@Riot: Noxus Poppy's Texture Update look horrible

I love Noxus Poppy skin, it's one of my most valued skin in the game. However, I just saw Poppy's new texture for her Noxus skin and it looks horrible compared to the original. Brown hair? Ok... I guess I can accept that. Green face paint? Umm... why? None of these she has in her Noxus splash art.

Her armor? Looks like a Play Doh now considering the details of her armor is completely unnoticeable.

I understand she's getting a full rework soon (both kit rework and visual update) and I understand these TU are just a temporary placement but it's just... I don't know. I'm sure I'll get over it once her rework comes out but it's disappointing to see how different it is.

she looks all sickly green, and her hair isn't black. Her armor isn't shiny enough either. Old version actually looks better for once.

So tired of them changing the colors of skins in texture rebalances. They did that with Asylum Shaco's hat now from teal to blue :(

Eh, that greenish skin looks horrible. Not sure why it's not just the full on white like before. Why would they change that?

They probably cant get away with such obvious references anymore, hence why Noxus Poppy can't look like a KISS band member. Back when this skin was made LoL was obscure enough that it probably didnt matter or it just went under the radar. However, once Riot gained a real following they couldn't monetize such a blatant replica of KISS's signature (and probably trademarked) makeup. Thus it was removed from the store and untouched for years. Now that they're forced to bring it into the modern era, they cannot keep the signature KISS getup.

It's unfortunate, but I'm sure that when Rammus gets an update his King Rammus skin will have somewhat altered colors as well.

Cause that's what those colors are. It's not like they couldn't use the colors that were already on Noxus poppy

Did they just look at Lolipoppy and say "we can do worse"?

It's literally the first patch for the cycle on PBE. Give it another day or so and they will fix the colors.

I'd rather be pissed to make sure they notice there's a problem, rather than just expect them to.

I find both versions too ugly to use atm

I own this skin too, but really don't like how it looks. Hopefully that changes with the VU.

Considering how much Riot's texture rebalance team hates the color black, I'm surprised they actually made her armor blacker than before.

I still can't stand Xerath's texture update, because it looked like someone took the brightness slider and just slid it over. Nocturne for more detail in his armor as a way to lighten it up. Shaco's black side is being lightened even. Yet this Poppy skin gets darker? That doesn't seem very consistent. I'm betting they'll brighten it up later on the PBE.

I say the face and hair I dont like. she's supposed to have black hair and white skin with black marks. Now her face has a kinda nasty green color to it and her hair just doesn't complete her style with it brown. Her old skin reminds me of KISS and I personally like it and think it should stay that way.

Another case of the skin team using an eyedropper on the Splash image to color the skin. See: Viridian Kayle and Redeemed Riven and probably many more.

They aren't taking into consideration the lighting in SR versus the lighting in the splash image.

They completely screwed up the scion skin I owned too. Instead of the futuristic terminator look he has a wood stove in his stomach. Are the VU people just to stupid to recognize a theme?

That is really the only explanation is they are complete morons who have no concept of how to recognize a theme

tbh i do not like many of the new textures on many of the champions, and the Noxus poppy i have to say looks awful.

My gf loves poppy and owns most of the poppy skins (Noxus is one she doesnt own) but i was looking forward to the next time it became available to get it for her but when i saw the new texture i was thinking i dont think i would bother as the od one looks awesome the new one like so many of the other new textures looks horrible.

If you even look at the classic skin for poppy, look at the detail in her hair from the old/current one and then look at it in the new/upcoming one. The detail has gone and that is just the hair, the detail on the armor on noxus poppy you can hardly make out because it is black and not silver so it really looks like she is wearing just black armor rather than a cool suit of armor.

This is me also just talking about poppy but if you actually go through all the skin texture balances to fit with the new summoners rift for "Clarity purposes" then you will see how many have actually been made worse.

the old summoners rift and old textures were pretty cool and seemed to have a lot of detail, the new ones seem cheap and quickly done with not as much detail in it.

I just wish we had the option to play on the old summoners rift with the old textures and not be "Forced" into using the new one.

I can agree her face needs to be more white. Her armor could also be a little more clear. Part of these texture updates is to reduce the "visual noise" that excess detail creates--basically, up close it looks good, but far away it just looks messy. However, I can see them adding just a little bit of color to her armor to bring out SOME detail. Highlight a part or two with silver or brown, because otherwise her armor's details just sort of blend together.

The brown hair was a weird choice, but not terrible.
