Greetings everyone! Welcome again to this month's Community Concept Open Stage. In this contest, I ask for any and all Champion Concepts posted in the month of July or earlier, and run it by a temporarily anonymous panel of fellow Summoners! If you're interested at all, read on! Everything is detailed below.

Note: Don't hesitate to call out errors, mistakes happen!

Prizes:

  • Top 5 concepts will be highlighted and praised in the results announcement.
  • ALL entries will have a score associated with their concept in the scoring categories as well as a good chance at feedback and critiques.
  • ALL entries will be referenced in the CCOS Archive to be viewed later.

Entry Requirements:

  • Limit ONE entry per player.
  • Concept Entries must have been posted this month or last month (as in this month; July 2016, and last month; June 2016), or otherwise never entered in a CCOS before.
  • No WIP Concepts please. This contest is here to encourage complete content. WIP Concepts will be disqualified.
  • Concept Entries must be YOURS. If the linked Concept's author and your name are different, your entry will be disqualified.
  • Entries will be taken from now until I post a [Contest Closed] thread on the 15th.
  • All entries must have a LORE and a KIT section to be considered a concept. More is needed to remain competitive, but to be entered you need at least that. Concepts without a LORE and a KIT will be considered a WIP Concept, and thus disqualified.
  • The first 60 entries will be taken. Any posts above that limit will not be entered.
  • Entrants can be disqualified based on rude behavior towards other entrants / judges (though negative feedback, so long as it is constructive, is fine), as well as disregarding of the Universal Forum Rules (no, porn is NOT a legitimate reference image). Other major problems may also qualify.

How to Enter:

  1. Post your concept normally within the Skin & Champion Concepts Board, if it's not already posted.
  2. Reply to THIS POST with a link to Step 1.
  3. Wait for me to reply with "Entry Confirmed!". If it takes more than a few days for me to reply, don't hesitate to remind me! I might've missed you!
  4. Watch the "Current Entrants" List above and double check that you're up there, if you are, then you're in!

Note: There is max of SIXTY slots.

Timeline:

  • 7/5/16 - CCOS begins, entries taken
  • 7/15/16 - Entries no longer taken, judging begins
  • 7/22/16- Judging stops, buffer time begins
  • 7/25/16- Results announced

Scoring: There are changes to the scoring, so pay attention! Entries will be scored based on five categories with the following weighting...

Note: If you have any questions on a category, I'd be happy to go into more detail.

Good Neighbor Bonus (thanks Echoing for a great name): There are extra points available each months! To grab some extra points on your entry, be a good neighbor and critique another entrant's Concept. How so? First...

  1. Visit another entrant's Concept and give some awesome and / or critical feedback that they can use.
  2. Click 'Permalink' on the comment from Step 1, and copy the URL from that.
  3. Paste that URL in a link in your own post, in a place a judge can find it, so they know that you've been a cool person, and helped out another entrant.

Note: 5 Bonus Points can be awarded EACH time you critique another entrant's Concept, so do this often! Helping everyone is good. The critique has to be good though, no shirking, and you can't gain more than 25 extra points in this way!

Judges Needed: So if you're at all interested in judging this month, E-Mail me at '[email protected]' and I'll give you more info. I encourage lots of questions! I ALWAYS need more judges, and there is no detriment to stop trying and walk away halfway through (because a lot can come up over the course of a month).

But I've never made a Concept before....

Never fear! The Sir is here! Sir ArmaMalum made an Introduction to Champion Concepts post just for you! New conceptors are not only welcomed, but are also encouraged to participate! I will be happy to take questions about making a Champion Concept as well. Getting new conceptors into the scene with confidence behind their Concept is a huge motive behind this event!

I have a WIP Concept...

Feel free to post and work on your Concept as much as you want. It's not technically entered until you provide the link to the entries thread. Just make sure you're not the 61st entry, and that the Concept was either made in July, or has not yet been entered into a CCOS!

I don't have a Concept, and I don't have time to judge, but I want to help!

This is still cool. The single best way for you to help is to give feedback. Negative or positive, just make sure it's constructive, and that the author can use it effectively if they choose to do so. In fact, if you want some tips on giving feedback to Champion Concepts, please check out Jaykoboy's awesome guide here.

Can I change my Concept after entry?

As encouraging feedback and Concept participation is a major motive behind this contest, I encourage iterating on a Concept, HOWEVER you have to be able to argue it's still the same champion, so no major changes. Otherwise, it will have to count as a new entry, with your previous entry being disqualified. Please keep in mind that your entry doesn't start until you provide the link here; If you want feedback before entering I advise you to simply post it normally, and provide the link when you feel you're ready. Just be sure to enter before the entry period ends, and before we hit 60 entries!

Can I change my Concept after judging starts?

Yes, but this may not be the smartest thing to do. The judges peruse the entries at their own pace, in whatever order they desire. This means there is no guarantee that your changes will be seen. If you do make changes, especially late in the judging period, you have to be prepared for a score that does not accurately reflect your final Concept.

Support the CCOS: Some of you have been doing this already, but if you'd like to support the CCOS, as well as get more people involved each month, provide a link to this post on your entry so that others can find it easier. This lets the CCOS accrue more visibility without anyone needing to spam reminders. This is by no means a requirement, but thanks to anyone who does help out!

P.S.: EDITS - (7/5/2016)

  • Good Neighbor Bonus replaces Bonus Additions thanks to very detailed explanations given by concerned entrants. You can now only earn extra points leaving feedback for other entrants. Anyone affected by this change who felt influenced by the Bonuses, or wanted to incorporate them, may rework the portions that are affected by this change with no worries attached.
  • Fixed some typos and grammatical errors.

Hello BigBen! I've got two concepts and a problem.

You see, I think both of these concepts are really good, and I enjoy them equally as well as I have put equal effort into the two. However, I cannot figure out which one I'd like to enter. With that being said, would you do me the honour of choosing one for me?

I also shot you an email offering my services as an emergency Judge if you're ever short on any-- As much as I enjoy submitting concepts I am always more than willing to step up to the plate-- I'd rather not submit a concept and make sure the CCOS happens each month instead of it not.

ALSO bonus points can't exceed the existing 100 points, right? So they'd just make up for points lost in the base amount of points one can achieve I hope? Either way, I feel that people would be able to get a high placement over a high graded concept just on the basis that they hit all the qualifications for bonus points but flunked the base 100 points.

In the future I'd highly advise away from bonus points to be frank-- Maybe a small 10 point single bonus requirement but that's as far as I'd go.

These bonus categories are absolutely disgusting. Remove them. As a former host of the MCCC, that kind of crud deserves its own competition instead of being a blight upon the freedom of the CCOS.

Well it doesn't fit any of the bonus challenges but oh well. I'd rather just see if my concept works than tailor make a champion just to fit the bonus criteria.

I'd like to enter..Reina, the Wisp Watcher Also choosing between two of your concepts is...difficult.

Also how would you classify 'disable'? Would it be just hard CC or ANY kind of enemy affecting effect?

Nice to see the effort category making a comeback tho.

Those extra bonus point categories have definitely dissuaded me from creating an entry this time around like I had originally hoped to do. =/

Omg x.x I had posted a rework of an older concept, but its nowhere near ready now that i think about it......... I'll enter Ethea, The Primordial Spirit in stead :) It's really nice that I can enter older concepts now...I had planned on skipping the Juny CCOS cus I have come upon some kind of writer block for multiple concepts that I have been working on :/ Sorry for Echoing :x He already gave my first planned entry for this month a review....

Edit: OMG WHY!!! that bonus challenge of the support/assassin is perfect for my entry of last month x.x I'd really have appreciated it if you had posted the bonus challenges earlier. I like a challenge, but now I don't have time to work one of them in my concept....

LAST REMINDER EVERYONE!

Tomorrow the 15th is the last day to sign up! It's also the last day to make sure your entries all have a complete slate of Abilities, and at least something of a Lore. If neither are present, I'll have to disqualify you!

I'll also be accepting judges through the judging period, and judges will get an Email with all the necessary details on the 16th, the day judging period begins, or the day following their request to be a judge.
