@Riot or @RiotZeronis in regards to Vi

So, I'm an artist and an aspiring games designer and it's a really bad habit of mine to try and make sense of the things that I draw and not just rely on the factor of "magic" to solve everything.

So we all know Vi's design but I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering how it is that she is able to hold her own/support her own weight whilst carrying her trademark gauntlets even then...how is it that she is able to pick them up in the first place? It's confirmed in the lore that they weigh several tonnes amirite?? Just wondering how you guys make sense of it because I'm having some issues with some of my own designs. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

Why did someone downvote this thread? So strange, people's opinions these days.

As for your question: Vi is very strong ... but the high heel platforms that she wears probably don't help her back very much. :P

I would say that if you dual wield anything, and she does dual wield her gauntlets, so to speak ... She's likely done martial and physical training to support the weight of her weapons (probably core strength and biceps and triceps, as well as the muscles in her back).

Admittedly, Vi almost certainly does have a magic something-or-other to make the gauntlets lighter than usual.

As a cosplayer, I can tell you that you'll use strong yet light-weight materials to make Vi's gloves. Like foam foam. Sealed in with about 20 coats of gesso, shellac, or maybe Worbla if you're rich. Similarly, the actual Vi has gauntlets that are very bare bones structurally, but coated with something durable and good for punching.

Zeronis doesn't really think TOO much about practicality, which is a shame. He does think about what looks beautiful though.

The Riot writing team has retroactively made Zaun and Piltover cities of industry, so Vi has the lightest, toughest, coolest, most advanced technological gloves possible :P

Good luck with your own game design/artwork.

If you're already thinking about the practicality of lore and character design, then congratulations :P You're on your way to building a better and more thought-out game than even League.
