@Riot, are you looking at champion concepts?

Don't know about other guys, but i spend a lot of time (2 - 10 hours per concept), so i wonder if that have a purpose. Do you guys look on our work or are we working for nothing?

It's mostly for you. It would be a lot of legal hassle to get a champion concept in, and even commenting on one is going to cause an uproar. They may browse through them, but they'll never leave an indication.

They have actually commented on a lot of them in the past, its just not something they do frequently and they won't take it seriously. Even if they like your concept, they wouldn't use it, of if they did, they would tweak it beyond recognition to avoid legal stuff.

That being said, have fun, who knows, maybe some rioters draw inspiration from these, if not, its still fun to dream this stuff up. :")

The only ones I recall that got Riot's attention were Barn and Helmet Bros, and those were outstanding.

I remember Quinn the Piltover boxer got some attention. Quite a bit, actually. It was funny. I believe it was Meddler or Morello who came out specifically to give a disclaimer that the the champion development team didn't look at that part of the forums.

Vi was released a month or 2 later.

Pretty sure it takes more than just two months to make a champ, but that was back in earlier League times that I was not apart of.

It does and it did. That's why it drew so much attention from Riot so quickly. It wasn't possible for either of them to have stolen from each other in that time frame. But the fan concept (Including art!) was basically Vi with a different name. Just one of those one-in-a-million moments.

I think Rioters look at the champion concept section for a bit of inspiration once in a while. I think It's mainly just for people to post their own interesting concepts which are fun? I wouldn't know, it seems fun.

I'm pretty sure they only use them for inspiration, but I do know they watch them because some of the Rioters comment on them.

Yes they do, my concept was made into braum (alland shield of demacia, description is scarily similar)

Actually both Ekko and the umpcoming Yin-Yang champion (if it trully is them) come from champion concepts. The latter was even commented on by a Rioter; it didn't contain any kit, just a lot of nicely done artwork.

When it comes to Ekko, he was originally concepted as a AA-based champion with abilities that scaled with attack speed. His E was changed around a bit since the original concept, but the rest of his kit was rearranged by Riot. Oh, and originally he was meant to be Ezreal's jealous little bro. :P

Volibear came from the boards, if what everyone says is true. I think they'll take very basic concepts (Such as polar bear champion) and run with it. They can't take entire kits though, because that might cause them legal problems if someone went and sued them over it.

That's a shame, really. People have created a few champion concepts, and they really just want riot to take them! Or rework them! If I see a champion that was based on MY ideas, I'd go nuts! (A good kind of nuts!) I wouldn't ask for a cut of the profit or anything, A bit of credit along the lines of "The idea of this champion was given to us by [Insert Name Here]! Check out his/her champion concept at boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/ ----" and just being able to play your creation is enough to me.

in any case, it would be interesting to have an editor mode (like War3 and Sc2) that allows you to create custom games with custom champs.
