Holy shit this gives me an idea

What if Swain is the Principal of the school that the Star Guardians go to and he's their leader, this would fit him so much design wise as well.

I super love this. This needs to happen. Mostly cause of that 'stache.

Will his R do the magical girl cosplay change thing?

This makes me think of a headmaster or dean of students kind of skin. Could be similar style but less flashy. It could fit in along with the academy skins.

while i'm not that much of a fan of the skin line.. i'd rather have swain get a darkstar skin mostly because of the visual that they could make for his ult. (im personally imagioning swain becoming the blackhole in the middle)

I don't think it blurs the line between academy and star guardian. I don't really see the very general-like epaulettes and coat, with combat boots, as evoking the head of an academy, unless it's a military academy.

It reminds me more of the possible avenues that haven't been explored for sailor-moon style skins for men that aren't just making a male version of a sailor moon custome (ie Ezreal), such as characters like Tuxedo Mask. Although the Swain skin here evokes nothing like Tuxedo Mask, it does seem like a plausible character for that kind of anime - as kind of a fatherly elder leader who overseas operations and may not actually go directly into battle often.

I also thought it was clever the idea someone had of him being more of a retired star guardian, especially since he lacks an arm, which might also fit with why he stays back at the base of operations and directs rather than fights directly (unless a rare situation calls for it, allowing him to show off how much power he still has that they haven't seen yet).

I like idea of Swain being the good guy here. It's nice to be able to change up the style and attitude of champions through skins.

Looks more like a "Star Commander" or something along those lines if you ask me. Like he's the one who commands the Galactic skin line or perhaps guides the Star Guardians.

The concept art looks great. Might actually make me want to get a star guardian skin, if I had not already stopped playing swain because his rework isn't as fun as he use to be.

It would be nice to see Swain in a good/positive light instead of playing a villain for once.

Honestly, the first thing that came to my mind looking at this thing was..

"Battlecruiser operational."

I really, REALLY like this. The color design is really well done; its nice to see artists that don't make overly bright or flashy mockups for skins like these, this is a much more subtle, fitting look for the line.

I logged in just to upvote this, I hope someone from the design team sees this post and gets inspired at least in some way. This is a much different light than we ordinarily see star guardians in. The idea of a retired veteran guardian now in old age is INCREDIBLY inviting, it makes the whole idea feel like its grounded in a more real, human world.

It's too cool of an idea not to do it. It wouldn't be the first time anime had to be retconned a bit. Maybe everyone just forgot about him from an earlier generation.

Expanding on the idea. Swain was a Star Guardian that found the only way to truly destroy the threat to humanity was to use the power from the evil creatures. He replaces him arm with this power, much to the disdain of the other Star Guardians. He ends up ostracized by the others, but he still adamantly believes in using the evil natured power, albeit for good.
