The next VS event

Hello summoners,

I am surely not the only one, who really enjoyed the VS event we got this year. It was alot of fun seeing 2 communities competing in such a tournament to decide the fate of Runeterra (minus the unnecessary hate here in the boards)!

2 champions getting a legendary skin with opposing philosophies, battling until one of them is defeated. I want to see this returning and therefore I am making this thread to collect ideas for Riot for the next upcoming battle!

I am asking everyone of you, what are themes you would enjoy seeing fighting each other? Please keep the following points in mind.

Opposing philosophies We need 2 sides we can decide from. They should be contradicting each other and (important), both should have their own upsides and downsides. If one side is truly good in any aspect and the other is just plain evil, many people won't really question themselves. Both sides should be attractive to some degree, while having room for critique as well.

Champion representation Each side has to be represented by a champion. The lore of the champion does not necessarily have to match the philosophy 100%, it wasn't the case for Yasuo and Riven and therefore it seems there is no need for it. But I think it helps if you can explain why you think that the champion you have chosen for each direction would personally take this side.

I will follow up with my own suggestion, giving an example as well.

Progress VS Tradition

Progress

Skin: Advanced Mind Sejuani Sejuani Sejuani is riding a hextech/chemtech driven motorcycle. Her general design is heavily influenced by steampunk themes ala Piltover and Zaun. Sejuani as a person respects one quality the most: strength in the sense of survival. If abandoning old traditions will guarantee her people to survive, she will do so.

Philosophy: The progress side accepts that you have to make sacrifices to survive. You have to be able to adapt to new situations, you have to be able to let go. On the other hand, that means that they are willing to sacrifice their own history, letting them lose some of their identity on the way.

Tradition

Skin: Reinforced Soul Shyvana Shyvana Shyvana has a theme related to nature and ghosts (representing her ancestors). Her flame circle is replaced with swirling spirits, her dragon form looks similar to elderwood skins. As a magical creature herself, I think Shyvana would value tradition. I know that she is actually fighting her own kind, but like I said, it doesn't have to match 100%. At least her lore is intertwined with the theme of her ancestors.

Philosophy: Tradition values the wisdom of their ancestors above all. They are proud of who they are and wish to never let their people forget it. But holding too firmly on old traditions and rules causes alot of grief as well, especially if times are going to come, which their ancestors didn't prepare them for.

But that is just my personal preference, I hope to see alot more (and better) concepts presented here. ^^

Cosmic vs. Dark Star.

Cosmic does not have a legendary skin, and while Dark Star does I wouldn't mind another. The champs in question would have to be toplaners, as neither side has one yet.

Cosmic Nebula Illaoi vs. Dark Star Urgot

The conflicting philosophies here are destroying the universe vs. protecting it.

Jhin vs Zed, Shen & Akali. I can think of nothing more perfect for a vs event.

Jhin, believing that murder is a beautiful art, and Zed, Shen & Akali, thinking he's a monster for what he's done.

Jhin's skin could be Golden Demon Jhin, showcasing him as both the monster his hunter's see him as, and the beautiful being he sees himself as.

Zed, Shen & Akali could have something like Merchant skins, as that's their go-to ruse for hunting Jhin, or maybe something like Prepared skins, where they are fully equipped to stop Jhin.

Zed: Hope and Chaos Shen: Fear and Order

Zed: Zed would be the embodiment of Hope, but a herald to Yasuo. Confusing? K, lemme essplain. Zed in the canon LoLverse strikes fear into those who cross his path, and offers them the choice of embracing the Shadows, or dying in darkness. Not much of a choice, eh? Exactly. So here, Zed engenders Hope in people, but because people are hopeful for the future, some take advantage, thus causing Chaos, rendering Zed an agent of Chaos, and the herald to Yasuo.

Shen: Shen would be the embodiment of Fear, but a herald to Riven. Confusing? K. Read all of the above and apply the thematics of LoLverse Shen in the same way. Shen in the canon LoLverse upholds Balance, meaning both good and evil. Light and Dark. Mortal and Spirit. Here, he only supports Order, which is just as much of a contrast to Canon Shen as it would be if he supported Chaos. If he supports one side over the other, he automatically is opposing Balance, thus rendering him an agent of Riven.

Now, I can hear people saying, "But %%%got Zed Main, if Shen supports Balance, isn't that the same thing as Order?" and to that I say, git gud, and although both concepts keep things in check and do not allow for discord (not the program), Balance upholds both Order and Chaos, Light and Dark, "Good" and "Evil", as to keep the world in check. Therefore, by supporting Order and Light and "Good", Shen would cast off his responsibility of upholding Chaos, and Dark, and "Evil", plunging the world (ironically), into further Chaos. Paradoxical. I know.

Anyway, in terms of appearance, I imagine Zed clad in Lancer Xer0 Hecarim-esque armor, something akin to a paladin, inspiring Hope, but with darker colors, as he IS still an agent of Chaos. Black, purple, and crimson.

Shen would have Fearsome armor, similar to Reaper Hecarim or the Marauder skins, but with white, gold, and green (because blue is too main-stream) armor. Fear and Hope, and Order and Chaos.

The question this thematic asks is meant to contrast a person's values. Would you give people Hope, even when some would take advantage of it and cause Chaos, or impose Order through Fear? I'm just biased towards Zed, so I'd go for Chaos.

The entire thematic of this skinline is to contrast. Chaos vs Order, BUT, Chaos is a word with a negative connotation, similar to Fear, and vice versa for Order, meaning that it is also contrasting the context behind Fear and Hope. Most people associate Hope with Order, or if not, then Chaos and Fear. But then you look at dictators, who control their nations through Fear, thus imposing Order, because both Order and Chaos are double edged swords (in Zed's case, armblades).

I liken it to the Character Alignment Sheet. In the Canon LoLverse, Shen is True Neutral, Zed is Lawful Evil, Yasuo is Chaotic Good, and Riven is Chaotic Evil Lawful Neutral, having cast off her Noxian ways.

In the Chaos/Orderverse, Shen is Lawful Evil, Zed is Chaotic Good, Yasuo is Chaotic Evil, and Riven is Lawful Good. This could be extended to add the Kinkou, Jhin, and Kayn, but I'd rather not bullshit my justification for them to get new skins.

These would be Legendaries, obviously, as Shen and Zed both need new skins, and need Legendary Skins.
