Kai'sa Shield VS Vayne Stealth

Kai'sa is literally the only ADC with a shield in her base kit, unless you count Urgot, but everyone knows he's far from an ADC.

Now, let's compare her to a similar champ--Vayne. Let's look at differences in their big mobility ults--Vayne has invisibility, making it HARDER TO DO DAMAGE, while Kai'sa gets a BIGASS SHIELD, making it IMPOSSIBLE TO DO DAMAGE. I've seen Kai'sa ults not for repositioning, not for dodging a skillshot, but for the shield alone when they're about to lose a fight. Yeah, a Vayne might use her ult to escape a bad situation, but having a skillshot that gives stealth and can be predicted by an opponent's skillshot definitely requires more skill than "oh shit, boutta die!" and pressing R on Kai'sa.

I just feel like, while Kai'sa's long-ranged dash is a cool mobility tool that allows for amazing counterplay, the shield is the exact opposite.

  1. Reduce base shield amount to 50 / 75 / 100 from 75 / 100 / 125.

  2. Reduce AD scaling to 100% from 100 - 150 - 200%.

  3. Reduce AP scaling to 50% from 75%.

There, that should fix it.

Kai'Sa is also one of the very few ADCs who doesn't have ANY CC to speak of in her kit. While Vayne may have invisibility, she also has self peel in Condemn to help her get rid of pursuers or get out of sticky scenarios. Kai'Sa has nothing except her shield and her like 1 seconds of invisibility (if she's building AS) to get out of a hairy situation.

I get your sentiment, I really do, but her shield is not something you need to be taking offense with. It's her staggering damage output, coupled with how difficult it is to build against her mixed damage.

its similar to how i feel about yasuo's flow and team displacement trigger for R. Its just crutch mechanics on a champ that's supposed to be skill intensive.
