[CCC] Judge Requirements and Expectations
######Just putting this here for future and current reference, these are the EXACT words I use for any new judge from here on out. Will be updated periodically when necessary. Below are a few conditions for being a judge that I, Zack Newton (Sir ArmaMalum), want to make sure you're aware of. I'm not a lawyer, nothing here is legally binding. However these are conditions that I am imposing as the organizer of the event and if any of these are breached I may be obligated to drop your scorings. I hope you find most of these conditions as common sense, and the rest as easy to work with. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me at [email protected].
- Judges are expected to be respectable and well-mannered to entrants and to each other. This does not mean to make your reviews sugar-coated and nice, but judges are expected to know the difference between constructive criticism (good) and ridicule (bad).
- Judges are not allowed to enter in the same contest they are judging in. Look up the definition of ‘conflict of interest’ and I think you’ll understand why.
- Judges are expected to remain anonymous during the contest. This is to prevent judge personalization and give judges the freedom to suggest and work with entrants without bias. In other words, you can move around with your peers as a peer and not a judge. Judges are also expected to use this privilege responsibly.
- Judges are expected to have a score for every entrant by the established deadline. There is no gray area here, it’s all or nothing.
- Judges are encouraged to provide feedback under the guise of just another player to as many concepts as possible. While providing detailed feedback and critiques to every concept is the pinnacle, it is not realistic to expect. Judges can also give feedback on the scoresheet to reveal the feedback all at once at the results announcement.

It's an oldie but goodie when it comes to giving appropriate and helpful feedback to champion concepts.
Judges will be handed an individual scoresheet to fill out and return to the Host within the judging period (2 weeks after entry week). The Host will then compile the scores together to show to all the entrants. Judges are highly encouraged to take times out of their day during the results announcement to share why they scored as they did if asked.
