[Champion Concept] Niel, the Iceborn

So, I found out about something called the Leidenfrost effect a long while back, making it so that you can quickly dip your hand in liquid nitrogen without it getting frozen. I thought this was cool, and, since ice and cold is typically associated with crowd control, it made a bit of sense to make their passive what it is. From there, I started to produce the rest of the kit. Brittle material from the cold inspiring their W. I started realizing I couldn't make it an assassin early on, since crowd control was the main way to shut an assassin down, such as Zed. So, I started to go towards the tanky aspect of things, and created an engage-heavy tank that will plow through your team in a teamfight. Their ultimate is rather flexible, usable either as a defensive tool to heal what you need to before coming back into the fight to tank more damage, or as a disruption tool. And yes, their E is VERY MUCH STRONG. However, this is countered by the long cooldown of it, as well as the gaps in it, and the long delay, and the fact that they may be shattered. It's great for locking down low mobility targets.

Niel The Iceborn Tank/Support

[P] Leidenfrost: Passively, casting an ability grants you crowd control immunity for 0.75 seconds.

[Q] Frost Bringer: Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds Mana cost: 60 mana Niel dashes forwards, dealing 60/70/80/90/100(+100% base AD)(+40% AP) physical damage to enemies they dash through. Upon colliding with an enemy champion, the dash is cut off early, stunning the enemy champion for 0.75/0.9/1.05/1.2/1.35 seconds.

[W] Gelid Armor: Cooldown: 18/17.5/17/16.5/16 seconds Mana cost: 75 mana Passively, enemies attacking you have their attack speed reduced by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20%, as long as you are their attack target. Actively, you afflict all nearby enemies with Brittle Armor, reducing their movement speed by 15% for 3 seconds. After striking a unit affected by Brittle Armor 5 times, their armor shatters, reducing it by 15% and dealing 60/80/100/120/140(+45% AP) magic damage, increasing the duration of Brittle Armor by 2 seconds. Edit: Slow tuned; 15% from 20%, 3 seconds from 4. It still requires giving people time to apply the secondary effect.

[E] Icicle Crash: Cooldown: 20 seconds Mana cost: 90/100/110/120/130 mana Upon activation, you cause 8 icicles to drop out of the sky in a circle around you after 2.5 seconds, dealing 100/120/140/160/180(+100% AP) magic damage and blocking enemy movement. The icicles slow enemies in a short radius around them by 25/32.5/40/47.5/55% and remain there for 3 seconds or until reactivation. There are gaps between the icicles. Passing through an icicle with a movement spell shatters it.

[R] Iceborn: Cooldown: 120 seconds Mana cost: 150 mana Niel encases themselves in ice, causing them to become untargetable for 5 seconds and regenerate 30/35/40% of their missing health over the duration. Upon reactivation, this ends early, knocking back all nearby enemies. Leidenfrost activates upon breaking out, instead of upon cast.

Important question, who or what is the wraith of frost? A (controllable?) minion you have from level 1? You didn't explain it. Or is it an alternative name for Niel, the iceborn?

Looks like a nice concept. I like it. Reminds me a bit of the ice boss from Twilight Princess. This kit has some cool synergies.

From your little intro I expected some kind of ability that stuns an enemy if they stand still.

Hey Lua, I like the design. I do suggest tweaking the ult so it isn't quite so similar to Lissandra's. The W is definitely interesting, though a 20% slow for 4 seconds is a little op, especially in a teamfight. Niel's E is a very interesting ability, it seems very unique and has good counterplay. Are the gaps between the icicles big enough for a champion to walk through? Do the icicles block skillshots? The passive is very cool, but a little overpowered. His W is basically just a spell shield with that passive, regardless of if enemies are in range or not. Interesting design though, I look forward to seeing a final product.
