[Champion Concept] Ayananta, Woe-Touched of Coalescence

Young love! How sweet it is, right? So cutesy and innocent, full of glee and 100% worry-free! ... right up until a jealous witch curses you for stealing her man (oh, so cliche!)

Ayananta is a victim of promises and pledges. A rather stunning beauty in life, she's had men (and women!) make all kinds of ludicrous promises never meant to truly be fulfilled; ranging from dances and dinners to plucking celestial objects from the sky. Her own parents promise to protect and watch over her, and she, in turn, promises to support them in their darkest moments.

... But what if all the promises made to and by you in your lifetime were turned to contracts? What if dark magic tore your body apart, riddling you with the still-living minds and souls of those that dared to pitch you wool, or lend their ears as you made promises that you never intended to keep? What if some promises - some contracts - could never be truly fulfilled? What if you were stuck this way... forever?

This is the champion concept of Ayananta, Woe-Touched of Coalescence.

Burning... burning... it's... my hands... my eyes...! This is agony! Make it stop! Stop them, Trevor! Please, why won't you help me?! Why can't I hear you?

Nothing. There is nothing I can do to help her. Not now. Can't even speak... it hurts so much. What was I thinking, dragging her into this? Didn't even love her... but she was so pretty. Was so...

What is she doing to me?! My arms are tearing! You're still here with me aren't you!? I need to hear you! Please, why won't you say something?! I don't want to be alone with her! I don't! Wait--Travor! Is that... who is that? Who's there?!

The pain... it's unbearable. But... maybe... maybe I can make it a little bit easier on her. Maybe if I focus... maybe I can keep myself separate...

These voices...! All around me! Screaming! And still it hurts...! Why must I endure this? Someone.. please... let it end! Let it end!

Aya... what have I brought upon you? I'm so sorry. But this witch has not killed me yet. I'll block them away, Aya. I'll drive them out. You should be able to hear me now, Aya. Tell me that you can hear me!

Trevor? Trevor!! I can hear you... but it hurts so much! I don't.... I don't know if I can...

LISTEN to me, Aya. Focus on my voice! Do you remember the song you were singing when we met by the riverside?

...I... I do! I remember! ... But it hurts!

*Sing it, Aya! Focus on the song! Sing it the whole way through! *

O-Okay I'll... I'll try! Razored winds... that pave the stones... tend the graves... of man and bo-O-Oh Trevor... it hurts! ... Trevor... Trevor?! Where are you? They're so loud... there's so many...! Trevor... Why won't you answer me?!

...I'll keep your mind whole, Aya - I promise. You won't fall victim to her. I promise this to you, Aya.

#Playstyle

A strange anomaly on the Summoner's Rift, Ayananta boasts both a wide variety of powers and a staggering number of limitations. Unable to use her active abilities while outside the sphere of influence of allied champions - or the ravens that mark their graves - Ayananta must choose to either rely on her high base movement speed to remain in close proximity to her allies, or on the various passive effects layered throughout her kit to survive outside of their influence. Irrespective of the choices that she makes, Ayananta thrives near her allies - capable of healing, shielding and even increasing the movement speed of those within range while putting out a more-than-respectable amount of damage. But it's when everything goes horribly wrong that Ayananta really shines - drawing power from the raven-marked graves of her former comrades to exponentially increase the effects of her active abilities and utterly decimate the unprepared and far-too-confident enemies responsible.

They say there's nothing more dangerous than a pretty face. In this particular case... they may be right.

#Lore

"'Love is eternal!' 'My passion is a flame - and it burns only for you!' Pretty little sayings, aren't they? Such harmless wool pitted playfully between young lovers, completely oblivious to the true nature of the silly poems and pandem they recite. Love and passion; eternity and flame. To claim one is to claim the second, you ungrateful, disgusting, wretch. Did you think I would turn a blind eye to your actions?! You have PROMISED yourself to me. I should turn the both of you to cinders! ... But... I get ahead of myself. I am nothing if not a kind mistress, and so I will offer you the opportunity to redeem yourself, my love. Return to this misguided harlot. Lure her to me. I'll see to it that she never tempts you - nor anyone else - again. Then, Jared... perhaps I might find it within myself to forgive the both of you for what you have done."

I have to warn her. Tell her to leave. I find her at the lake opposite to her parents' homestead. She smiles and tells me that she got my message. She's already packed to leave. She expects us to elope, the gorgeous idiot. ...But would it be so bad? Sure, we'd have to live a life on the run - but that witch doesn't care about me - not really. Not like she taught me all that much, anyway. She'd give up eventually. And this girl... Aya... her smile... the way that dress sits on her hips...

...I kiss her.

"Let's leave. Right now! Let's go North as far as we can!"

My eyes... still burning. But I can see. How much I can see. The voices... still screaming... but I hear. I hear each strand of hair growing on the neck of the scorned woman laughing over my once mangled frame. Mangled. Now restored. She has stopped laughing. They cry in shock. Know not what I am. Plead me to ask. I ask. She tells me I am as I have pledged. The promises I have made and the promises made to me. All has coalesced; and soon she shall do the same. We are to serve her. Through this pain, she desires my body and our obedience. They are glad to be called upon. Now understand their purpose. Beg of me to accept her terms. To say yes.

They are confused and bewildered as I strike down the object of their devotion. Without purpose, they babble. Struggle. As I stare into the dying eyes of the witch, I know not how to alleviate them. Suddenly, she speaks.

"How...? It... it was him... wasn't it...? He did this... Well... may you both rest easy in your new home... you will never be free of it for as long as we both draw breath! Look at me, girl! I will have your body... I will have your mind. This, Aya...

I PROMISE."

#Champion Kit

Primary Role Support Secondary Roles Jungler Tertiary Roles Mage (Might be a chore - but it's... doable if you get lots and lots of ganks)

|Base Stats-------------------------|Growth per/level|-----------------------|Stats @ 18| |- |Health: 570| (+77 | | 1879 | |Mana: 360| (+62 | | 1414 | |AD: 53| (+3 | | 104 | |HP/5: 5.42| (+0.55 | | 14.77 | |MP/5: 9| (+0.4 | | 15.8 | |Range: 175 (Melee)| (+0 | | 175 | |AS: 0.675| (+2.5% | | 0.941 | |Armor: 23.5| (+3.7 | | 86.4 | |Magic Resist: 30| (+0 | |30 | |Movement Speed: 355| (+0 | | 355 |

.

#Passive - Empty Promises

Ayananta may only use the active effects of her non-ultimate abilities while within 725 units of an allied champion or Raven Gravemarker.

  • Should an ally be defeated while Ayananta is on their team, their grave will remain marked by a flock of ravens for 10/15/20 seconds. These Raven Gravemarkers carry the wishes and regrets of the fallen and may be harnessed by Ayananta in various ways.

#Q: Alleviation / Dread Moon

Passive - Alleviation Basic attacks and abilities landed by Ayananta heal up to 3/4/5/6/7% (+ 0.01 AP)% of her missing HP over 7 seconds. Nearby allies receive 1/5 of total damage recovered by Ayananta, so long as they remain in range of her. Up to 3 instances of Alleviation may stack at one time. These stacks may be replaced by stronger stacks as Ayananta's HP drops, though they can not refresh.

  • While within range of a Raven Gravemarker, the effects of Alleviation are doubled. This effect is multiplied equal to the amount of nearby Gravemarkers (clustered teamwipe? No problem - The support will clean up!)

Active - Dread Moon Mana Cost: 50/60/70/80/90 Cooldown: 7/6/5/4/3 Range: 625 Initial Radius: 100 Radius Growth: 60 per second Ayananta plucks a metaphysical fragment of the moon from the sky, directing it towards a target location. There, a celestial pillar of light will begin to slowly expand over the next 5 seconds, dealing 10/25/40/55/70 (+ 0.12 AP) magic damage every 0.5 seconds to any enemy champions caught in its radius. Does not affect minions.

  • While within range of a Raven Gravemarker, the mana cost of Dread Moon is cut by 10%. In addition, each nearby Gravemarker will cause Dread Moon to apply an 8% slow for 0.5 seconds whenever successfully damaging an enemy.

#W: Innervision / Trace and Embrace

Passive - Innervision While moving towards a Raven Gravemarker, Ayananta gains 5/7/9/11/13 bonus movement speed. This effect can stack from multiple Gravemarkers, and the effect is global. Alternatively, being in range of a Gravemarker also applies a stack of Innervision, regardless of the direction in which Ayananta is moving.

Active - Trace and Embrace Mana Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 Range: 1000 Radius: 275 Shield Strength: 4/8/12/16/20 (+ 0.15 AP) - 40/80/120/160/200 (+ 0.65 AP) Stun Duration: 0.1 - 2.0 Seconds Ayananta marks a target ally or enemy champion, unfurling a burning trail between her current position and the their own for 6 seconds. This trail remains immobile (even if the target moves) and may be consumed - piece by piece - as Ayananta follows it. Upon reaching the marked target, Ayananta will either:

  • If the target is an Ally: shield her target, herself and all nearby allied champions in a small radius.
  • If the target is a Hostile: stun her target and all nearby hostile champions in a small radius.

Ayananta needs not consume the path to embrace her target, however each tile consumed will increase the effects of Trace and Embrace.

  • if within range of a Raven Gravemarker when Ayananta reaches her target, Trace and Embrace will gain the ability to additionally stun hostiles after embracing an ally; or shield allies after embracing a hostile. This effect is equal to 25% of its standard value, but may stack up to a potential 100% based on the number of nearby Gravemarkers.

#E: Requite / Alacrity

Passive - Requite When Ayananta is damaged by a hostile, that hostile will be Marked for Requital for 2 seconds. Standard attacks by Ayananta will consume this mark, dealing 35/70/105/140/175 (+ 0.65 AP) magic damage. Targets who have their marks consumed may not be marked again for 5 seconds.

  • While within range of a Raven Gravemarker, Marks of Requital may be triggered through use of Ayananta's abilities. Additionally, triggering these marks while either Ayananta or her target are within range of a Raven Gravemarker will reduce the cooldown period between marks by 0.5 seconds.

Active - Alacrity Mana Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 Cooldown: 12/11/10/9/8 Range: 675 Ayananta urges her allies onward, granting herself 10% MS, 10/15/20/25/30% AS and affected allies 20/35/40/45/50% movement speed while moving towards her for 3 seconds. Should Ayananta or affected allies successfully strike a hostile champion with a standard attack whilst Alacrity is active, its duration will be increased by 0.2 seconds, up to a max of 6 seconds.

  • While within range of a Raven Gravemarker, Ayananta's standard attacks will deal an additional 10/20/30/40/50 (+ 0.1 AP) magic damage while Alacrity is active. This damage is multiplied for every active Raven Gravemarker in range.

#R: Lament of the Ravens

Active Mana Cost: 100 Cooldown: 120/100/80 Range: Self / Global Pulse Radius: 575

If self-cast Ayananta gives physical form to the unrequited pledges and promises of the souls that inhabit her, placing a Raven Gravemarker at her current location for 10/15/20 seconds.

If cast on an existing Raven Gravemarker (Global) Ayananta roots herself and channels for 3 seconds, causing the target Gravemarker to begin to pulse violently. At the end of the channel period, Ayananta will manifest at the target Gravemarker; dealing 190/280/370 (+ 0.75 AP) magic damage to all hostiles caught in the final pulse and adding an additional 10-second lifespan to the affected Gravemarker.

Time to clean up!

Dark, gritty and just a little bit cryptic...

...Maybe a lot cryptic.

Did you like the concept? Did you hate it? Do you think it needs to be toned down? Buffed (you're insane!)?! Better yet - do you want to read yet ANOTHER story-driven and highly inventive concept? If so, why not check out Proteus, The Cyber Acolyte?!

My sincerest thanks go out to anybody and everybody who got this far. Don't be afraid to leave your thoughts on the concept - no matter how utterly harsh and self-esteem-destroying they might be.

Another featured champion for my list. Bravo once more, sir!

I've got a new champion in need of views too, mind doing a trade?

Onto your champion, it looks as amazing as always. You've got a great format for champion concepts, you've got great art and lore, and you can even scale all your stuff very well.

Once more, 10/10 sir.

i really like the concept of your champion, however, surely the role of a support is to keep everyone alive, and yet you are punishing her for keeping her allies alive. i would recommend that being near these grave markers doesn't give bonus effects, just allows her to use her actives. in addition though, i can't really fault anything else here.

i send this link to all champion designers regardless on how good they are, but here it is http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=293417

Ayananta, Hoe-Touched of Coalescence

I don't think riot would go that far with that kind of clothing, but everything else is fantastic, good job!

One last bump for feedback before I leave Ayananta to perish at the bottom of the board.

I really really like the lore and the abilities are very interesting!! :D the art is beautiful too!!!...i fear however...that its too...serious....and dark...it does not fit in the league lore....and its nothing like other champions....the kit is perfect but the idea behind it is sooo completely NOT riot that she will most likely never see the field of justice if she stays the way she is now :/ I'd suggest keeping the kit (cus its...amazing...truly) and going a little less....poetic and deep with the lore...but thats just a suggestion ^^'
