked and she is leaving! Hopefully when she returns, she will have resolved her issue at its source and become the Karla we all admire and love once again. Her sister, Eyrena, wanted to go with her but the journey and the place was too dangerous. The only thing left to do now is to wait. I should prepare for her return... in case things don't turn out quite right. I must be prepared to do what we all dread to do. The protection of the clan and the town must come first. *

As I stated above, I'm no artist, in fact, I can barely even draw stick figures. What you see above is just a basic concept of how I envisioned her.

Attack Damage: 51.5 (3.5) Attack Speed: 0.655 (3%) Armor: 17 (3) Magic Resist: 30 (0) Move Speed: 330

**Abilities ** Passive: Corruption

On every 3rd basic attack or one ability hit, Karla plants a small seed of corruption up to 5 seeds that empower her. Passively, these seeds grant her vision of every afflicted target and a 1% movement speed bonus per seed that is actively afflicting ANY target. Upon activation, the target(s) are granted a small glimpse at the terrors the void has in store for the world fearing them for 0.1 seconds for each seed planted. The fear can only be applied once every 7 seconds to the same target.

In addition, at the end of the fear duration (or in the case that the fear is on CD, the damage will be applied immediately), the target takes 2% of their missing health as magic damage for each seed planted as their nightmarish void vision ends with a premonition of their own gruesome deaths. Minions and Monsters take 150% damage up to 150/250/350 maximum damage (Level 1/12/18). The seeds last for 7 seconds. This duration is refreshed for each new seed that is applied.

Q: Shattering Impale (CD: 8) (Cast Range: 800) (Explosion Radius: 150) (Cost: 75/80/85/90/95)

Karla launches a dark crystal in the direction of the cursor. It will impale the first target hit dealing 80/110/140/170/200 + (0.65 AP) and stick there for 2 seconds building up corruption before shattering throwing shards in every direction dealing damage 20/50/80/110/140 + (0.25 AP) and planting a seed of corruption to all nearby targets (150 radius) as well as the afflicted target.

This ability can be reactivated to deal the explosion sooner but it will deal 25% less damage for each second that it is reactivated early. If the target dies before the explosion, then the explosion will occur upon death dealing damage according to the number of seconds that has passed since affliction.

In addition, if the target moves more than 1000 units away from Karla, the crystal will automatically detonate dealing 75% less damage than it normally would regardless of the amount of time that has passed.

Both damaging effects of this ability will apply a seed each.

W: Reality Erosion (CD: 18) (Cast Range: 800) (Cost: 25 mana per afflicted target)

Karla exploits her seeds of corruption on all afflicted targets within a radius of 800 units distorting their realities and causing tremendous mental trauma dealing 10/15/20/25/30 (per seed) + (0.20 AP) magic damage. This damage is applied upon activation along with the effects from her passive. Activation will consume the seeds of corruption.

In addition, if the target is killed, she is empowered by the excess corruptive energy and gains double her passive bonus movement speed (capped at 50% bonus movement speed) based on how many seeds were afflicting each killed target for 3 seconds.

E: Void Step (CD: 26/23/20/17/14) (Cost: 70/75/80/85/90) (Cast Range: 550) (Area of Effect in both starting point and destination point: 150/175 at full channel)

Karla sucks in the energy around her and empowers herself with dark void crystal energy for 1.5 seconds or upon activation; she teleports to the target area where the excess energy crystallizes the ground around the destination point and briefly interrupts by slightly knocking back any enemies in the area dealing 30/60/90/120/150 + (0.40 AP) magic damage; if channeled for full duration it deals 50% more damage with increased area of effect.

In addition, any enemies that are within the area of effect in the starting point will be slowed by 30% for the duration of the channel or 1 second after the channel ends. Only enemies at the destination point will receive damage however enemies at the destination point and starting point will receive 1 seed of corruption. Therefore, it is possible for this ability to apply 2 seeds of corruption to all affected enemies in one cast.

**R: Overwhelming Corruption **(CD: 160/140/120) (Cast Range: 1000) (Cost: 100)

Karla turns her seeds of corruption in each afflicted target within 1000 units radius around her into conduits from which the power of corruption pours out from. This makes every target afflicted by corruption to instantly have 5 seeds of corruption and the seeds' duration are refreshed. In addition, Karla's W ability is reset allowing her to cast it again even if it was on cool down.

This is an old concept I came up with months ago; I did a complete revamp of her abilities to make them mesh better together and more unique and am curious what the community thinks of it now. The color of the crystals will be black or purple due to corruption from the Void. Please feel free to comment.

**Item Build ** This isn't the only build you can go with her, but I believe it is the best one.
