[Champion Concept] Sharosh, The Blade Dragon

Embertine··6 votes·2,582 views

Name - Sharosh.

Title - The Blade Dragon.

Lanes - Top lane, Jungle.

Playstyle - Fighter/Assassin.

Concept - A dragon whom was twisted and transformed into a weapon by a Noxian dark experiment. Features high mobility and a Ultimate that has two uses.

Personality - Full of hatred and rage. Wants to one day claim the lives of those whom enslaved him.

Voice - Sharosh has a deep voice and says very little.

Equipment - Sharosh throws out blades from his wrists, wings, and tail, which all grow back so he can fling out more. His scales and hide have been transformed into segmented steel plates, making his armor a part of himself.

Visual Effects - As Sharosh's rage increases he generates lightning across his body. At 25% of total rage the lightning appears every 5 seconds and arcs along his body. At 50% of total rage the lightning appears every 3 seconds. At 75% rage the lightning appears at every 1 second, while at 100% the lightning is constant. This is purely a visual effect and has no effect in game but to help players realize how close Sharosh is to Ulting.

Default Skin - Sharosh is covered in segmented armor plates, and his wings are a fan of blades.

Secondary Skin - Pre-experiment Sharosh. Sharosh isn't changed by Noxian magic, so he is still covered in feathers. His attacks launch out deadly feathers instead of blades.

Resource - Rage. Sharosh generates 5 rage with each basic attack. He also generates 1 rage a second passively when he inflicts a target with Bleed for the duration the target is afflicted. Sharosh can only generate 1 rage a second from inflicting bleed, no matter how many targets are bleeding. Thus even if 5 champions and 6 minions are bleeding, Sharosh will still only gain 1 rage a second from it. Being within 300 distance of any Noxian champions, either ally or enemy, also generates 1 rage per second. This stacks with the rage Sharosh gains from causing an enemy to bleed, so Sharosh can generate up to 2 rage a second for being near an enemy Noxian that he has inflicted Bleed on, or by being near an ally Noxian and having inflicted Bleed on an enemy. If not in combat for 10 seconds, Sharosh will calm down and begin to steadily lose rage until it reaches 0 or he enters combat again. Being near a Noxian champion, either enemy or ally, will negate his rage loss as he will still generate 1 rage a second for being near someone he hates. To understand why he gains additional rage from Noxians, please read his lore.

Range of which a Noxian must be to provide passive rage, 300/ Range.

NOTE: Using his passive rage generation from being near a Noxian, either enemy or ally, can alert you to the fact that a enemy Noxian is nearby even if you can't see them. However it will not tell you where they are, only that they are nearby.

Passive Ability - Exploit. Sharosh's basic attacks and abilities apply Exploit on his targets. Exploit lasts three seconds and reduces the afflicted's armor by a percentage based on Sharosh's level.

Armor reduction is, 6/12/18/ percent of armor.

Q Ability - Pursuit. Sharosh will roll forward, launching a blade from his tail at the end of his roll. This blade will travel in a straight line, passing through enemies and applying Bleed to each enemy injured by it, and slowing the damaged enemies by up to 50% for two seconds. Upon being enhanced by his Ult, Sharosh will fling two additional blades, one from each wrist, after the first blade from his tail. These additional blades will follow the same path as the first and strike shortly after the first, dealing an additional 100% of the ability's damage. The additional blades will not pass through enemies. At the end of the blades' path, they can be seen embedded in the ground. This however is purely cosmetic and has no effect in game. They will remain for two seconds.

Damage is, 50/75/100/125/150/ damage per level, with an addition 100% damage from secondary attack when enhanced.

Distance of roll, 200/ distance for the roll at all levels.

Range of blades, 350/ range for the blades at all levels.

Amount slowed is, 50/ percent at all levels for 2 seconds.

Rage cost, 0/ rage when not enhanced. 20/ rage when enhanced.

Cool down is, 14/13/12/11/10/ seconds to cool down.

AD rate is 0.8 so 100 damage would add 80 damage to the ability.

W Ability - Shatter. When activated Sharosh will lock in place and protect himself with his wings. He will channel for three seconds, during which time he will gain an additional 30 armor a second at level five of the ability. You will be able to see his armor plating growing in thickness during this time. Once the channel has ended at three seconds, Sharosh will explode his additional armor off him, the ensuing shrapnel will damage all nearby enemies. Upon being enhanced by his Ult, after the additional armor has exploded off of him, Sharosh will flap his wings once, launching a fan of blades in a cone in front of him. These blades will apply Bleed, but will not pass through enemies. These blades will also embed into the ground at the ends of their paths, no longer having any effect in game but to be there. They will remain for two seconds.

Damage is, 30/45/60/75/90/ damage from the shrapnel, equal to the armor generated at 3 seconds of channeling. 30/60/90/120/150/ damage from the fan of blades when enhanced, plus added amount from AD.

Range of shrapnel is, 200/ at all levels. Range of blades is, 300/ distance at all levels.

Armor boost is, 10/15/20/25/30/ armor per second for each second channeled, up to three seconds.

Rage cost is, 0/ rage when not enhanced. 20/ rage when enhanced.

Cool down is, 16/15/14/13/12/ seconds to cool down.

AD rate is, 0.7 so 100 damage would add 70 damage to the ability.

E Ability - Razor's Edge. Sharosh will leap forward 100 distance, then spread his wings and glide 400 distance, during this distance he will damage enemies he and his wings pass through. The remaining 100 distance out of the 600, he will close his wings and come to a running stop not damaging enemies within that distance. So the first 100 distance is movement only, the following 400 distance will damage enemies, and the last 100 distance is movement only. Enemies Sharosh and his wings pass through, take damage and have Bleed inflicted upon them. When enhanced, Sharosh will instead leap forward and spin through the air like a drill, shooting out a total of eight blades at random enemies. Enemies can not be hit by more than two blades. Bleed is still applied and blades that did not have targets to hit will embed into the ground and remain for two seconds, having no further effect in game.

Damage is, 60/80/100/120/140/ damage per level to all enemies Sharosh and his wings pass through. Damage is also the same for enhanced ability, however as an enemy may be hit by up to two blades, damage is potentially doubled.

Range is, 600/ total range, 100 of which starting from the beginning of the ability is movement only. 400 distance after is the area enemies are damaged. The remaining 100 is for Sharosh to come land on his feet and stop. Range of blades in enhanced ability, 300/ from Sharosh as their point of origin along his flight.

Rage cost is, 0/ rage when not enhanced. 20/ rage when enhanced.

Cool down is, 20/18/16/14/12/ seconds to cool down.

AD rate is, 1.0 so 100 damage would add 100 damage to this ability.

R Ability - Dragon's Wrath. First activation will enhance all of Sharosh's abilities, adding additional effects or damage. Each ability uses 20 rage when enhanced, out of the total 100 rage that Sharosh can possess. Once all rage is used up or Sharosh has been out of combat for ten seconds, his abilities will no longer be enhanced. If Sharosh has not used any rage after first activating his Ult, he may activate his Ult once more to consume all his rage in a single attack. Activating his Ult a second time and then clicking your target will cause Sharosh to brace himself on all fours while facing his target and spread his wings above himself. All the lightning on Sharosh will then concentrate and arc off of his wings and he will then unleash a devastating blast of pure rage from his mouth. This blast is as wide as Lux's laser, and lasts for up to 5 seconds at level three of the ability. The blast deals damage every half second that it is hitting enemies and will pass through enemies to the end of its range, allowing Sharosh to hit multiple targets. The blast pushes all enemies being struck by it back by 75 distance each time it damages them at level three of the ability. If Sharosh does not use any ability or his Ult's second cast ten seconds after first activating his Ult, then Sharosh will immediately lose half his rage and proceed to lose the rest at a steady rate until he either damages an enemy or is damaged by an enemy. Being near any ally or enemy Noxians will not prevent Sharosh from losing half his rage, but will prevent it from further declining as being near a Noxian will generate one rage a second. Dragon's Wrath does NOT inflict Bleed upon enemies. After casting his Ult, Sharosh cannot gain rage until he has used all of his rage up or his Ult is over. This is a channel ability and thus moving or being stunned/silenced will cancel the ability.

First cast of the Ult only enhances abilities and costs no rage, but Sharosh must be at maximum rage to cast it.

Second cast of the Ult is the damage Ult and can only be used if Sharosh has not used another ability after the first cast of his Ult as it requires maximum rage to be cast.

Damage is, 50/75/100/ damage each half second that an enemy is being damaged by the blast. This is a total of 1000 damage at level three of the Ult and a full five seconds of damaging an enemy.

Time the blast lasts, 3/4/5/ seconds.

Range of blast, 1000/range at all levels.

Distance enemies are pushed back by the blast, 25/50/75 distance at all levels for each time the enemy is damaged by the blast.

Rage cost is, 100/ percent of Sharosh's rage.

Cool down is, 120/100/90/ seconds to cool down.

AD rate is, 0.2 so 100 damage would add 20 damage for each half second the blast is on an enemy, for a total of 200 additional damage if the enemy is being hit by the blast for the full five seconds. Considering that many players will have 300 or more AD when playing Sharosh, they would have an additional 600 damage on the ult if it is on the targets for the full five seconds. This is not overpowered, as most players at level 18 have around 50% damage reduction from their armor, and thus will take about half damage from the Ult. Even with 300 AD adding in an extra 600 damage, a tanky champion with around 70% damage reduction, will take only 480 damage from the max level Ult even if it hits them for the full 5 seconds, ignoring 720 damage from the ability.

I can't be bothered to read this all.

so +1.

Embertine1 votes

Aw but I wasn't even finished with his lore yet T . T

But if you liked what you did read of him enough to +1 him, than thank you very much!

This reminds me a lot of a dragon from a cartoon I watched when I was younger, and the angel dude from Xmen where he loses his wings and gets corrupted in order to get them back. Beyond that, and in all seriousness, this concept is badass. I would have taken a more Hextech/techmaturgical approach to him, but you made a fairly fearsome dragon. I love the gliding mechanic on his E especially, it gives a really neat ability to use. The entire concept is rather solid man, majoy props :D

Embertine1 votes

Thank you very much for the compliments!

And until you just mentioned him, I had completely forgotten about arche angel from xman.

Love it, of course. You could add a note, that his passive Rage gain from being nearby Noxian champs could be used as a detector if Sharosh were in the jungle and an enemy Noxian were near. I really love the way you have described each ability it is very clear. I can't wait for the rest of the Lore, it was very interesting an emotional, I enjoyed it a lot. Also what do you think about renaming the Passive as Razor Sharp, or something like that?

Embertine1 votes

While Shamont and I were tossing ideas back and forth, it had come to my attention that you could use his passive rage gain from noxians as a way to detect a nearby enemy noxian, however the distance they would have to be to activate it is short enough that it hardly made for a tactical use.

However I will add the note now.

Honestly I had a hard time coming up with a name for his passive that conveyed exactly what his passive was. I ended up going with bleed because in the end, that's what he was doing to you, making you bleed.

Also thanks for the upvote! seems he got downvoted twice, (like all my posts for some reason) so he's back where he started. But oh well. If people like him enough they will upvote him. Again thanks!

FlameHalbrdOkido1 votes

also upvoted, i always forgot to do that for the good ones, because i get caught up in the awesomeness

Shamont has posed a question to me concerning why I changed Sharosh's ult from stopping on the first target it hits and simply damaging enemies to the sides while still damaging the main target, to the current version where Sharosh's ult passes through enemies, allowing him to push back multiple enemies in a lane rather than just the one upfront.

I want the peoples opinions on which Sharosh should have. Should his ult not be able to pass through the target upfront, and still be able to damage targets to the sides of the upfront target? Or should it be the version he has now, where it passes through targets and pushes all targets it damages back?

!!UPDATE!!

2/2/2015

I've now included a second skin for Sharosh.

I really like this champion idea. His abilities are unique and fun, I especially like his Q and W. I can’t really however tell you how his kit would far in game because of the lack of AD or AP ratios. I tend to calculate damages out for people and I am more of a game play expert than a theme or lore expert.

I can however tell you how you could increase the reader friendliness of this post. Your post currently is hard to read in some parts and I know it could turn people off from this post.

Using the Bold button will help in making key points and names more visible to the common reader. You can Bold things by Highlighting them with you mouse and clicking the B button at the bottom of the post, or putting “**” on each side of a word or phrase.

You can also Indent parts of your post that you want to appear separate from your post, like your ability stats or your lore. You can do this by Highlighting these parts and clicking the “ button at the bottom for the post, or putting a > before each line.

You can also put a line between paragraphs (Like I have done above) by, putting 5 “-” between the two paragraphs.

I know, I'm just focusing on his lore at the moment.

Embertine1 votes

I read your post again and I realized you hadn't actually read through his abilities. I've had the AD and AP ratios included in his abilities along with cooldowns and and basic damage since before I even posted him.

DiamondMatthew1 votes

If I did look over the ratios, which I ma pretty sure I didn't since I take my reviews and Champions very serious, I am sorry. However, with the new formatting, they are now easier to spot ( If they were there to begin with ). I will get your full ability run down ASAP, but just know I am busy with college.

Embertine1 votes

Yes they were already there.

Here is a copy of the original Q before I posted the concept.

Q Ability - Pursuit. Sharosh will roll forward, launching a blade from his tail at the end of his roll. This blade will travel in a straight line, passing through enemies and applying Bleed to each enemy injured by it, and slowing the damaged enemies by up to 50% for two seconds. Upon being enhaced by his Ult, Sharosh will fling two additional blades, one from each wrist, after the first blade from his tail.

His ratios were already there you just somehow went over them without noticing.

DiamondMatthew1 votes

Okay man, sorry about that. I'll post my comments on your abilities this weekend ( hopefully ).

Also, as you may seen, I have a variety of champion concepts. I would love it if you could review a couple or one or six or all of them. ( The link is below )

It's been 21 days, (according to the forums) but no feedback yet? : (

Embertine1 votes

Also I've already done all this stuff in my Lorana post, my original champion submision. Sharosh just isn't finished yet.

Halofire1 votes

While the resource fits with his lore, were this champion actually in-game, the Rage gain from Noxians would likely be removed, as there would be no benefit and instead only a repercussion to an enemy from playing a champion they enjoy, simply because that champion is Noxian. Either there would need to be some gain for Noxians, or that interaction would need to be removed in favor of joke/taunt interactions with Noxians, or an in-game event, like The Hunt is On! or Battle for Freljord, that has some reward for the winner.

Outside of that, +1 because the abilities are unique and interesting.

Embertine1 votes

The rage gain is also applied for when there is an ally noxian near Sharosh, thus supporting the want to work together in game. While it is also a small enough gain that even if Sharosh stood by them for a full minute he would only generate 60 rage. Most fights I have been in have not lasted longer than 15 seconds, so I can't imagine his passive rage gain ever really punishing any enemy players at only 1 point a second, which is half of what Shyvana gets for passive rage gain. Not to mention it only happens if there is a Noxian near Sharosh, unlike Shyvana whom get's hers constantly.

However thank you very much for your thoughts on the matter.

FlameHalbrdOkido1 votes

Oh my gosh, i really like the new addition that you put here, Im really excited for the last part now!

Inu Teppa1 votes

I would fling my money at my computer screen right now if I thought it would get this champion into the game lol!

I really like the concept and would very much enjoy there being another dragon type champion in league.

1 upvote from me!

Embertine1 votes

lol thank you.

FlameHalbrdOkido1 votes

Can't wait for the grand finale

Embertine1 votes

I'm still working on the lore, but it's taking me time. So for now I'll just give a little teaser.

In the start of the lore Sharosh asks, "Why am I full of so much rage? That. . .is a long story." and is telling his lore in first person. (Meaning he is telling it himself instead of someone else telling it.)

So clearly Sharosh is recounting his story to someone whom has asked him why he is so angry. Who is this person and what about them possesses Sharosh to confide into them his pain and sorrow?

The answer will be in the end, when he has finished his tale.

FlameHalbrdOkido1 votes

How did you get the boxes around the text?

Embertine2 votes

Place > before the text.

that will make this.

To place the long lines, place three _ in a row without spaces in between them.

That will make this.
