Nunu Champion Update Kit Ideas
As it stands right now Nunu, feels a bit clunky and it seems like there is room for improvement for him to do his jobs better. His kit seems kind of linear as in he presses a button and gains effects and it doesn't seem like he has enough agency or options to use to improve his success. This kit update provides a new kit with minimal changes maintaining the image of old Nunu, while adding in some freshness.

Passive: Blood Boil - CD: 17 Range:600
Willump gains a stack of Blood Boil every time he takes dmg equal to 10% of his current HP, every time he gains a minion or monster takedown, and 3 stacks when he and Nunu are attacked from behind. At 7 Blood Boil stacks upon attacking or within the next 3 sec the heat of Willump’s and allied units blood rises, giving bonus attack speed and bonus movement speed for 10 seconds. Willump and allied units are granted the buff instantly if a nearby enemy champion or epic monster dies. The CD is reduced by 0.25 sec each time Nunu is attacked from behind. BONUS ATTACK SPEED: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50% BONUS MOVEMENT SPEED: 8 / 9 / 10 / 11 / 12 / 13%
Reasons: Nunu is categorized as a Warden, and as such it makes more sense for his passive to be more supportive in nature. This passive will also allow the duo to be more effective in the jungle as they have to tank damage in order to clear. Nunu’s old passive does not give the same lvl of support nature nor does it assist in clearing camps as much so it doesn’t have very much gameplay impact. Thus it is better to move it to an ability passive instead of having take up the main passive slot. The CD and duration have been nerfed in compensation that the passive no longer uses mana. Additionally using neither Visionary nor Blood Boil as an active provided any quality high moments, but Blood Boil’s uses as a passive that requires a set up, will build to to a better high moment. Also Willump protects Nunu, so if attacked from behind where Nunu can be hit its understandable that Willumps gets more upset.
Q - Consume:
Active: Nunu commands Willump Willump to take a bite out of the target enemy minion or monster, dealing true damage after a 0.4 second delay and healing himself. Willump permanently gains 2 bonus health whenever he kills a unit with Consume. While Blood Boil is active Consume can target enemy champions dealing 20% true dmg. Consuming a large or epic monster grants Nunu a stack of Well Fed for a duration, which cannot happen again from the same type of monster for 60 seconds. STACK DURATION: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 WELL FED: Nunu gains 2% maximum health and increased size, as well as 10 bonus movement speed while out-of-combat, stacking up to [5 times].
Reasons: Not being able to use one ability at all in teamfights kinda sucks, but its still a great jungling ability. So when the requirements are met a weaker version can be used against champions. Lore-wise Willump’s mental restricts against attacking people are lifted when he’s angry, and you won’t like him when he’s angry.
NEW W - Snow Yeti Range:700/275/75
Active: Nunu channels over 1.25 sec maintaining MS creating a snow copy of themselves at a target location. The copy is a wall and barrier that intercepts and reduces non-turret enemy projectile damage that passes through it. Nunu can recast within 275 units to have Willump throw the Snow Yeti applying a Slow and dealing AoE dmg in a target area. If self-cast Nunu shields himself for 12% of max HP and gains true Stealth. Moving after self-casting, causes it to shatter applying slow and dealing AoE damage. Enemies can walk through it to shatter it only creating a slow AoE. Duration: 12 sec Damage Reduction 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45% - 50%[Visionary] MAGIC DAMAGE: 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 - 260[Visonary] (+ 40% AP)
Reasons: Nunu needed a new W ability since Blood Boil was made the main passive. Snow Yeti was created to pair nicely with Nunu’s ultimate as you move into position; as well as show off more of Nunu’s playfulness, Willump’s strength and how they can work together. Additionally this ability can also be used supportively to stop skillshots and save an ally, as well as inhibit enemy movement. This ability opens up new avenues for mind-tricks, outplays and gives Nunu players more agency over exciting options rather than just pressing buttons and gaining effects.
Q - Unchanged
(Moved) Passive - Visionary Nunu's basic attack and Ice Blasts grant 1 stack of Visionary. At 5 Visionary stacks, Nunu's next ability has no mana cost and is improved by 1 rank. Nunu starts the game with 5 Visionary stacks, also granted upon recalling or upon respawning.
