Champion: Qatik, The Plaguebearer Name pronunciation: Kat-ick

During Shurima's prosperous era, Qatik served in the royal army before eventually settling down as head apothecary to the empire. Growing up, he'd been close friends with Azir and Xerath. But years before the great empire's fall, he was framed for the poisoning of the emperor's [Azir's] son. In front of Azir, he got down on his knees, proclaiming his innocence. But his pleas were to no avail. Charged for the murder of the prince, he was sentenced to death and was cast into the deepest ravine in the desert. To all of Shurima, he died that day. And a terrible and agonizing death it was, for he survived the fall. His injury was fatal, and as he lay dying, with his last breath, he cursed the one who plotted against him --- his very own apothecary apprentice. "You will pay for this!" he shouted, as the insectoids of the abyss engulfed him and began feasting on his flesh.

Now, millennia later --- as Azir himself had risen as an Ascended being --- Qattik, too, had risen... Although, he didn't rise Ascended like Azir. And he didn't rise alive, either. He had risen as quite the opposite. His fleshed returned, but it was in a state of decomposition. Or rather, his flesh was decomposition.

Having returned, he vows to exact his revenge on the one who betrayed him. Having been trained with a blade and whip during his time in the Shuriman military forces, he fashions a whipsword from the remains of the dead creatures of the deep ravine and from his own flesh.

General Champion Information:

  1. Melee; uses a whipsword fashioned from bones and rotting flesh
  2. 325 Movement speed

Champion Abilities:

  • Passive: Diseased Vessel When Qatik damages an enemy with a basic attack or ability, he inflicts Infected, stacking up to 3 times. An Infected enemy champion has their total movement speed decreased by 5/10/15% (Level 1/11/16) per Infected stack for 3 seconds. Upon receiving a third stack of Infected, an enemy becomes Plagued. When an enemy champion becomes Plagued, for 3/4/5 seconds (Level 1/11/16), Qatik gains movement speed equal to the amount of movement speed that the Plagued champion has lost. Infected can be refreshed with Qatik's basic attacks and abilities, and an enemy champion can be Plagued once every 20/15/10 seconds (Level 1/11/16).

  • **Q: Rotted Whiplash ** Qatik extends the chainblade of his whipsword, lashing it forward and slamming it on the ground to deal 30/45/60/75/90 (+0.5 Ability Power)(+0.2 Total Movement Speed) magic damage to all enemies hit. Rotted Whiplash leaves a large trail of disease behind that lingers for 2 seconds that Infects enemies. An enemy champion gains an Infected stack per second in this trail of disease.

  • ** W: Decayed and Remade** Passive: Every time an enemy champion becomes Plagued, Qatik permanently gains 0.5 Movement Speed and 20 Health. Active: **Qatik **integrates the life force from Infected enemies with his own, absorbing Infected stacks from nearby enemies and generating a shield for himself for 10/15/20/25/30 (+0.1 Ability Power)(1% of Max Health) for each Infected stack absorbed. After 3 seconds, the shield detonates dealing magic damage in the full amount of the initial shield. If the shield is destroyed before it detonates, Qatik is healed for 50% of the initial shield amount. Shielding or health that would be gained from minions or monsters is 33% effective.

  2. Detonation Radius: 500

  • E: Chained Flesh Qatik lunges his whipsword forward to deal 30/35/40/45/50 (+0.3 Ability Power)(+0.3 Total Movement Speed) single target magic damage. Chained Flesh roots the enemy for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds. If the target is Infected, Chained Flesh deals 50% increased damage and stuns the enemy instead. If the target is Plagued, Chained Flesh deals 100% increased damage and stuns the target for an additional 0.5 seconds.

  • ** R: Chasmic Plague** Qatik raises his large whipsword in the air where his weapon breaks down into deathly debris and he unleashes a plague in a moderate area of effect. Chasmic Plague applies a stack of Infected every second. Infected enemies affected by Chasmic Plague take 15/25/25 (+0.025 Ability Power) magic damage per second per Infected stack for 10 seconds. For 5 seconds after being hit by Chasmic Plague, enemy champions lose health from healing sources, rather than receiving healing. If a Plagued enemy dies to Chasmic Plague, they will spread Chasmic Plague to other nearby enemies for half the damage and half the duration.

  3. Spread Radius on Plague Kill: 500

Anyways, yeah. First time I designed a champ. Not sure how good or bad it is. I didn't put too much time thinking about the numbers. I'll be the first one to comment :D First of all, excuse my poor english level, since i'm not an english native speaker ^^' Then, I'm here only to help you develop your creation, to make it playable in the actual League of Legends, therefore all my posts are not aiming at being mean or bad, or at discrediting your work, I'm only here to help !

Now, let's jump into your champion ! First, the background: you decided to join your champion to Azir's and Shurima's global background. I'm not really sure Azir's son was once poisoned, but i trust you on that one. I don't really understand why and how he is not dead, and how he got those powers

Now, let's look at the skills:

  • your passive is really good: lot of crowd control, plus a mobility buff for you. But please, give your champion a normal movespeed ! Because 275 is just unbelievable ! You can't move with that xD Even if your passive gives you movespeed, you'd better give at least 325 (that is the lowest base movespeed in the game).

  • your Q: it makes me think to Sylas' Q. You deal magic dmg on a specific area, and you infest the ennemies who are staying on it, both simple and good. I'd just say that you could increase the dmg, especially the ones based on your movespeed (because it's what makes your champion unique).

  • your W: passive is not a good idea. Stacking permanently is not really appreciated in LoL, and all stackers in LoL are very difficult to balance (Veigar, Nasus and Sion have all very specific gameplays, and i believe that stacking both HP and movespeed will just be really hard to balance. Maybe something that would give you temporary bonuses when you are near a champion that became plagued few minutes ago (You could gain movespeed and dmg reduction when you are near a champion you plagued less than 3 minutes ago: it would give you an easy lane, and your team fighting would be around plaguing as much champions as possible to get your movespeed and your dmg reduction more efficient). Your active is a good idea too, but the numbers are to be fixed i think, if you take into account the minions you plague. Because one Q on a full wave of minions would infest them all, and would give you an enormous shield.

  • your E: again, a really good idea, but your dmg are basically insane ^^ on a plagued target, your E deals 70/80/90/100 (+1.4 AP) (+0.6 movespeed) and there is a number missing (your spell should have 5 ranks, not 4). It means you could reach, with 600 AP and 350 movespeed (which is pretty low), a spell dealing a bit more than 1k dmg (around 1150 dmg, without MR reduction), plus a hard CC. That is quite huge ^^

  • your R: once more, you have a good idea, just fix the numbers :) dealing 70 dmg (+0.2 AP) per sec during 10 sec means dealing 700 (+2 AP) in an area. With 600 AP, you'd deal around 1900 dmg PER STACK. Multiplied by 3, we get to 5700 dmg. You can basically one shot the whole ennemy team with one spell ^^ and they will struggle to escape it, since you will play with Rilay (slow on your spells) and because your spell gets spread by dying ennemies. Just highly reduce the dmg, and the spell will be good. I was thinking that the spell could make the ennemy team more vulnerable, since they are all sick, so they take more dmg ?

  2. All enemies (including a Soraka below 600 health)
  3. Soraka ulting

Kit wise, I love the ideas but the abilities don't feel fleshed out. XD This would be a kit like zoe's where the second they start testing it, you have to flash away at level 2 or you're dead. Like @TRUCBIZZARD said, I'm not here to criticize you in any way. This is purely about your design and making it fun/enjoyable to play as well as to play against.

Lore wise: Guy who died well before shurima's fall somehow revives when azir revives. - Is what i'm reading. It's a good theme but the story might need more to it. It's a good premise though and paints the picture well enough to announce your kit.

On to the kit: My main problem is I dont like the Passive, W, and the ult.

  • Passive: Again, I love the idea of infecting enemies but I don't like the perma-slow, and I dislike "stealing" movement speed (personal preference). I was very happy when they removed it from Malphite.
  • W: Just like @TRUCBIZZARD said, that passive on the W is very VERY difficult to balance as well as just not liked. As for the active, I like the idea of a shield that gets bigger with nearby infected, but as the ability stands, it is a lifeline ability that cant be used as a lifeline due to it needing to be set up. (Even if setup is easy)
  • Ult: Again, just like @TRUCBIZZARD said, inverting healing is definitely a bad idea. The ult also feels lackluster and definitely feels like a fire and forget in hopes the enemy stands in the area for 10s. (this type of ult is almost completely negated by dorans shield and adaptive helm btw.)

The kit is very inspiring as it is though. If I were to make a kit based on this one, it would probably be something along the lines of:

Passive: Diseased Vessel

Innate: Qatik's basic attacks and abilities apply a stack of Infection up to a cap of N (Max) on champions and large/epic monsters. (stack duration refreshes when new stacks are applied and basic attacks apply multiple stacks) Qatik gains % bonus movement speed increased for every nearby enemy champion affected by Infection. (so if all 5 enemies are affected, he gains 5x the speed buff)

Innate: Qatik's basic abilities are granted new effects when hitting enemy champions with N Infection stacks. Additionally, Qatik's basic attacks deal bonus physical damage to enemies with N infection stacks and continuously refresh the duration of Infection.

Q: Rotted Whiplash

Active: Qatik lashes in a target direction dealing physical damage in a long line. Enemies near the end of the lash are dealt bonus damage and slowed along with inflicting multiple stacks of Infection.

If Qatik hits an enemy with N stacks of Infection, Qatik is healed for a % of the damage dealt.

Additionally, This ability's CD is reduced by moving.

W: Carrion Expulsion

Active: Qatik shields himself for an amount. After a delay, Qatik is able to recast Carrion Expulsion to remove the shield and deal magic damage in a 360° circle around Qatik.

If Qatik hits an enemy with N stacks of Infection, Qatik regains the initial shield.

Additionally, This ability's CD is reduced while out of combat.

E: Chained Flesh

Active: Qatik stabs at a target enemy unit dealing physical damage and rooting the target.

The range of this ability is increased when near an enemy with N stacks and will pull the unit to Qatik dealing physical damage and stunning them for a short duration upon reaching qatik.

R: Caustic Threshold

Passive: Qatik charges Infection while out of combat. His first basic attack against a champion or large/epic monster will deal bonus magic damage and apply extra stacks of Infection.

Active: Qatik leaps to a ground target area dealing magic damage, slowing all enemies hit, and creating a plagued grounds that slowly increases in size. Enemies standing on the plague grounds are inflicted with grievous wounds. Qatik gains a large bonus in attack speed while on the plagued grounds.
