ICC entry - Mercy's Calling

Well this is a long time coming. Anyways BowietheNifty here, and boy has it been too long sense I have posted on the boards. Unfortunately today I don't have a champion concept for you all today. While those concepts are back logged in many a documents, today I figured I would do something different. Seeing as we have a new contest on the boards this month, I wanted to pitch my entry into the ring. Its nice to see item creation being looked at as well on the this thread. No further stalling, lets get to this short entry.

Mercy's Calling +40 AD +40% Attack Speed +10% Cooldown Reduction

Unique Passive - Executioner: Dealing Physical damage inflicts Grievous Wounds on enemy champions for 3 seconds. Unique Passive: Grants an additional +40% attack speed when basic attacking a target who has ≤ 40% of their maximum health. This additional attack speed is lost within 2 seconds after switching to a target healthy target or after not attacking for 4 seconds.

A rather simple AD item that focuses more on finishing off weakened opponents quickly. Instead of adding additional damage, it increases the overall DPS of the wielder. The Grievous Wounds effect emphasizes this as it keeps opponents from constantly healing back up once within the low health threshold. As of now, the only AD item that applies Grievous Wounds is Mortal Reminder which isn't a bad choice against tanky opponents. Though this is aimed to go against more squishy targets who in turn you would want to out damage in some form. The Cooldown Reduction is a bit of a trade off instead of granting bonus armor penetration. Could potentially be viable on attack speed based Marksman, Physical Assassins, or even Fighters.

Build Path

item 3123 Executioner's Calling - 800 Gold + item 3101 Stinger - 1100 Gold + Combine Cost - 1000 Gold = 2900 Total Gold

A few Notes

This item was created mainly to open up rooms for certain upgrading items that only have one path. When certain items are seen within game such as Executioner's Calling, its easy to tell what they are building for. This not only keeps this item line within the same premise of being a counter part against healing, but it looks to have more of the feel of being an Executioner as you gain more benefit against low health opponents. It can be strong with On-hit builds as they gain that well needed attack speed, but at the same time the cool down reduction can give interest to every champion on who builds AD.

Something else I should mention is how this functions. The additional attack speed granted from the passive, is not an On-Hit effect. This is instead granted when executing the basic attack on the low health target. As well the attack speed is only granted if the main target of the basic attack is at the health threshold, so bolts from Runaan's Hurricane do not trigger the passive. Upon switching targets to one above the health threshold after gaining the additional attack speed does keep it around momentarily, so smart players can use it to their advantage.

Anyways this is going to be rather short for today. Hopefully my next post will be one of my champion concepts I have been working on. (Looks to the many files containing ideas and premises) Sigh If only I could get more time on my hands to write lore. Still I appreciate your time reading this item concept. Would love to hear your feedback, whether it be good or bad. So BowietheNifty is heading off now and wishing you a good rest of your day.

This seems like an execution item more than anything.

IMO could be abused on a lot of champs but still pretty good. Solid :)
