Kido - The Dancing Shadow (the true ninja)
With Kino, I was going for a kit that granted a really illusive feel. Other ninja champs just don't really have that ninja vibe I was hoping for, and seem more combat oriented than the kind of strike-from-the-shadows feel that I associate with ninjas. I have yet to work in ability costs, or base stats, but Kino would use Mana as a resource rather than energy.
His abilities would be thematically shown with lots of wavy, billowy purple/black smoke.
Kino: The Dancing Shadow The idea behind Kino was to add some ghostliness to the current Ninja-like selection of champions available in League. As shown in the ability descriptions, most of Kino’s abilities scale with AD, and he could play top, or mid efficiently, as either an assassin, or damage-heavy bruiser.
Lore:
The mark of a true ninja is very recognizable in Runeterra, yet ‘tis hard to define. For one to become a true ninja, one must become an unknowable legend. A faceless force of nature. The very thing that becomes unmistakable or legendary, is the shroud of mystery in the wake of deeds.
Kino has become just such a legend in Runeterra. His ghostly presence has become immediately recognizable by nearly everyone, yet when asked what they saw, people can seldom remember anything beyond his hooded visage, and the haze that seems to follow him as he moves.
We may never know the impact this ethereal figure has had on Runeterra, but one thing has become common knowledge (though it may be only a rumor): He plans to enter the League of Legends. His motivations remain as shrouded as his persona, but it is clear that upon his arrival - the League of Legends will never be the same.
**Passive: Fighting Shadows ** After taking damage from any source, Kino goes ethereal for 1.5 seconds. While ethereal, Kino takes 30% less damage (this damage reduction includes the damage that triggered the effect). Any ethereal effect on Kino causes his next auto attack to critically strike. ( Cooldown: 10 / 9 / 8 )
Q: The Dance Active: Kino lunges forward in the direction of your cursor. If he collides with an enemy champion, he thrusts his dagger into their back and holds onto them for 1 second dealing ( 75 / 115 / 155 / 195 / 235 (+ 100% Bonus AD). During that one second, Kino cannot be hit by the affected champion’s auto attacks (his hitbox also moves as the champion moves –to stay on their back). Reactivate: At any time during the 1 second duration, Kino may choose to vault off of the affected champion in the opposite direction they are facing ( Range 600 ). If he activates the vault, he becomes invisible and ethereal for one second. If he remains on their back and does not vault off at any time during the duration, enemies take an additional (1.7 / 3.3 / 5 / 6.7 / 8.3 (+ 20% bonus AD) per second bleed damage over 5 seconds. ( Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 )
W: Ethereal Presence
**Active: **For 2 seconds after activating this ability - if Kino is hit by an ability, the damage is ignored, he becomes invisible for (1 / 1.2 / 1.3 / 1.4 / 1.5) seconds, and a shroud is placed in a ( 350 ) radius where Kino was standing. Kino is ethereal while inside the shroud. The shroud lasts for 2 seconds. Enemies cannot see Kino if he is inside the shroud, unless they also enter the shroud. If they enter the shroud, they cannot see out.
( Cooldown: 20 / 18 / 17 / 16 / 15 )
E: Distraction **Active: **Small radius, targeted AOE ‘taunt’ – after a short delay, players within the radius take ( 70 / 120 / 170 / 220 / 270 (+ 60% AP) damage and are stunned for ( .5 / .6 / .7 / .9 / 1 ) second. During the stun, players are forced to face the center of the AOE. ( Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 )
**R: “Subtlety” ** Passive: Your move speed is doubled during any ethereal effect.
- Choose 3 enemy champions to mark (much like Kindred’s passive). **Active: ** When activated, for the next 10 seconds, vaulting off of a marked enemy with Q causes Kino to vault onto another marked enemy within a small/medium area (with the jump favoring the direction of your cursor). When vaulting onto another champion, the cooldown of Q is reset. During his ult duration, any champion Kino jumps onto - but does NOT vault off of - is dealt an additional (250 / 400 / 550 (+ 120% bonus AD), and this concludes the duration of his ult. If the ult duration is ended this way, Kino becomes ethereal for an additional 1.5 seconds. ( Cooldown: 120 / 100 / 80 )
