Pulsefire Ezreal

The original Big Boy skin. Owning it showing you had a wallet big enough to blow 25 dollars on a single skin. It was commonly seen as a symbol of status, wealth even, and of course it was the first Ultimate Skin we ever gazed our eyes upon.

It's thematic was quite perfect for the Caster we know as the Prodigal Explorer Ezreal, a nice mixture of Sci-fi fantasy, with just enough of a Megaman homage for us to nod in approval. Not to mention the DBZ reference tossed into his taunt.

Unfortunately, while the Pulsefire Skin is supposed to be the shining beacon of the future, it seems like it has been unable to stand the test of time. Ironic, isn't it? The skin that was supposed to be the essence of a futuristic theme has fallen behind the other skin lines. Honestly I'd say it's no better than a legendary skin at this point. It's not nearly as Ultimate as the tier would imply. So, why am I blabbering on about Pulsefire Ezreal?

He needs an update.

Even after Ezreal's recent visual update, he remains one of the most inconsistent looking champions in game. His face ranges from gross to decent. But atop of that, he only has 1 skin that changes his particles and effects, and that would be Pulsefire. All his other skins are 750 and below, merely cosmetic. Nothing changes from one to another. That makes Pulsefire easily one of his better skins...or so that should be the case.

Reality is, Pulsefire is nothing more than a glorified Legendary skin. The colors look odd, even gross, when you consider the splash art. He's all hunched over, walks like an old man on a cane, and his overall appearance is nothing amazing.

Compared to the other two Ultimates, his is nothing special. They have far more changes made to them, and even then way better changes to their communication commands. Pulsefire is nothing more than another Lack Luster skin at this point. I would even go as far as to say that recent skins like Omega Squad Teemo beat it in every essence.

So what do I propose?

Simple, complete overhaul. No visual-update, just make him a completely new model, make changes so that his level ups from unlocking ultimate really do feel like you're going somewhere. Not only that, but add something special to make him more ultimate. Like how about complete changes to his effects and particles? Make Q look like a spear tipped blast of energy. Make W more sound wave like, and possibly even make his E look like he's leaping through a portal or something. That and change his Ult so that it leaves a trail of blue fire as it passes over. Of course this would be purely thematic and do nothing more.

But, honestly these changes would make it a lot more badass. As it currently stand, it's the only skin the prodigal explorer has that changes his effects. So let's give it some love!

Rito please rework Pulsefire!

When i would rather use the card, debonair, or frosted skins over this but the particles are the only reason i consider otherwise, you know something's wrong with ezreal's skins

Said it looked like crap when it came out, massive downvote into oblivion by people feeling like they needed to justify blowing 25 bucks on a skin....still looks like crap.

It's funny. As an Ezreal main, I own all of his skins, and my friends always ask me, "Dude, why don't you ever use Pulsefire?" And so I thought about it for a second on one occasion and it dawned on me, it sucks ass. LOL. Definitely not worth the $25 I originally spent on it. It's boring

It's not just Pulsefire that needs an update. Ezreal in general looks kinda bad by modern standards; not as bad as some others, mind you, but definitely not up to spec. His hands and feet are enormous, his mesh is kinda blocky, he has a smallish selection of voice clips, and his animations are all rather crude. You can barely even tell that his taunt is supposed to be him tossing a coin into the air and shooting it (while saying something completely unrelated to this feat of marksmanship).

What he got recently wasn't a visual update, it was a texture rebalance, same as all the other old champions. Ezreal needs serious work done on all of his skins, especially Pulsefire. I wouldn't put him at the top of my priority list for "Most Wanted Visual Updates", but he's up there.

As much as I'd love to see a remake of the Pulsefire skin, I don't see Riot doing it. It would require lots of time and effort, and would be like making a whole other Ultimate skin. They would either have to overwork the skin team, or suspend making another Ultimate until Pulsefire Ezreal was finished. Being the nice people they are though, I could imagine Riot at least doing a well-done texture update with better particles, and they would be satisfying. It wouldn't be too far out, seeing as they gave FF Tristana brand new fancy particles and Sound effects when she got her VU to make the skin more worth buying.

A texture update would make it like 3x better. It's the ugliest Ez skin in my opinion. The only thing that makes it "good" is that it has effects and the other skins don't. The model just looks plain bad.

Also, it's incredibly unlikely that Riot would be willing to do a complete rework for the skin. It would require too many resources and too much time for them to do it.

I actually like PF Ezreal. I think it looks much better than Spirit Guard Udyr.. SG Udyr is just too blah to me. It needs changed too.

I think it'd be cool if wearing PFE changed some other stuff in the game, like made the announcer's voice into the AI lady's voice, or changed the UI to look more futuristic, like you're wearing Iron Man's suit.

It makes a lot of sense considering that DJ Sona can change the game music; make Ultimate skins change the game beyond just your character.
