Item Ideas (Mainly Support)

A revision of a previous idea. These items were created to make a champion concept more viable as a support, because the existing support items didn't have much synergy with him. If you think any of these items need adjustment, let me know. :)

ok I like your ideas but there are some problems.

lets start at the top and work our way down.

Royal Bracers: basically its spell thief, but instead of on hit magic damage you loose 1 gold per hit and gain 1s off active item cd, I'd consider it worth it if it also effects wards but at the moment I'd rather just have domination second and go zombie ward+Ingenious hunter while still getting spell thief. Also this item incourages poking but trades out its mana regen for 5 mr. and where 5 mr is impactful (since most sups do magic damage) I just don't feel its as an item is worth not having spellthief. Also riot removed bandit from the other sup items so its probably best not to try and reintroduce it.

Treasured Sleaves: Same as Royal Bracers

Remnent of the noble: this one I actually like because at this point the mr is actually a number that is valuable. The item line as a whole though just won't make enough gold or be as impactful in lane for its special effect of active item cd to be good. this item at max rank still won't make as much gold as spellthief not to mention frostfang that more than doubles its gold income for doing the same thing. I can understand that getting the gold income right on this can be hard but you have to think about how much gold each of the other items are giving.

Ribbon Badge: Nice. its a simple item that works on a nice hand full of champs and is honestly a kind of item a lot of people are looking for so there is an alternative to rageblade or nashors.

Ceramonial Linkblade: AP triforce but it works

Hextech Odion-X20: Big problem #1 you removed damage from the revolver, I know the point was to have the revolver active become the shield but you can't take an offensive passive and turn it into a defensive active. #2 If you make the active share a cd with locket just because it has a shield on it you run into the problem that a lot of people have with things like tri-force and hextech-glp. where there are so many unique conditions on it where its a good choice in neish conditions but its usually better to have the two other parts. tri-force doesn't have this problem because it gives so much and most people who build tri-force arn't dying for a black clever as well and even if they do its fine. hextech GLP on the other hand locks you out of the effectiveness of not only gunblade and protobelt but also locks you out of roa and abysal mask, until its change. that is why it got changed probably. now it is locked out of ludens and seraphs but your only looseing a BONUS 10% cdr so its still fine if you buy another one with it because the cdr is only half effective unlike before where you would be forced to pay for a strong regen passive you couldn't use or an entire active.

all in all I like the idea its just that I don't feel that your first item is worth building, it gives ap so you would think enchanters but the active item cd is better for tanks (enchanters usually only go for item 3107 or item 3190 while tanks can get both along with a bunch of others without sacrificeing effectiveness) and the only way I can see it on a support is if there intention isn't to sup but be a mage carry bot lane like zyra or velkoz who might want to opt in a hextech item or spell binder. your second item line is nice and fits a good spot as an ap triforce. the third item has some problems with either its active or its build path and has lock out issues.

The only reason why I didn't put the item cdr on the trinkets was because I didn't want a support item having a vision advantage over the others. Is that fair?

I calculated the gold based on how much gold you can earn every 30 seconds. Spellthief gives up to 30 gold per 30 seconds, so it stood to reason that I made it 6 gold per 6 seconds, which is equal. I could make it a 3 uses per 30 seconds though, like Royal Bracer could do 10 gold and 0.4 seconds per hit, up to 3 times, going up to 15 gold and 0.7 seconds per hit on Treasured Sleeve.

Didn't realize that bandit was gone. Thanks.

It's good to know that someone thinks that Ceremonial Linkblade works. Do you think that it should be 3600 gold, +80 AP and +25% attack speed, maybe at the expense of +5% movement speed instead of 7%? Both Nashors and Lichs Bane have 80 AP, so it just makes sense to me to have this one be 80.

The champion I'm making (reworking) right now has cc, but he's dps-focused, and his only heal/shield is a passive heal that works off of dps, which is an abysmal heal that is meant to just proc ardent censer for shared dps with his teammates. So I had to design something for him that gives him on-demand shielding. The point was to make a shield item with a shorter cooldown than solari, with lesser effectiveness of course. Because 40 seconds was the target, it made sense to make it a hextech item. But, then I was left with a choice to share its cdr with solari or hextech items, and made it both. I wouldn't want players stacking the shields, so it should share the use with solari over the hextech items.

How about this:

Odion Shield

item 3105 (1100) + item 1026 (850) + 250 Gold Total 2200 Gold

+40 Ability Power +30 Magic Resist +30 Armor

UNIQUE Active - Bestow: Grants a decaying shield to nearby allied champions and yourself for up to 2.5 seconds, absorbing up to 20 (+ 10 per level) (+ 10% of caster's AP) damage (40 second cooldown) (600 range).

Shield per level uses the higher of your level or the target's level. Shield ratio scales with your level. Shield amount is reduced to 50% if the target has been affected by another Bestow in the last 8 seconds.

######Note: Locket of the Iron Solari's unique active becomes Bestow, so the shields won't stack. Using Odion Shield puts a 40 second cooldown on Locket of the Iron Solari, and Locket of the Iron Solari puts a 90 second cooldown on Odion Shield.

Just hoping it doesn't become a must-have for all AP supports.

I can understand the vision but you have to think about what your giving up in order to have that active item cdr. In comparison to spellthief you can only proc it once every 6s instead of 3 every 30s which means that without constant presure your not reaching max gold income where someone with spellthief can wait for the right time or until they reach 3 stacks and go for a poke trade to get there gold. Also tanks couldn't really bring it either because tanks need the sustain from targons in order to not just get herassed out of lane while still being effective. The only sup I can see it on other than mage carry sups are sups like rakan (I like to build item 2065 +item 3800 +item 3107 since i tend to run ingenious on him) who are enchanters who also frontline a little maybe bard or anivia might take it.

As for the cerimonial link blade if you wanted to increase the price I'd sugest adding more mana or attack speed but not ap. The key point of trinity force is that its a little bit of everything but not to much (except attack speed) but the thing is is that your item is in a good spot it doesn't give too much and it has its pros and cons versus buying lich bane or nashors. If you want more constant dps you would go nashors while if you wanted rotational burst you would want lich bane. But this item fits a good AP AS bruiser/ split push kind of item. In team fights your dps would be lower but you would have a small burst at random points from the lich bane proc.

Odion Shield I like your changes to build and how it interacts with other items and I can see it as being an enchanters alternative to locket but I'd have to see how it interacted with a typical enchanter build to see if it is too strong or too weak since most enchanters have lower ap than a mage they also get heal & shield increasers so I'd have to see how much on average it did to see if its just locket with ap instead of 30 mr or an actual item that suits enchanters in the same way tanks benifit from locket. One thing to worry about tho is what if another role that isn't sup takes the item. It would suck for it to recieve nerfs just because it became a staple late game mage item because of its ap scaling shield that would allow combat mages like Ryze orLissandra taking it since it gives a nice combination of def and agro stats while supplying there team with a 250-350 shield late game to there team if there support didn't buy it or locket.

Aha! One stat that's almost exclusive to support items is % base mana regen, so the shield can scale by 5 per 25%.

A) item 3092 item 3107 item 3174 item 3504 item 1001 + Odion Shield = 350% Base Mana Regen = 324 total shield strength at 18. This is a standard support build. If you have athene's grail, there's no need for mikael's crucible, and includes a pair of boots.

B) item 3092 item 3107 item 3174 item 3504 item 3222 + Odion Shield = 450% Base Mana Regen = 406 total shield stength at 18. This build for someone banking on all the base mana regen possible.

C) With Ornn on your team, the absolute maximum you can get from Odion Shield at level 18 is 420

Also, for Ceromonial Linkblade I can put the attack speed up to 25% without raising the cost. Its gold efficiency would be approximately 96.2%, just short of Trinity Force at 97.04%, and the average between Nashor's Tooth (117.44%) and Lich's Bane (82.29%) at 99.865%. According to the wiki.
