The whole point of the "The Fifth Age" skin is that it's closer to what Taric looked like in Season 5, before his rework. Wouldn't make a lot of sense to put on a champ that was introduced in season 7.

What? Armor of the Fifth Age was released in season 1 and it looks nothing like Taric's original design.

Really? Huh. I guess I never noticed it existed until after Taric's rework when I heard a some people talking about how it kept a couple elements of Taric's old design that his default new skin didn't.

So I guess I was wrong about why it was called "fifth age" then.

If I recall correctly, it's sorta supposed to be a reference to this WoW armor set

This was back when LoL was still connected to it's old DOTA roots and making references to things gamers might find amusing and relevant at the time.

They put their own cheeky spin on it with the leg muffs, cause to be fair... pink armor is sort of a weird color for a paladin-like character (but hey, what can you do if you want them smexy stats?) It's also the skin that brought the "Taric is Gay" theory to life, cause he looks... well, not gonna lie, fabulous.

With the rework, they totally drifted away from that portrayal of him, but kept the angle of him being a pretty boy who was super confident.

So he still looks "truly outrageous" in his new skin, but his sexuality is left intentionally nebulous so the skin appeals to people beyond those who are looking for the "LOL, TARIC LOOKS SO GAY!" angle.
