Seriously, after all the bug has gone through this year, the botched rework, the second rework to fix the first one that Riot Scruffy screwed up. And now one of the most half hazard attempts at a battlecast skin that fans of skarner have been waiting over 3 years for......

I think its sweet, but not 1850 sweet 1350 is reasonable
The biggest problem is that it doesn't look like Skarner (or a scorpion, for that matter) and it doesn't really feel like Skarner. It lacks a lot of his core visual elements.
Skarner has claws, legs, and a somewhat bulky frame. This new skin gave him chainsaw arms, took away his bulk, and gave him treads. He doesn't scuttle anymore - he drives.
On the positive side, the tail is a neat idea and it looks pretty good. Beyond that, it should have gone back to the drawing board.
The biggest problem is one that the OP identified - This was three years in the making. Skarner fans was desperately wanted this, especially since he had been neglected for so long. This does not look like three years' worth of work. Frankly, the 975 El Tigre Braum skin looks like it got more love than this one...
In all honesty it is kind of a let down from all the other battle casts and legendary skins, I wouldn't call it lazy I'd just call it a let down for a legendary skin, it should have been 1350 rp, because it's still pretty cool looking.
I think it looks amazing.

i like it for the most part. the effects are sexy and vo is also sexy. have mixed feeling about the claws and tail. the head looks a bit awkward but other then that i like. wouldnt call it lazy it just isnt your cup of tea. does this mean shaco ult skin confirmed
I personally don't like his head (it looks likes Zeds). So he doesn't have hydraulic claw clamps( Vikor probably used all the hydraulics on Cho'gath bite) I like the saws better. I'm 50/50 on the treads (would like to see one with legs for comparison. I like his tail.
