I really don't understand why Championship Riven is gated.

That skin was basically the starting point for the championship skin line-up and for some unknown reason, it's not available in the store with the others.

I really don't get it. The skin was available for purchase in the store in season 2. People could buy it with RP if they wanted. Just like the other skins. Why is it not in the store with the others now?

I would understand gating it, if it was only available through codes or something. Like the Pax skins for example. But the skin WAS available in the store during season 2 finals. Is it because it has the "I I" in the back, signifying season 2? What is it? What could possibly be the reason?

Riot, please. Let us give you our monies.

You have basically summed up the confusion and controversy of this skin. To be honest I don't think there was ever a reason for the skin to be limited other than a quick money making move. Ever since the release of the other champion skins as legacy its looked like a bad move.

Also I'm pretty sure all the championship skins have the season engraved into their armor, so that whole exclusive to the season excuse doesn't really fly. Especially when you consider that a series of limited edition skins that signify a season already exist in the Victorious line.

But I'm sure we will never be given the reason for this skins limited edition tag, Riot likes to stay really quite on that topic.

There's no real reason to keep Championship Riven locked away. The main reason that skin is unavailable is because Riot's eCommerce team created a policy of "limited" and "legacy" content (in the wake of players wanting Kitty Kat Katarina) that they're obediently following without reconsideration.

It's stupid, it's ridiculous and it's only getting people who want Champ Riven more and more upset for no good reason.

It was available in the store. For a limited time. Just like the other championship skins are now. It was also given away for free at the event. It's also being sold in the "asian" regions from time to time.

Why it's not sold with the other skins in the "western" servers, I don't know.

Makes literally no sense.
