CHAMP CONCEPT: Nakuku, the Tribal Drummer
So... I had an Idea for a champion that was similar to
, but I never got around to it. But without further ado, here is Nakuku, the Tribal Drummer.
Appearance: Nakuku is a chubby, shaggy-haired man (think Maui from Moana) with a grass skirt, a white mask over his face, and a large pair of bongo drums. His body is covered in mysterious, tribal tattoos. He is followed around by little Tiki soldiers--small, hairy guys with similar masks to Nakuku, little spears, and grass skirts.
Lore: "The tribe has spoken." As the words, softly spoken yet harsh, slid out of the man's mouth, I felt scared. For the first time in a long time, I was scared. Me and my fellow explorers were trekking through an Ionian rainforest, simply there to document the wildlife. That's when they started disappearing. First, it was our navigator. She screamed as they took her, in the middle of the night, but once we were fully awake, she was already silenced. Then our cook. That blow may have hit the hardest. He didn't make a sound when they took him, but when we awoke, a tropical fruit breakfast wasn't awaiting us as usual. At this point, there were only three of us left; our bodyguard, my wife, and I. Our bodyguard was a tough man. Some say he was, despite being a full-blown Ionian, raised by Noxians. He would die for us, which he did. I heard someone grunting in pain. I sat up, alert, and saw him, our bodyguard, being torn apart by their weapons. That's when I got my first good look at them. They were small. Easily as small as my head. But they had the numbers. Five or six of them swarmed over our bodyguard, stabbing their little spears into him as he swung his broadsword wildly about, frantically trying to defend himself. I had seen that man decimate half an army, yet here he was, being ravaged by tiny little creatures. His blood stained the ground of our campsite next morning. My wife was scared. Too scared to continue. She ran after he died, and I never saw her again. After ten or so minutes, I heard her. It was faint, but I could hear her cries of pain like she was right next to me. I knew I was next. So I stayed at camp. I calmly surveyed the area around me. Until that night. I let them take me. I knew resistance would get me nowhere. They carried me to a clearing in the middle of the forest. I could see a small hut near the edge, and a large fire roared in the center. That's when he walked out of the hut. He. The largest man I had ever seen. He slowly ambled towards me, his feet making large indents in the ground. "The tribe has spoken." He could have thrown me in the fire. He could have had his pawns shred me. But no. With one swift motion in his massive wrist, he himself crushed my torso. As I convulsed on the ground, the last thing I heard was him, playing his drums, as the little ones danced around me.
Basic attack range: 500 Nakuku attacks by beating his drums and sending out small shockwaves.
NOTE: I'M AWFUL AT BALANCING STATS, SO I'M LEAVING OUT DAMAGE, COOLDOWNS, ETC.
SKILLSET: Passive: Drum Spirit >While in combat, using abilities creates one tiki minion. He has a maximum of 3 minions, and that number goes up by 1 every time he upgrades his ultimate. The tikis automatically attack nearby enemies, prioritizing champions. The tikis have 100 health. Spirit tikis are summoned by certain abilities. Spirit tikis will not attack nearby enemies, but are untargetable. They vanish after 3 seconds, or until you use your Q.
Q: Gang Up/Spirit Calling (This one's similar yet different to Azir's Q.) >Nakuku targets a large, circular area. All tikis (including the one spawned by this ability) within the circle leap towards the center. Upon hitting a champion, spirit tikis equivalent to your max # of tikis spawn around the target, and Spirit Calling can be cast within a 3-second window. Spirit calling is the exact same ability, except spirit tikis will attack with it. Spirit tikis do the same amount of damage as regular ones, with a SMALL amount of true damage. If you activate Gang Up or Spirit Calling on a Totem, a ring of EXTRA spirit tikis forms around the totem and leaps inward along with the normal effects.
W: Fall Back! >All tikis (besides spirit tikis, and including the tiki summoned by this ability) in a radius around Nakuku immediately rush back and jump onto him, forming a shield equivalent to half of all of your active tikis' max health+a % of your max health, but slowing your movement speed by 50%. Once the shield is broken, the tikis fall off around Nakuku. Tikis in your shield will still attack for your Q.
E: Tribal Totem (Sort of like Trundle's E) >Nakuku creates a large Totem at a target area. The totem is untargetable and lasts for 5 seconds, and units can freely move through it. The Totem has a circle around it, and while in that circle, Nakuku, his tikis, and allied champions have increased movement speed and attack speed.
R: Drummer's Requiem >Nakuku starts rapidly pounding his drums. He and his tikis get a large movement speed bonus. Also, Nakuku's attack speed becomes fixed to the tempo of his drum beat, and his basic attacks deal additional magic damage. His drum beat can only speed up further by using Nakuku's E. Additionally, he gains permanent extra spirit tikis equal to his max tikis. These spirit tikis last until the ult ends, and will autoattack nearby enemies.
So... that's my champ concept for Nakuku, the Tribal Drummer! PLEASE comment on your opinions, or if there is anything here that confused you! Thanks for reading!
