I hope this could be considered, with the client update

Redditor "TheStormsFury" made a "revamp" of the abilities HUD. It was made so it could sync well with the new HUD (something Riot forgot to update with the HUD)

Here are a few examples from him:

Basic ability HUD https://i.imgur.com/R8YLUCg.png

Ability level up HUD https://i.imgur.com/7mueI2L.png

Example on Ekko https://i.imgur.com/iAbDeFd.png

This is darn good and I would do anything to get this updated to sync with the HUD. Consider this the best examples there is Riot.

This is beautiful! I love seeing things like this, it really shows how much room there is for the game to grow.

Cheekynorth5/28/2016, 9:29:57 AM21 votes

Please

This makes it so much easier to understand what I'm getting with each level up on abilities and why it's worth getting it

Chad Chadlainn5/28/2016, 1:02:31 AM13 votes

This is actually a very good idea! I wholeheartedly support the addition of this. Perhaps there could be a way to turn it on/off, too? Because I could see someone trying to say that it may prove to be too complicated for new players. An interface option? Either way, this would be very cool.

Dunkrius2g5/28/2016, 1:24:44 AM6 votes

Also add the full damage dealt for abilities done as DOT.

E.g.

Hemmorhage: Darius's basic attacks and damaging abilities cause enemies to bleed for 27 (X) physical damage over 5 seconds, stacking up to 5 times.

NEW: Darius's basic attacks and damaging abilities cause enemies to bleed for 27 (+X) physical damage over 5 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. Maximum damage: 135 (+X) physical damage.

Also, add an opacity option. I don't like dying cause i couldn't see a skill shot coming from under my HUD X(

Rikirie5/28/2016, 3:32:49 AM3 votes

I am a fan of the yellow text, I find the white to be really hard to read at times.

Only one thing to perfection. I believe "leveling" ability is "slang". It should be properly called "ranking" so instead of "Level 1" it should be "Rank I". Since the Ranks are 1-5, ocasionally 6, I think even better aesthetically it would be to use Rank I Rank II Rank III Rank IV Rank V Rank VI or Maximum Rank in case it's maxed.

Other than that this is wonderful design.

Biff Manly5/28/2016, 5:13:02 AM2 votes

Maybe make this like the "extra stats" panel, where you have a key you can press to display the extra information, while only the basic info we have now appears normally.

Atanchan5/28/2016, 8:06:37 AM2 votes

This is likely not going to be part of the client update as that's like considering bringing back some fish for dinner while doing some work in the middle of a desert, but whenever Riot does some more tinkering with the HUD I'd love to see this.

Leetri5/28/2016, 6:49:30 PM2 votes

Really like how it shows you how the ability scales rank 1-5 instead of only the next rank, it makes it a LOT easier to realize what ability you want to max first. It was one of my favourite things in Dota 2, really hope Riot will add something like that.

Dr Poro5/28/2016, 7:06:21 PM2 votes

I like your lay out, but the font is very hard to read for me.

The ability to see how your abilities scale (without having to sit on a level-up) is very helpful.

kaltenashes5/28/2016, 4:19:47 PM1 votes

it has been posted here before, i know that because i've seen it before and i dont use reddit

Sum Wun Speshal5/28/2016, 4:47:48 PM1 votes

The design looks really good and clean. They should only try to make the tooltip a little smaller to not take up too much space.

Arakadia5/28/2016, 5:08:10 PM1 votes

I'm torn. It looks cool, but I'm stuck in the past and dont want change xD

Elikain5/28/2016, 5:09:35 PM1 votes

This looks pretty clean, to be honest. I hope that they update the tooltip design as well because this one seems more intuitive and actually very helpful in understanding how much damage, cost, CD or CC the skill does without ever having to remember it all together.

It might help some people understand what to level in certain situations, without having to resort to lol wikia in the middle of the game.

Aheadatime5/28/2016, 5:18:07 PM1 votes

I like it, but I'd still want the ability's cooldown to be a different color from the rest of the text.

UPfreely5/28/2016, 5:32:15 PM1 votes

I really like the added information to the abilities. Current text styling/colors has better readability though. Combine them and you have a real winner though!

Castanean5/28/2016, 5:34:07 PM1 votes

It's beautiful, and so much easier to read! I want this to happen. Riot, I humbly request that you GET YOUR BOTTUM SIDES IN GEAR AND MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Please? It would be nice. And certainly appreciated.

DeathToEcchi5/28/2016, 5:50:40 PM1 votes

Hire the man Riot!

Lydia in Doorway5/28/2016, 12:24:22 PM1 votes

Yes.

Rekkoha5/28/2016, 6:33:32 PM1 votes

Holy, that looks so nice. Way smoother and sleek.

Þºº6/12/2016, 12:02:53 AM1 votes

@Riot YES PLEASE this is much more clear to understand

Blu3 burgler3/21/2017, 6:44:40 AM1 votes

I soo need to know how much bonus dmg i do... would help me soooo much! plz riot! add this!!!

Onkel Malte5/28/2016, 7:27:34 PM1 votes

PLS RITO

krazeeight5/28/2016, 11:15:39 PM1 votes

Wow, even the simple rearrangement of stats on the tooltips there makes it sooo much easier to see what you're getting. Perhaps Riot could also allow us to flip your HUD vertically for when we are playing the game on red side?

TTK Dreadnought5/28/2016, 11:20:17 PM1 votes

why not just make it an option in the gameplay settings. not everyone wants large overlays like that. this way it can be the current version by default, and then have an advance version option for players who want it (like me)

Cheese Pope5/28/2016, 11:32:51 PM1 votes

The client update doesn't touch the actual game, but great idea!

iamthegoatofwar5/29/2016, 12:04:30 AM1 votes

oh oh oh also can I see how much damage I'm going to do total when I cast it? It's hard to describe what I mean, but the general idea of what I mean sounds fairly obvious like "total damage dealt to one target will be X"

Seekêr5/29/2016, 12:31:17 AM1 votes

Maybe not the purple, makes it hard to see.

World Ender5/29/2016, 3:12:14 AM1 votes

It is definitely nice, but the text is a bit hard to read.

Hay5eed5/29/2016, 3:43:52 AM1 votes

Simply beautiful.

LynXerf5/29/2016, 7:53:00 AM1 votes

This ultimately achieves greater clarity, which is one of the keywords Riot loves to bang on about. Yet this is a simple example of how to really improve the interface. You have a much better breakdown of the figures and a clearer indication of what the ability does and how it correlates to your stats.

Plus it looks a whole lot better.

cdhus5/29/2016, 8:34:19 AM1 votes

Damn that's great

OyddAWqJ5r5/29/2016, 12:06:56 PM1 votes

Copying and reposting every week til it goes live or gets confirmed

Marasenna5/30/2016, 8:24:51 AM1 votes

I really love this! It adds a very clean element to the tooltips and such!

ChaosThief5/30/2016, 11:57:44 PM1 votes

My only request would to state the damage bonus from the AP, then the parenthesis.

Pale Pirate5/28/2016, 3:15:00 PM1 votes

Im in for anything that makes huge ability descriptions easier to read.

Not Katarina5/28/2016, 4:03:59 PM1 votes

Beautiful! Looks to provide a lot of clarity too. Do want.
