Currently she is facing direction relative to cast origin. I'm pretty sure in 90% cases it will look like a missed hit because enemy will be in the wrong place.
It would look really cool if she shown tong to enemy champion.
update It would have unintended interactions though. Cass would be able to instantly ult her. :( Is she immune to CC/damage during ult?

It honestly sounds like this would limit Zoe a lot.
I don't think Zoe is supposed to be immune to damage and CC during ult. It's not stated anywhere and honestly, that would be a bit broken if you keep in mind that Zoe's ult has 10 seconds CD at rank 1 and 6 seconds at rank 3.
