Shen Needs an Update

The most frustrating thing about playing Shen is the fact that nothing about him feels right. This is a man whom has focused his entire life on balance, a Ninja from Ionia, the great Eye of Twilight. When you play this guy, you should feel like the most elite fighter in the world, and yet this is exactly what he isn't.

Shen was the first champion I ever played. During the tutorial at the beginning of the game, I chose Shen since I thought to myself "Wow this guy is a badass ninja? Sign me the fuck up." Big mistake.

My immediate reaction to his kit was to hate it, I didn't understand it. Q throws a dagger at the opponent, and as it flies towards them it looks incredibly slow and clunky. W was just a stupid tiny little shield that did nothing else. And his E was the worst. It had such small range and did almost no damage, and it made people attack me. BUT EVEN WORSE, his fucking Ult couldn't be used because it's an ally target ability. It pissed me the fuck off.

Fast forward a few months I began to pick up Shen again, cause why not? Well, still didn't like him, but I played him because he was my first champion ever.

The thing that really bugs me about Shen is how none of his abilities fit his theme. When I look at Shen, and take into consideration his training, I feel like I should be playing a Bruiser, not a tank. Also feel like his abilities should feel more rewarding, cause the only thing that ever makes me feel like I'm doing damage is his passive, and even then it's small by comparison of what I get with other champions.

Shen needs a pretty drastic overhaul. There is never really a scenario where you should bring Shen as opposed to other tanks, or champions. Want to be the definition of a tank? Take Sion or Mundo. Perhaps you want to have an amazing Stick initiate? Nautilus or Maokai, possibly even Rammus. A tank that can do good damage then? Nasus, Shyvana, or Trundle.

The only unique aspect of Shen is his ult, it's a good ult too, but it doesn't fit him thematically. Perhaps if instead of just a shield that can be used to teleport to your allies, it could do something like an Aatrox buff on yourself when not cast on allies, then it would be more fitting. But not being able to use your ult, as a champion who deals little to no damage unless going into a very specific build, is just not fun.

Shen really just doesn't feel rewarding to play. Only Shen mains really enjoy playing Shen, because he's Shen. I've never seen anyone ever go into a game as first time Shen and say "Man Shen is fucking amazing"

Rito Fix Shen. Give him an overhaul like GP.
