I think our champions need more variety. There are more undead champions than there are colored champs. Here's a champion concept I made- it will add some much needed variety to our Champions, and I think he will be fun to play. Check him out if you're interested. Either way- we need variety.

I totally get your mentality, but racial diversity never really seemed to bother me. If there was a game only of Japanese people I still wouldn't care, I'm odd like that I suppose

I've never seen a single line about race in League's lore. Everyone in League is connected to Runeterra, a make believe world that is in no way connected to planet Earth, or the real world. So stop trying to put real life scenarios into a make believe world. League doesn't need our human nonsense.
I agree we do need more variety. But don't forget, some of the strongest champs in the game are "colored" and or female. But Riot's working on it, so chill.

MLK was a real life human being who was born on planet Earth. He is in no way connected to Karma or Lucian so I don't understand why you're picking at the air here.
If you had based your argument on "we need more people of color" instead of "these champs are this color because I have eyes but lack common sense" then I would have supported you 100%. You claim to know these champs and everything they do yet forget that what you're asking for is something people are annoyed of hearing because isn't the right way to go about it. We have people of color, we have people of different genders, hell even different species in this game yet you're the lone sheep whose calling for more "black people". Variety is a great thing but you're making some very rash assumptions. My skin tone is that of Karma's yet I'm not black. But with your reply above you'd probably say that I'm ignorant for that. It also doesn't help that you're trying to lead people into your concept art. I would have had a different reaction if that wasn't there cause now it just reads as "I'm right and everyone else is wrong because of this reason."

As far as we can tell, there is no where, outside of the desert, who's inhabitants have all been either morphed into animals, moved or died, where there is enough heat and direct sunlight to warrant a dark completion. Sure, there will always be people with varying complexions from different areas, but Runeterra is not Earth, it doesn't share the same environmental extremes as our planet. There simply may no longer be any dark skinned people left on the planet.

Atusette2 votesI believe with he's trying to say by "black" is referring to being of African descent not black as in of dark skin color. You can be "white" but there are millions of different sub categories but most white people identify as white without worried about the details. Where as you can be black but being of Saharan African descent is very characteristically different than say Aborigine, Aztec (which I believe Karma was based off) or Cuban. Nidalee seems to be very Brazilian or South American. Lucian I would say is of African descent maybe Ekko. Illoai seems to have some mixed culture but seems to be more Samoan or islander. Malzahar I would say is Middle Eastern in design ( think Prince of Persia.)

Also ekko has been added and he is most definitely a black champion, riot has pretty much proven that they are not totally against black champions what COULD have been avoided were some black stereotypes shown in their black champion releases, stereotypes like:

he most definitely is black, he merely has some face paint plastered all over his face and has white hair, his complexion is really dark and his facial characteristics accord to those of african american people (probs) also, ekko looks pretty black in the cinematic. Even if his facial characteristics accord to those of european people i am pretty sure ekko was intended to be black, it is just that riot did not spend time researching the proper facial characteristics to design thinking it would not make much of a difference (which it did not). Even if every single one of his facial characteristics do not match those of black people he most definitely was intended to be black by riot which is the only thing that matters since this threat is about RIOT'S lack of black, it's the thought that matters!
P.S. -> read the comic sequence too, he seems black there.

nowhere did i say ekko has a black persona. i specifically said that ekko;s complexion is black. I just said that having a little different facial characteristics then irl black people does not mean that he was not intended to be black by riot. i clearly said ekko looks black and was intended to look black despite having slightly different facial characteristics. Mister Modesty1 votesSo I looked up more pictures of Ekko. He does seem intended to be a black champion- but I still maintain he looks very white to me the way Riot designed him. So, I concede, Ekko is black. But only because of "illegitimate" artwork surrounding him. Riot made his complexion too light, and his features European. Here's a side-by-side so I'm not looking like a madman.
