Yorick gameplay and abilities visual rework
Disclaimer. I really don't know how Yorick plays and why everyone is so hyped around him and also prefer Lee Sin's micro mechanics to Heimerdinger's turtling mechanics. Nevertheless current Yorick gameplay looks too simplistic and basic: do something -> spawn a ghoul -> do more things and spawn ghouls again.
[What?] Yorick rework. Overall idea is that instead of spawning ghouls Yorick places an effigy-like totems that transform the ground around them and bestow different effects on transformed area.
[Details] All his abilities with sole exception of ultimate work in similar way. Yorick places a ward-like effigy. Omen. It transforms ground around it and grants effect to units standing on transformed ground. At the moment of placement radius of transformed ground is 0 and enlarges by 1 every 2 seconds. There is a maximum radius of transformation. Yorick can place multiple omens but the effect of the same type doesn't stack. When Yorick upgrades ability - effect of existing omens upgrade automatically. There is a cap of how many omens of the same type can be active. Cap increases with skill level. Omens can be destroyed by enemy champions or monsters. Omens have number of hits like wards. If destroying them is too easy - they are targetable only to those who stands on desecrated ground. Minions don't attack omens. Monsters attack omens if they receive damage from Omen of Pestilence. Effect is applied when Yorick is close to the omen. Otherwise it stays in passive state or has it's transformation radius decreased over time to 0.
[Mechanics] "Omen of War" - Grants Yorick and allied champions bonus damage. "Omen of Pestilence" - Deals magic damage every second to enemy units. "Omen of Famine" - Slowly decreases maximum health of enemy units to a certain cap. When entering the area enemy units are slowed for a few seconds. "Omen of Death" - Yorick places an omen. After a second its effect is applied in a small area. All minions and small monsters die instantly. Enemy and allied champions get dragged under earth for 2 seconds. Both allied and enemy champions receive magic damage (allied champions receive heavily reduced damage). Passive: Yorick gets bonus to his stats when he is close to his omens. Every omen in 1000 radius gives him a bonus depending on skill level and omen type. Omen of War gives bonus attack damage. Omen of Pestilence gives bonus magic damage on hit. Omen of Famine increases his max health and regen.
[Visual effects] "Omen of War". Impaled human scull or a human rib cage with weapons piercing through it. Transformed ground is covered in reddish mist or just gets reddish tint (same with water and bush). Transformed ground also receives some distinctive features: broken and rusty weapons, arrows, maybe bones or red, blood-stained, spots. "Omen of Pestilence". A scarecrow-like figure - like a pole with a scull on top and all covered in black rags so that only part of skull is visible (smth similar to these references but with less figure shown: one and two. Ground turns greenish with several fluorescent yellow-greenish dots. A crow slowly circles perimeter of transformed ground. "Omen of Famine". Horse skull on top of a stick. Stick is crooked and looks dried out. Transformed ground is covered in yellowish dust particles. As a distinctive feature - parts of animal skulls or carcasses appear on the ground. "Omen of Death". Yorick rises his showel with both hands and a black round stone pillar rises from the ground. While rising ground gets covered in black mist in the radius of effect. After fully risen - pillar suddenly collapses under ground. Ghoully hands quickly grab all champions and drag them beneath the earth. Minions and monsters are taken into green flame. After effect ends - all champions that still live reappear in a flash in their original places. Alternatively. Instead of black mist ground turns grayish to resemble a dried out soil and bones and remains appear on it. Or ground is not covered by black mist but thin transparent green streams emanate from pillar to every champion and minion. Instead of pillar there can be tombstone of unusual form. Like this one.
[Overlapping area of several omens. Visual.] There are several ways to solve problem when certain area gets affected by more than one omen. The easiest is instead of covering whole radius with effect and particles - show only border. As a glowing effect, particles or any other mean (like with crow circling border of "Omen of Pestilence"). The harder way is to change overlapping areas depending on what omens overlap. Like reddish Omen of War and yellowish Omen of Famine will result in orange-like area. All three omens combined result in gray area. This idea is better because you can quickly show that overlapping areas are more dangerous. It would be more noticeably. Additionally if omens have distinctive particles or features (broken weapons, dust) overlapping area can show features from all omens.
[Additional] It would also be nice if Yorick received some visual updates to make him look more ghoully. Like this guy. Current Yorick looks too nice and friendly.
UPDATE Small info update in mechanics. Effect applies only when Yorick is close enough to omen.
